Another beginning, end, and future
Mary was horrified.
Yuki stepped closer.
Mary and Rika were still in each others’ arms, Rika’s fingers still on her lips.
“It’s getting steamy in here, you two look amazing together.”
Mary was visibly surprised by Yuki’s reaction.
“I- I’m so so...”
She could hardly speak.
Yuki sat next to her.
“Don’t worry, I figured you two still have feelings. And, Rika is doing the fake kissing thing.”
Rika was equally surprised at Yuki’s calmness, though she could have expected it.
“We agreed this is only for tonight, and never again.”
Yuki smiled and took Mary’s hand.
“I know you loved Rika, and maybe still do. I can totally see why. But, you have Kaede now.”
Tears began forming in Mary’s eyes.
“I know, this was so unfair of me.”
Yuki tilted her head.
“It’s ok to end it on a good note, but now give your whole heart to Kaede. She’s really head-over-heels for you.”
Mary nodded as she blinked away her tears.
“Now, I can. She’s like no one I’ve ever met; it’s way too soon, but I may love her.”
Yuki and Rika made eye contact and blushed.
“Go at the pace you both feel works.”
Mary smiled.
“Right. I need to talk to her about, this, also.”
Yuki patted her hand.
“She may not have been as understanding as me if she was the one who found you two in here, but she’ll appreciate it. First though, go sit with her out there.”
Mary stood up and bowed.
“Thanks.”
“It’s fine, just go make a move on her already.”
Mary blushed and bowed again.
Yuki watched as she disappeared into the darkness of the other room.
“Thanks, and sorry.”
Yuki turned around and kissed Rika, who had expected a scolding.
“I was actually really jealous of her.”
“Do you want a fake kiss too?”
Yuki smiled.
“I’d rather have a real one.”
Yuki sat in Rika’s arms.
“You really loved each other.”
“Yes.”
“Do you still?”
Rika hesitated to answer.
“I’m not going to be mad. I mean, I totally have a crush on her.”
Rika giggled, and patted her head.
“Yes, and no. I gave her my heart and one time, and she gave me hers. We never ended it really, we just pulled away, and missed each other a lot. And. I think that was our final goodbye.”
Yuki kissed Rika’s hand as she held it.
“I’m glad.”
Rika smiled.
“You love to put on a brave face, but I know at some level you’re bothered by this.”
Yuki silently nodded.
“I’m sorry to that part, this is something that I should’ve ended long before we met. But, it’s done now, and that part and the rest has my undivided love.”
Yuki made a quiet purring sound as Rika patted her head.
“That part forgives you. And, I accept your undivided love. But, you have to share with Yuri fan fiction, my shows, and Twitter.”
Rika rocked her and Yuki slowly.
“I’ve accepted that long ago, and your lack of tidiness.”
Yuki blushed.
“I’ve totally gotten better about it.”
Rika poked Yuki’s pouted cheek.
“There’s still room for improvement.”
“I end up always doing your laundry anyways.”
Rika blushed.
“I- It gets mixed up in the basket!”
“You hardly ever do it.”
“I just like to use all my clothes before washing them.”
“You’re just lazy about it.”
Rika now pouted.
“Sorry.”
“You can work on it. Just remember, I end up seeing all your delicates.”
Rika blushed even more.
“That’s so embarrassing!”
Yuki poked her cheek.
“Then do your laundry.”
Yuki then looked away and blushed.
“And... It’s not like it’s that big of a deal.”
Rika smiled.
“Thank you. For everything.”
The same twinkling look appeared in Yuki’s eyes, this time reflecting the moon.
“I’m always here for you.”
Rika hugged Yuki a bit tighter.
“Can I ask something of you though.”
Rika nodded.
“Anything.”
“Can you kiss me now?”
