ある日、ゲーム世界の中で、なぜか彼と彼女だけが“実体”になる。
周囲のプレイヤーやNPCは今までどおりCG／ドットで、吹き出しが浮かぶ。外のプレイヤーから見れば二人も普通のアバター。でも二人から見ると、互いだけが生身。
そして他のプレイヤーが彼女へ話しかける。
彼女は応えようとする。
でも通じない。
男は彼女の手を取る。
画面外へ連れていく。
――やっと、二人になれた。

This Side of the Screen
A man secretly burns with jealousy whenever the woman he likes spends time with other players in an online game.
Then, one day, something strange happens inside the game world.
For some reason, only the two of them become physically real.
Everyone around them — other players and NPCs alike — remains rendered in CG or pixel art, with speech bubbles appearing above their heads. To the players outside the game, the two of them still look like perfectly ordinary avatars.
But to each other, they alone are flesh and blood.
Another player approaches her and speaks.
She tries to answer.
But they cannot understand her.
The man takes her by the hand.
He leads her beyond the edge of the screen.
