《 (Leaflet) Whereabouts of consciousness 》

Consciousness has the bodily sensing action and the thinking action. And these are big actions. In particular, the thinking action must be great essentially.

Then, it's judged that the action of consciousness is a great one formed from innumerable components.

And consciousness can perceive the great bodily sensation and thoughts that are the result of the great actions.

Then, moreover, consciousness is also judged to have a single quantum-like integrateness and comprehensiveness.

However, the brain, no matter how highly organized it is, is by no means a single quantum. The brain is nothing more than an aggregate of innumerable substances when evaluated materially --externally--.

For this reason, it's judged that consciousness cannot emerge at the material --external / macroscopic-- aspect of the brain.

Therefore, it's strongly speculated that consciousness must emerge at the immaterial --internal / microscopic-- aspect of the brain and superpose upon the brain.

And the immaterial --internal / microscopic-- aspect of matter is embodied with the matter actions. The matter actions are the true nature and source of matter (and known macroscopic laws of physics). (Nothingness doesn't exist, so there must necessarily be physical entities (which are embodied with energy) that enforce the laws of physics).

For this reason, consciousness is expected to be formed from matter actions that can form the huge action of consciousness among the matter actions. The actions are the measurement action and the computation action. These actions inherent in the innumerable substances that make up the brain are the constituents of consciousness.

《 (Leaflet) The true nature of consciousness and the emergence mechanism 》

The fact that one's own consciousness emerges in a physical world of this universe is obvious for one's own self. Thereby, for self, there is no doubt that consciousness is something very physical anyway.

However, even though it's physical, consciousness doesn't seem possible to demonstrate. Thereby, it seems that, even if we explore consciousness, we have no choice but to brazen out with speculation throughout.

On the other hand, matter has internal actions (= matter actions). (Since these actions themselves also cannot be observed directly, we also have no choice but to speculate their being logically and rationally as hard as possible).

And, according to the speculation, ideological actions --the measurement action and the computation action-- that fused into one, among matter actions inherent in matter, are the true nature of consciousness. It is speculated that the huge action after ideological actions inherent in innumerable matter that compose verious living bodies, from microbes and single-celled organisms down, fuse into one is the true nature of consciousness.

And, it seems that the direct cause for innumerable ideological actions to fuse into one is the physical order forming effect that is presumed to occur in a system where it is surmised that heat is discharged outside and entropy production rate reduces. This effect is speculated to work on the tendency of emergence --the formation of new physical order-- that is presumed to be provided to energies themselves and let the ideological actions (that are embodied with energy itself) fuse into one on their own, by self-control.

The rough framework of the consciousness emergence seems like this. And, if we guessed it, it's so disappointing unexpectedly that we think, "What was that?"

However, it doesn't seem possible to demonstrate. Matters concerning the consciousness emergence are all unprovable.

《 Expected characteristics of consciousness 》

1) Consicousness is physical

2) Consicousness is a physical phenomenon

3) Consicousness is roughly an action

4) Consicousness is order

5) Consicousness is integrate, comprehensive, and big (Important)

6) The quality of consicousness is microscopic (Important)

7) Consciousness is the subject (me) adopting the first person (Super-important)

  ................

1) Consicousness is physical

Consciousness can perceive its own body and the outside world. Moreover, it can move its body (muscles) by thinking. (However, it needs to be explained that thinking is not done in the substance called brain but in consciousness. And, this thing doesn't mean that far as free will is provided for consciousness). These things mean that there is some point of contact between consciousness and matter, and consciousness is physical.

2) Consicousness is a physical phenomenon

Consciousness emerges and disappears. Moreover it always fluctuates. So consciousness is presumed to be some physical phenomenon.

3) Consicousness is roughly an action

Consciousness can feel the five senses and thoughts. It seems that, if the actions as the origins of them work, their movements are felt automatically by consciousness as the five senses and thoughts. (Similar to the five senses, a thought seems to be a thing which is felt by consciousness). The senses of the five senses and thoughts are, so to speak, like shadows of actions's movement. It is surmised that, if the movement of an action continues with the lapse of time, the continuation would become a sense by itself. What brings the five senses is the bodily sensing action. What brings thoughts is the thinking action. Consciousness is presumed to be one which is formed by putting the bodily sensing action and the thinking action together. And, the continuing movement of consciousness may become mind by itself.

4) Consicousness is order

An action is order if it deserves the name of action. Furthermore it is advanced order. Consciousness which is presumed to be an action is also advanced order at the same time.

5) Consicousness is integrate, comprehensive, and big (Important)

Consciousness can at once feel innumerable senses and thoughts that occur at various regions in the brain. This thing, though the existential mode of consciousness is not yet known here, connotes that consciousness is a big, integrate, and comprehensive one which superposes upon the brain in some way.

6) The quality of consicousness is microscopic (Important)

It seems that consciousness is probably intangible, difficult or impossible to observe or measure, and one to which ordinary laws of physics are not applicable. And, from these things, the quality of consciousness is presumed to be microscopic.

7) Consciousness is the subject (me) adopting the first person (Super-important)

This universe macroscopically seems to be thoroughly a world of objects which adopts the third person. And, it's hard to conceive that consciousness which is the subject (me) adopting the first person can exist unconditionally, for nothing, in such a world. For consciousness to be able to emerge at a macroscopic level, it's strongly surmised that subjectivity which can bring consciousness is provided in a basic, microscopic facet of matter. And, it seems that there is nothing other than actions inherent in matter that bears the subjectivity. Actions are the true form of subjectivity of matter having the "subject-object duality" or the "activeness-passivity duality".

《 Some speculations about consciousness formation 》

From the expected characteristics of consciousness, as to the formation of consciousness, the following things are speculated.

  ................

a) Consciousness is formed on the base of matter

b) Consciousness is formed owing to the working of some cause, effect, basis, mechanism, framework, factor, etc. which promotes the formation of the physical order

c) Consciousness is like a big and peculiar quantum

d) Consciousness is the same kind as actions inherent in matter

e) Consciousness is a big action which doesn't deal with entities but fulfills ideological work

f) Consciousness is formed from actions which are inherent in matter and doesn't deal with entities but fulfills ideological work

  ................

a) Consciousness is formed on the base of matter

Nothingness doesn't exist, and nothing can be formed from nothingness. From the characteristics 1) to 4), consciousness is presumed to be formed on the base of matter in some way.

b) Consciousness is formed owing to the working of some cause, effect, basis, mechanism, framework, factor, etc. which promotes the formation of the physical order

From the characteristics 3) and 4), consciousness is presumed to be formed by the action of some driving force which promotes the formation of the physical order.

c) Consciousness is like a big and peculiar quantum

From the characteristic 5), consciousness is presumed to be like a big and peculiar quantum. It's because, in this universe, what can have integrateness and comprehensiveness as a single physical entity is a quantum only.

d) Consciousness is the same kind as actions inherent in matter

From the characteristic 6), the world of elementary particles is associated. And, from the fact of 3) of being an action, it is surmised that consciousness may be the same kind as actions inherent in an elementary particle (matter). Moreover, also from the characteristic 7), it is expected that the source of consciousness may be actions inherent in matter.

e) Consciousness is a big action which doesn't deal with entities but fulfills ideological work

From the characteristic 3), consciousness is presumed to be a big action of fulfilling ideological work. It's because both the bodily sensing action and the thinking action do not deal with entities which are embodied with energy but fulfill ideological work. For example, they are actions like measuring instruments, computers, and FPGAs.

f) Consciousness is formed from actions which are inherent in matter and doesn't deal with entities but fulfills ideological work

From the speculations d) and e), consciousness is presumed to be formed from actions which are inherent in matter and fulfill ideological work.

  ................

I) Consciousness superposes on the brain (living thing)

From things above, it is expected that consciousness is like a big, integrate, comprehensive, microscopic, and peculiar quantum which doesn't deal with entities but fulfills ideological work.

By the way, the material (macroscopic) things which exist in the brain are substances that construct the brain and the electromagnetic field only. However, these don't form an integrate body like a quantum, and cannot be consciousness.

Moreover, these cannot form consciousness which is microscopic because of being material. It's reverse. Material things --for example, a solid particle-- are formed from matter actions which are microscopic as static physical properties (scalars) as results --are observed as such--.

Then, consciousness is expected to occur as something like a non-material (microscopic), big, integrate, comprehensive, and peculiar quantum, superposing upon the brain. (It's because there is nothing else material).

Consciousness superposes upon the brain (living thing) in a strange way.

  ................

II) Expected entity of consciousness

From things above, it is expected that consciousness may be as follows.

- (The entity of) consciousness is like a big, integrate, comprehensive, and extremely peculiar quantum which doesn't deal with material entities but deals with ideas only and is formed in a way of superposing on (the constituent substances of) a living body in which consciousness emerges.

  ................

III) Requirements for the formation of consciousness

From things above, it seems that the following are required for the formation of consciousness.

1) Internal actions that are inherent in matter, can form the action of consciousness, and fulfill ideological work.

2) The driving force which promotes the formation of physical order at the level of internal actions inherent in matter.

《 Main basises for the emergence of consciousness 》

Main basises for the emergence of consciousness are as follows.

1) Nothingness doesn't exist (Bergson, Spinoza)

2) Internal measurement (Physics)

3) Internal actions inherent in matter (Physics)

4) Energy has a tendency toward emergence (Physics)

5) The second law of thermodynamics, self-assembly, self-organization, and the physical order forming effect which is expected to arise from the reduction of entropy production rate (Thermodynamics)

6) Autopoiesis (System theory)

  ................

1) Nothingness doesn't exist (Bergson, Spinoza)

(The non-existence of nothingness is described in "3 The foundation of this universe and entities").

Consciousness is elusive and strange. However, it, on the other hand, is fluctuating always. From this point of view, consciousness seems to be a physical phenomenon in a broad sense. (What changes over time is a physical phenomenon basically). Moreover, it's hard to explain, but consciousness is equipped with the bodily sensing action and the thinking action, and roughly presumed to be an action.

And, a physical phenomenon or an action cannot be formed from nothingness. This is because nothingness doesn't exist, nothingness cannot be embodied with anything, and there is nothing which can be embodied with nothingness.

For this reason, it seems necessary that consciousness is formed on the basis of matter in some form. It's because, including space, everything present in this universe is not nothingness, and something other than nothingness is matter in a broad sense. And, since matter and energy are equivalent and the origin of matter is energy, it seems necessary that consciousness is embodied with energy fundamentally.

2) Internal measurement (Physics)

(It is described in "6 Matter (3) -- Matter has internal actions" about the internal measurement).

3) Internal actions inherent in matter (Physics)

(It is described in "6 Matter (3) -- Matter has internal actions" about the internal actions inherent in matter).

The internal actions inherent in matter is the subdivision of the work of internal measurement in terms of its composition. (However, those actions, though they seem to be indispensable for matter to exist in this universe, are not yet recognized in physics).

The following actions are supposed.

a) Acceptance action (Deals with entities)

b) Measurement action (Fulfills information gathering that is an ideological function. Like measuring instruments)

c) Computation action (Fulfills designing or thinking that is an ideological function. Like computers)

d) Operation action (Deals with entities. Like machine's operation)

The operation action seems to be fine at the matter level. However, when it works in living bodies such as microorganisms, cells, etc., a physically exceedingly grave problem is expected. That is related to the activity of living bodies --ultimiately, active movements of substances based on the ideological work fulfilled in substances-- based on the work of consciousness --thinking--. .However, it is surmised that living things can never act actively, unless matter has the operation action. (It seems that exquisite crystalline masses of various substances are also never formed).

4) Energy has a tendency toward emergence (Physics)

(This is described in "4 Matter (1) -- The existential mode".

However, this fact doesn't seem to be particularly recognized in physics).

5) The second law of thermodynamics, self-assembly, self-organization, dissipative structure, and the physical order forming effect which is expected to arise from the reduction of entropy production rate (Thermodynamics)

While consciousness is an action, it also seems to be high and dynamic physical order. However, it seems that high physical order can never be formed naturally because of the second law of thermodynamics that entropy increases, unless there is any cause, basis, mechanism, framework, factor, or driving force. (In spite of that, it is formed naturally in actual fact).

For this reason, it seems that the work of some driving force which promotes the formation of the physical order of consciousness (on a level of actions inherent in matter) is indispensable so that the high and dynamic order of consciousness is formed.

By the way, in thermodynamics, there are concepts (physical events) of self-assembly and self-organization that deeply relate to the natural formation of physical order. These are expressed by Ilya Prigogine, a Russian-born Belgian physicist. (Prigogine won the Nobel Prize for his work).

It is said that the following is the features of self-assembly.

Self-assembly is a quasistatic process. The system is not a closed system but an open system. However, the place is a static environment which can be regarded as really in a thermodynamic equilibrium where heat barely flows. (However, it seems that, the entropy production rate reduces due to the shedding of heat, even if only slightly). Constituent quanta exist pretty nearby --are almost in touch with each other actually--. So, the physical (chemical) properties worn by substances (quanta) are the dominant causes to form order. The bonds between substances are necessary, but close bonds like chemical bonds are not necessarily needed, and bonds by mere solidification (change of phase) will do. However, it doesn't matter if substances are chemically bonded. Because the environment is not stirred and the formation of the order progresses gently, a variety of crystals and substances are formed according to the properties of substances and the environmental conditions.

Furthermore, it is said that the following is the features of self-organization.

The order by self-organization is formed in the open system which is in a state of thermodynamically nonequilibrium, i.e., which is moving dynamically as a physical phenomenon. It's not limited to small space. So, broad order can be formed. Bonds like chemical bonds (conversions of quanta) of constituent quanta may occur, but are not necessary. The system is moving dynamically and is open, and there occur interchanges of energy and substances with the outside world. So, even if heat and entropy are produced inside the system, they are drained away, and a state in which the production of entropy is reduced as an entire system is maintained constantly to some extent. The dissipative structure is formed in a system like this. And, self-organization occurs in a dissipative structure.

However, these two physical events do not seem to be the driving force for the formation of high and dynamic physical order in living bodies, as it is. This is because the movement of substances in a living body is too high and complicated. Moreover, the movement of substances in a living body is integrated and cooperative. Such movement can never be realized with simple physical events. (Matter is a third person object macroscopically and can never move --rotation / spatial locomotion / chemical reaction-- unless it is passively involved in some physical interaction). It seems that such movement is by no means fulfilled unless it bases on a comprehensive design by the intelligence (which is essentially large).

It is strongly surmised that the formation of advenced and dynamic physical order bases on the work of intelligence. And, the large intelligence is not formed through the physical events of self-assembly or self-organization, but formed caused by the reduction itself of entropy production rate. And the constituents can be found in matter.

The true nature of matter is not a wave nor particle, but actions inherent in matter. It seems that, among those actions, ideological actions that can form the intelligence are also included. (And intelligence in a living body is consciousness. The work of consciousness is the work of intelligence).

It is expected that the reduction of entropy production rate or the physical order forming effect which seems to arise from it may have capablity to form large actions.

Internal actions inherent in matter seem to be embodied directly by energy. And, it is expected that energy, apart from its external works (that increase entropy), has a tendency toward emergence using itself as materials. The reduction of entropy production rate may be able to fuse ideological actions (= energy) of substances and form a large action called consciousness.

(Possibly, also in the physical events of self-assembly and self-organization, material intelligence (= material consciousness) may be formed through the reduction of entropy production rate. And, the formation of exquisite crystalline masses of various substances may base on the design by material intelligence that emerges in self-assembly. This is because it seems impossible that the movements of innumerable substances are organized and integrateness and cooperativeness are brought to them, unless it bases on the ideological work --information gathering and designing-- of large intelligence).

Depending on this, it is presumed that the reduction of entropy production rate may be the driving force of the formation of consciousness (= intelligence in a living body).

4) Autopoiesis (System theory)

The movement of living bodies such as microorganisms, cells, tissues, and organs comes under autopoiesis --self-production / spontaneous, independent, and active production of one's own high and dynamic physical order--. And, the fulfillment of autopoiesis cannot dispense with the work of intelligence.

And, the work of intelligence seems to be a combination of A) comprehensive measurement (information gathering / sensation) about the physical state of the whole of a living body and B) comprehensive design (thinking / computation) of the physical state (order) of the whole living body at the next moment based on the measurement. These are ideological events.

Moreover, external and cooperative movements of the constituent substances of the living body based on --affected by-- the design are also necessary to autopoiesis. However this is a material event and doesn't necessarily seem to be contained in intelligence.

And these are the requirements of autopoiesis.

And, ideological events and a material event are contained in autopoiesis. That is to say, it follows that autopoiesis has duality of ideologicality and materiality.

Furthermore, from a different point of view, A) and C) are points of contact between intelligence and matter. The measurement of A) is a point of contact at the input side for intelligence, and the movement of substances of C) is a point of contact at the output side.

Intelligence is ideological, but there has surely been what relates the ideological things and matter. Autopoiesis, which is done at a living body, was the point of contact between idea and matter.

Furthermore, the design (computation / thinking) of B) is exactly ideological work (event), and ideological work has been staunchly fulfilled at autopoiesis.

And the work of intelligence is the work of consciousness. Consciousness, to put it simply, was intelligence. Consciousness was intelligence. Consciousness embodies intelligence.

And, intelligence is the requirement of autopoiesis, and, also, is consciousness. Then it follows that consciousness is the requirement of autopoiesis.

And, things above are the physical evidence of the existence of consciousness. If autopoiesis is done in some physical system, there emerges consciousness always. This is because an ideological event --comprehensive measurement / computation / design / thinking-- is indispensable to the fulfillment of autopoiesis. The work of consciousness cannot be lacked to autopoiesis. Consciousness (= intelligence) is the essential basis of autopoiesis.

《 Physical possibility of consciousness formation 》

1) Presumed form of consciousness

2) Requirements of consciousness

3) Basises of requirements of consciousness

4) Actions inherent in matter that fulfill ideological functions

5) Grounding of consciousness formation

6) Expected framework of consciousness formation

7) Ideas occur in matter

8) The source of ideas which occur in matter

9) The emergence of senses and sentient consciousness

  ................

1) Presumed form of consciousness

Consciousness is presumed to be as follows.

Consciousness is high and dynamic physical order. (The entity of) consciousness is like a huge, integrate, comprehensive, and extremely peculiar quantum which doesn't fulfill material functions but fulfolls ideological functions alone and is formed in a way of superposing on (the constituent substances of) a material entity in which it emerges.

2) Requirements of consciousness

And, the following seem to be required for the formation of consciousness which is presumed to be such a thing.

a) Internal actions that are inherent in matter, can form the action of consciousness, and fulfill ideological functions.

b) The driving force which promotes the formation of physical order at the level of internal actions inherent in matter.

3) Basises of requirements of consciousness

And, the following are conceivable as the basises which meet those requirements.

A) Internal actions inherent in matter

B) Physical order forming effect which is expected to occur by the reduction of entropy production rate

4) Actions inherent in matter that fulfill ideological functions

And, it seems that matter has the following (compositional) actions which fulfill ideological functions.

(The internal actions inherent in matter seem possible to be classified from two points of view, a point of view of individual actions and a point of view of compositional actions that compose an individual action. As to the details, please see "6 Matter (3) -- Matter has internal actions".

Moreover, distinctions of compositional actions are but models to make it easy to image their functions).

b) Measurement action (Fulfills information gathering that is an ideological function. Like measuring instruments)

c) Computation action (Fulfills designing or thinking that is an ideological function. Like computers)

5) Grounding of consciousness formation

Matter which is equivalent to energy may fundamentally be formed as a close aggregate of energy. The real (functional) true nature of matter seems to be neither a wave nor a particle, but is a close aggregate of energy. (The wave and the particle are, rather, observed morphological traces and easy-to-image morphological models of matter. However, internal actions which are presumed to be inherent in matter are also easy-to-image models regarding the spontaneous, independent, and active functioning of matter. Those are like generic terms). And, energy seems to embody the internal actions inherent in matter directly. (And, actions inherent in matter bring the (mode of) existence in appearance, of a wave or a particle).

Thereby, there is a possibility that consciousness is also embodied with energy directly in an extraordinary peculiar way. Consciousness may be formed directly from (internal actions which are formed by) energy which is the true nature of constituent substances of the material entity in which consciousness emerges.

However, it doesn't seem that all the internal actions participate in the formation of consciousness. This is because the constitutent substances do not closely combine chemically and form a single huge matter (quantum) which corresponds to the brain.

Consciousness is, rather, presumed to be formed only from actions which (do not perform material functions but) fulfill ideological functions, among internal actions inherent in matter. If it is only from actions of fulfilling ideological functions, a huge integrate body called consciousness may be formed without chemical combination of constituent substances.

6) Expected framework of consciousness formation

To demonstrate seems to be practically impossible, but consciousness is presumed to be formed as follows.

First of all, though it doesn't seem to be particularly recognized in physics, it seems that, internally, energy is essentially endowed with a tendency toward emergence that seek to promote itself to a state of higher order --seek to evolve itself-- if possible, (contrary to the external functions that tend to bring the collapse of physical order at the macroscopic level outside matter). (As to this, please see "4 Matter (1) -- The existential mode").

Moreover, if heat was generated through some mechanism inside any physical system, entropy --disorder / messiness-- of the system increases. However, if the heat is shed to the outside, the entropy production rate in the system will reduce. And, originated from this reduction of the entropy production rate, a physical order forming effect is expected to arise inside the system.

And, being worked on by this effect, the tendency toward emergence inherent in energy is activated. As the result of it, actions of fulfilling ideological functions among the internal actions inherent in constituent substances of the system fuse into one and form a single huge, integrate, and comprehensive action as consciousness, without chemical combination of the substances.

(It seems that chemical reactions of substances cannot be caused by the physical order forming effect alone, but if they are actions that (do not fulfill material functions but) fulfill ideological functions, they could fuse into a single huge action by the physical order forming effect alone).

Here, internal actions of fulfilling ideological functions that take part in the consciousness formation are the measurement action and the computation action. The huge measurement action formed is promoted to a sensation (measurement / observation / information gathering) action. And, the huge computation action is promoted to a thinking (computation / design) action. And, the combination of these two actions is consciousness.

And, since the internal actions inherent in matter are physical entities, the consciousness that is formed from actions of fulfilling ideological functions (inside a physical system) is also a physical entity.

Let's evaluate this consciousness that is a physical entity as physical consciousness.

7) Ideas occur in matter

And, since the foregoing two compositional actions fulfill ideological functions, we cannot help inferring that there occur ideas while they operate --however, internal actions inherent in matter are presumed to be always in operation without resting actually to keep the existence of matter alive--.

The ideas that occur in the measurement action are measured values of the present state of matter and the extrinsic influence such as forces and energy matter receives.

The ideas that occur in the computation action are computed results about operations matter must fulfill at the next moment and the state matter must take at the next moment.

By the way, for matter exists in this universe, the movement that occurs in matter must be physically exact, and, for the movement that occurs in matter to be exact, the basis of the movement must be computed exactly based on the measured values. (This is logically inevitable).

And the measured values and the computed results are ideas.

In other words, in matter, ideas occur always as basises of its exact movements.

8) The source of ideas which occur in matter

However, the true (functional) nature of matter is internal actions embodied with energy. And entities else than those actions are not contained in matter. Matter is composed only of internal actions (embodied with energy).

Therefore, ideas that occur in matter cannot be entities embodied with energy but are presumed to be something strange else than entities.

And, the movements of actions and the operation states (or, situations) of actions are conceivable as what occur in matter in the lapse of time. What are presumed to occur dynamically are these only.

By the way, it seems that the movement or state of some entity that occurs only in the lapse of time is not the entity itself but, in a sense, peculiar.

However, the movements or states of actions occur actually as what are embodied dynamically by actions as entities.

For this reason, the dynamic movements or states of actions that are peculiar may come under ideas that occur in matter. We cannot find it anywhere else.

However, it is speculated that the operation of actions inherent in matter is originally fulfilled without taking time and completed every moment. (For this reason, in this universe, matter's state and physical events's movements are updated without time and always continue to be maintained to be up-to-date). Thereby, the operation of actions inherent in matter does not continue in the lapse ot time.

Depending on this, not the movements of actions in the lapse of time but the operation states of actions which fulfill ideological functions at every moment may come under the ideas that occur in matter.

(For this reason --since ideas that occur do no continue in the lapse of time--, it is inferred that senses (with qualia) by no means occur at the level of matter, from elementary particles, etc. down).

Let's call this idea which occurs at the level of matter a physical idea.

9) The emergence of senses and sentient consciousness

Two actions which fulfill ideological functions, the measurement action and the computation action, are included in compositional actions inherent in matter. However, it seems that, at the stage of matter (as a single quantum), their operations are completed in an instant and their states (= physical ideas) do not yet continue in the lapse of time. For this reason, it is speculated that the slightly strange things of their operation states do not yet cause senses (with qualia).

The quality of physical consciousness which emerges in a physical system is microscopic. On the other hand, the physical consciousness itself is a macroscopic and huge physical event. Accordingly, it is surmised that the functions of the sensation action and the thinking action inherent in physical consciousness do not finish up in a flash, but come to continue, changing subtly, in the lapse of time, though it's a short time.

The operation states of some huge action as an entity in the lapse of time is not the entity itself but, in a sense, peculiar. The diachronic continuation of operation states of an actions may be figuratively interpreted as something like self-assertion which arises only in the lapse of time, of the function of an action.

And, since the operation states (= physical ideas) of an action is not the action itself, the continuation like self-assertion may also be possible to be evaluated like shadows, traces, projection, or map of the function of an action as an entity.

And, the continuation of a physical idea which can be evaluated to be like a shadow or map may come under the occurrence of a sense. Something like a shadow, trace, projection, or map in the lapse of time, of the function of an ideological action which is promoted to one macroscopic and (relatively) huge, may be a sense (with a quale) felt by consciousness.

In other words, the diachronic continuation (= something like a shadow, trace, projection, or map of a physical idea) of a physical idea (= the operation state of an ideological action inherent in matter) that occurs in matter (as a quantum), inside a macroscopic and huge physical system --for example, a single-celled organism, a cell, or a formation process of a crystalline mass--, is promoted to a sence felt by (macroscopic and huge) consciousness emerging there.

And, this sense which is like a shadow, trace, projection, or map of the physical idea seems to be what is called an idea (emerging in our consciousness).

Moreover, it is speculated that a sense --bodily sensation / a sense of thought / what is called an idea--, since it is but like a shadow, trace, projection, or map of the operation state of an ideological action as an entity, is not physical. In this universe, only a sense (= idea) felt by consciousness doesn't seem to be physical. That only seems ideological.

And, the combination of senses --bodily sensation and senses of thought-- emerging in huge physical consciousness seems to be what is called consciousness.

(What brings sensation is the sensing action of the huge physical consciousness. And, the source of the sensing action is the measurement action inherent in matter (as a quantum). For this reason, in the first place, physical consciousness which is huge and a first person subject has a perceptive ability (= fused one of a large number of measurement actions). And, this perceptive ability inherent in physical consciousness seems to perceive senses --bodily sensation and senses of thought-- that occur in itself, on its own. And, the content itself of the perception, as a shadow or map of the operation state, seems to compose of what is called our consciousness).

This consciousness may be ranked as sentient consciousness --or, mental consciousness / ideological consciousness--. In other words, our consciousness may be like a shadow, trace, projection, or map of the operation state of physical consciousness.

By the way, the senses (ideas) felt by us occur in the lapse of time and disappear. This seems to just correspond to the dynamic change of the operation state of physical consciousness. If the operation of physical consciousness becomes active --busy-- about some thing, a sense (idea) occurs about the thing, and, if the operation will come to an end --become idle--, the sense will disappear.

By the way, moreover, although senses are only felt by dynamic and transitory (mental) consciousness, which does never remain the same state during its emergence, during a short time, it's, in a sense, a surprise that what is not physical occurs in a physical world of this universe.
