Roadside Bandit Slaughter
The four remaining bandits were rattled by our provocation, but that did not stop them from attacking us. Two of the bandits were preparing to charge. One of them was wielding a large sword and the other one had a mace and a small shield. The two ran at us with determined eyes, both holding their weapons high to strike.
“Idiot! Don’t just charge in dammit!” (Bradick)
The bandit leaders words didn’t do much. They were fueled by pure adrenaline to the point of not listening to anything they heard.
“Pebble shield form now!” (Arin)
At my command Pebble latched onto my left arm and used his [Transformation] skill to take the form of a shield. In this new form Pebble then used his [Harden] skill to fortify himself and blocked the first attack from the bandit with the sword. The sword bounced off Pebbles shielded form, leaving a wide gap to the left side of the bandits exposed. I then drew my dagger from my hip and slashed at the bandits waist. The bandit fell to the ground with blood spilling from his gaping wound.
“Bastard!!!” (Bandit 2)
With my body exposed from the last attack the other bandit swung at me with his mace while screaming in rage. Thankfully I’m not fighting alone. The bandit’s mace was effortlessly parried by Raidens katana. He then skillfully channeled lightning magic through his blades and cut through the bandit’s shield, taking his arm with it. In that same motion Raiden pierced his swords into the ground, freeing up his hands for a palm strike on the bandit’s chest, amplified with a little bit of wind magic. The bandit flies back from the blown, sending him flying into a tree behind the bandit leader.
“Well done Raiden.” (Arin)
“Thank you for the praise Master.” (Raiden)
Just like that there were only two enemies remaining. The bandit leader wielding two large axes and his last remaining underling the appeared to use a weighted chain.
“Boss we need to retreat. These guys are to strong.” (Bandit 3)
“Idiot! Where we run to. There’s no way these guys will let us go that easily. The only way of of this is if we kill them. I don’t plan to go down without a fight.” (Bradick)
“You seem to grasp the situation pretty well for a low life thug, but unfortunately for you, you had the misfortune to come across my master the way you did. Those that take lives should also be ready to lose theirs.” (Raiden)
“Screw that. I’m going to send you straight to hell you sons of bitches.” (Bradick)
“I’ll remember those as your last words. (Raiden)
“AHHHHHHHHH!!!!!” (Bradick)
The bandit leader Leaps into the air with both his axes overhead. Raiden pulls his katanas from the ground and as the bandit leader comes crashing down his axes collide with Raiden’s katanas. The shockwave rustled the trees around them, whipping up a cloud of dust. The bandit leader was definitely skilled with his weapons but with each attack Raiden skillfully dodged with minimal effort, hitting away his axes with his katana.
At one point the remaining bandit underling used his weighted chain to wrap around one of Raiden’s blades.
“Lets see how you handle this!” (Bandit 3)
Suddenly the chain ignited flames, traveling from the bandit towards Raiden.
“Do you think a little fire is going to hurt me. Know your place.” (Raiden)
Raiden created multiple magic circles around his katana and released a powerful lightning spell to shatter the chain into scrap. At the same time the bandit leader came up from behind Raiden’s blind spot.
“It’s over kitty cat!” (Bradick)
The bandit leaders axes began to glow a light reddish hue and in the very same instant slices down at Raiden’s back.
“I don’t think so.” (Arin)
Before the attack could land I had Pebble transform into a giant hand to grab the bandit leaders body mid-attack and slammed him to the ground.
“Damn it, he took down the boss too!” (Bandit 3)
The last bandit was now all alone, cornered like a rat. He tried to run away, but as he turned around Raiden had miraculously appeared behind him, cutting off his escape.
“Now it’s over.” (Raiden)
With those final words Raiden drives his katana into the bandits chest, piecing his heart in one fell strike. With that the all the bandits were fully taken care of. The bandit leader was still breathing but unable to move while pinned by the giant stone hand.
“Damn it! You freaks are monsters! Monsters!” (Bradick)
The bandit leader squirmed about as he continued cursing us out. Raiden nonchalantly walks up and holds the end of one of his katanas at the neck of the bandit, who was now at our mercy.
“Master shall I finish him off now?” (Raiden)
“Not just yet Raiden. Maybe we can get more out of him. (Arin)
“How do you mean.” (Raiden)
A devilish grin was in clear view on my face. This disturbed the bandit leader, making him sweat profusely.
“Now then Mr. Bandit tell us where your hideout is.” (Arin)
As I got closer and closer to the bandit flashing my evil expression the color on his face had turned ghostly knowing fully well that he would suffer much crueler fate then that of his fallen comrades.
After “persuading” the bandit leader he eventually led us to a small cave where that he used as his base. In it were dozens and dozens of material cards and money all in one huge pile. There was not as much weapons and armor as I would have liked but there were plenty of potions and rare monster materials to make up for it. The pile of money tallied added together roughly came to a staggering 113 gold coins. With that kind of money a person could live two whole years without a care in the world and still have plenty of money left over.
“Alright you’ve taken everything I had now. Are you satisfied now?” (Bradick)
“Yeah this is more than enough for us. Right guys?” (Arin)
Pebble nodded in agreement.
“Yes master. Quite the small fortune we’ve acquired.” (Raiden)
We had now fully taken everything the bandits had until there was nothing but an empty cave. I could probably make a lot more money selling some of the materials we found here as well. Currently we had no more worries when it came to money.
“Now will you let me go? I swear on my life I’ll turn over a new leaf. Just please let me live.” (Bradick)
The bandit leader was now broken physically and mentally. There was probably no chance of him ever hurting someone again with his current state but I didn’t want to take that chance.
“Sorry but it’ll be better for everyone if you just disappeared. Raiden now.” (Arin)
Before he could react Raiden swiftly severed the bandit leader’s head with one clean swing of his katana. His head hitting the ground with an expression that could only be described as despair.
With the bandits properly taken care of and their hideout striped of all its riches our group continued on its way to the town of Yarrin. Now that we had gained experience dealing with bandits I was more confident in making it as an adventurer. And so we continued on with more adventure waiting for us in Yarrin.
