According to *Conversations with God*, money is simply one of the many tools we use to live our lives. In itself, money is neither good nor evil. Its moral quality depends entirely on how human beings choose to earn it, use it, and share it.
Throughout history, people have witnessed greed, corruption, exploitation, and injustice associated with money. As a result, many have unconsciously developed the belief that money itself is dirty, corrupt, or inherently evil.
*Conversations with God* challenges this assumption. It teaches that money, like everything else in existence, is an expression of God's energy. Therefore, money itself is not the problem; only its misuse can create suffering.
As discussed in Section 4-17, *Conversations with God* teaches that the soul's fundamental principles are to honor the free will and consent of others and to avoid causing harm. These principles apply equally to financial matters.
When money is earned honestly, through mutual agreement and respect, and when it is used in ways that do not harm others, there is nothing spiritually wrong with possessing or enjoying it.
From this perspective, money is not something to fear or reject. Rather, it is a neutral tool that can be used either to express love, generosity, and creativity—or, if misused, to express fear and separation. The responsibility lies not with money itself, but with the consciousness of the person who uses it.
