The Travelling Medicine Seller and the Curious Drop | JP & EN
Once upon a time, there lived a man who carried something heavy close to his breast.
Night after night, that ‘heavy thing’ would settle upon his belly with a great weight.
Even so, the man treasured it dearly.
Then, one day, a travelling medicine seller happened to pass by.
The medicine seller took one look at the man and said,
‘Your belly must feel heavy every night. Here, have one of these.
…It may make things a little lighter.’
Wrapped in a small piece of paper was a single sweet.
