The Gift of Lightning
Since seeing Guts I had decided to spend my time resting at home. It didn’t really hit me until I got back but when I finally lied in my own bed the exhaustion hit me hard and I was out for a full day. From resting that long I had felt much better than before, and from the looks of it so did Pebble. His card no longer said he was damage and he had even regained his lost arms. I assumed that was because he was a golem but then it seemed like when he remained as a card his condition improved at a much faster rate then when he was out and about. I guess that means returning to card form makes recovery much quicker for anyone I make with the [Character] card.
Pebble when he was not resting in his card form preferred to be out and about. Although golems don’t need to rest whenever I would sleep he would do that same. It’s almost like he’s copying me.
After getting up I decided to check in on my father. Like most mornings he’s down in his forge. Unlike most people he didn’t perform any card crafts when making equipment. He did use his soul card on special occasions but he primarily did most of his work by hand.
He had just finished quenching a long blade. The heat permitting even outside his work place. After that he began to sharpen it on the whetstone. It had looked like he was almost finished with his latest work.
“Oh Arin is that you? Good timing, can you add more coal to the fire? Thanks for the help.” (Ludo)
“No problem, just give me a sec.” (Arin)
“Oh by the way, I heard Guts has almost finished that job of yours. Once you finish helping out around here you can head right over.” (Ludo)
“He’s finished already? Man I didn’t realize. The time must have slipped past me.” (Arin)
It was just a bit longer until I would finally have the lightning fang tigers material cards. With those cards the creature I would craft would be stronger then anything I could imagine. Maybe those cards will make me a new, stronger tiger monster even more terrifying then the lighting fang. The sinister smirk on my face was a result of my imagination.
“You plan on crafting something crazy with those new cards right? If that’s the case I got a recommendation for you. Don’t rely to much on material from the same creator when crafting. Using to many might just waste everything you’ve collected so far.” (Ludo)
Father had a point. Just as there was high reward for using those new cards there was just as much risk in wasting them all on a gamble. The [Card Craft] skill was basically random. Depending on what materials you use and in what order you add them for the craft the end result could be drastically different from what one would expect.
“If you’re going to craft something proper then you should use this as a material too.” (Ludo)
From the other side of the room my father threw two katanas. I caught them with both hands but only after fumbling and nearly dropping them. I turned them both into a single card and looking into their information.

- These two blades act as one and can only use their full potential when together. The mettle is strong and light, making it easy to even sever stone. The users speed stat increases by 25. The skill [Storm Blade] can be used when wielding these blades.
“What the hell is this!” (Arin)
It adds 25 points to the user speed and lets them use the intermediate skill [Storm Blade]. With that skill you can create magical blades that can be launched at an opponent from a long distance. And it was rank six. The same rank as the lighting fang tiger.
“Are you sure you want me to use this?” (Arin)
“It’s no trouble at all Arin. It a good weapon but I can always make another one if I needed to.” (Ludo)
Father wasn’t exaggerating when he could make the same weapon whenever he wanted to. Knowing him that’s why he doesn’t used the [Card Craft] skill that often. As long as he had the material he could make a whole armory if he wanted to.
After helping my father out with little things around the forge I headed out and made my way towards Gut’s place. Pebble came along as well, riding atop my shoulder for convenience.
“Hey Guts, I’m back. Is everything ready?” (Arin)
“Oh Arin, you look a little better than last time, but you still look like shit. Anyway, I got everything right here for you. These are what you’ve been looking forward to isn’t it?” (Guts)
Guts placed multiple cards on the counter in front of him, revealing every material he was able to salvage from the lighting fang tiger.

- This pelt was taken from a beast with an affinity to lighting. The power of lighting still lingers within the pelt giving it high resistance to electrical attacks. Recommended material for making armor.
Lighting Fang Tigers Fangs

- These fangs are 12 inches long and are razor sharp. They are a good conductor for electricity and is a recommended material for lighting type weapons.

- Strong and sturdy bones of a ferocious beast. There is slight damage but that has not diminished any of their value. Recommended material for armor or weapons.
Lighting Fang Tigers Heart

- The heart of a wild beast gifted with the gift to manipulate lighting. The heart generates a small amount of electricity and is the core of the beast. Recommended material for potion making or other forms of alchemy.
Lighting Fang Tigers Mana Stone

- This stone is the culmination of all magical abilities compressed into one spot and is the physical manifestation of the magical beast’s mana. It is infused with lighting magic and is of the highest quality of mana stones. It is recommended to be used as a material for weaponry but its potential is nearly limitless.
Lighting Fang Tigers Meat
Rank: 5
- The meat of a strong monster with the ability to control lighting. The meat is of a little less value as it has sustain damage but is still a luxury ingredient. It is recommended to be used in cooking or alchemy. After ingesting this meat it increases ones resistance to electrical attacks by a small degree.

- The blood of a mighty beast clad in lightning. The blood is slightly poisonous and may cause paralysis to those that come in contact with it. It is a highly recommended ingredient for alchemy.
The cards laid out before me were unlike anything I had seen before. Almost every part of the beast was a useful material with the best abilities one could ask for. Plus some of them were in such great condition they had a + added on. The mana stone card was also a double + which was even more rare to see with a cards quality.
“What kinds of cards are these! This is unbelievable.” (Arin)
“You bet they are. I put my best effort into handling these materials. I with I could have gotten better quality with some of it but the main parts used for equipment I made sure were the highest quality possible.” (Guts)
“How much do I owe you for this?” (Arin)
“I took a little of the bones and meat for myself but you should have plenty leftover to not even notice, so that should cover most of it. So how about if you sell my those rabid rabbits you hunted before and that should cover the rest of the cost. How does that sound?” (Guts)
“Sound great to me. You got a deal.” (Arin)
I handed Guts my rabid rabbit cards and a small portion of the meat and bones of the lighting fang tiger. With that our deal was made and I had just acquire the ultimate cards for crafting. All that was left was to decide which cards I would use first.
