4-25 “You keep trying to figure out what’s ‘best’ for you”

In the passage above, Neale asks God why it often takes so long for the reality he chooses to become manifest.
One of God's answers is striking:
**"Because you keep trying to figure out what's 'best' for you."**
Neale then asks a further question:
**"Shouldn't I try to determine what is best for me?"**
God replies:
**"When making any decision, there is only one question that truly matters: Does this choice express who I really am?"**
Every decision in life involves many different factors.
For example, when choosing a job, we naturally consider the type of work, working hours, salary, career prospects, qualifications, family circumstances, and many other conditions. We often spend enormous amounts of time comparing these external factors in an effort to find the "perfect" choice.
According to *Conversations with God*, however, this search for the "best" option can easily become a trap. There is no need to exhaust ourselves trying to calculate every possible outcome or guarantee that our decision will be perfect.
Instead, the essential question is much simpler:
**"Does this choice allow me to express the person I truly wish to be?"**
When we make decisions from that perspective, we stop chasing perfection and begin living authentically.
If we spend too much time analyzing every possibility, the opportunity itself may pass us by. In trying to avoid making the wrong choice, we may lose the very experiences our soul came here to have.
From the perspective of *Conversations with God*, the purpose of life is not to make the perfect decision, but to make choices that faithfully express our deepest self.
