9 The development of original organisms

  《 (Leaflet) Physical legality of the work of a living body 》


I think that the physical legality of the workings of living bodies such as cells --spontaneous, independent, active, and productive movements-- has not been explained fully yet.


It's difficult to explain because, fundamentally, a new living body (life) is brought about by the work of the existing living bodies --reproduction / cell division--.


Even if we try to explain it, the parent's living body is already in operation without explanation, as a default fact.


Thereby, in order to explain it, it seems that the existence of the parent's living body needs to be grounded and explained first, in advance.


This basically means that the development of primitive organisms needs to be elucidated and explained.


I think that only when that is done will the physical legality of the workings of living bodies be proved.

Moreover, from crystals of snow down, many substances form morphologically exquisite crystals that seem to be advanced physical order, though static. Also, there is the formation of complex (organic) molecules around the hydrothermal vents on the seabed. Complex (organic) molecules also seem not to be formed naturally but are advanced physical order.


There must be other physical events where advenced physical order is formed naturally, but it's not clear. This is because, anyhow, those events occur naturally and it's not clear whether or not they fall under the natural formation of advanced physical order which defys the second law of thermodynamics.


By the way, because of the second law of thermodynamics that entropy increases, it's impossible that advanced physical order is formed naturally unless some basis, cause, or mechanism works.


And, including the work of a living body, nearly all those events come under autopoiesis --self-production / spontaneous, independent, and active production of one's own advanced physical order--.


In other words, it's guessed that many types of forms of autopoiesis occur --are fulfilled-- at a variety of places on earth, but the process is not explained fully yet. (If possible, it's desirable to be explained).




  《 A sketch of missing links in the movement of organisms (Important) 》


1) Missing links between the movement and thinking of the organism


 A) The movement of organisms --autopoiesis- is based on comprehensive (observation and) thinking.


  a) If thinking is material, there is no problem.


  b) However, there is a problem if thinking is immaterial.


2) A missing link between heat and the formation of advanced physical order of organism's movement


 A) The movement of the organism is a dynamic formation of advanced physical order and corresponds to autopoiesis.


  a) Heat and advanced physical order


 B) Material mechanism that can form advanced physical order based on heat


  ................


It seems that humans (and animals) move based on --affected by-- their thinking. For example, actions such as speaking, writing, playing musical instruments, painting, handling articles, operating machines, etc. simply based on thinking. These movements never occur unless the thinking is fulfilled by the brain.


(However, here, it's not that much as it is asked whether thinking is done materially at the substance called brain or done immaterially (in consciousness). In either case, actions base on thinking. Moreover, it seems that actions other than these are also controlled based on thinking).


Moreover, the work of organisms comes under autopoiesis --self-production / spontaneous, independent, and active production of one's own advanced physical order--.


And, comprehensive observation and comprehensive thinking (design / computation) of the entire living body are indispensable for autopoiesis. (In fact, it's also indispensable for autopoiesis that the constituent substances of the living body move in an integrate and cooperative manner affected by the outcome of thinking. Autopoiesis also needs integrateness). And these observation and thinking are ideological events. In other words, the movement of living bodies --unicellular organisms, cells, tissues, organs, organisms-- is intelligent actually.


And, all the external movements of the animal are realized by muscular movement. Then, it is judged that the muscular movement of the animal is always started and controlled based on (comprehensive observation and) comprehensive thinking --intelligence--.


In other words, there is a point of contact between the animal's external movement of muscular movement and thinking. (In fact, there is also a point of contact with the comprehensive observation side which is the input side of data (information). Otherwise, observation cannot be fulfilled). There is a point of contact between matter and thought which is considered ideological. There must be a point of contact between the idea of thought and matter.


And, from this, thinking is straightforwardly judged to be physical.


Then, judging from the way of thinking of human beings so far, it follows that there is a contradiction here. First of all, in the conventional way of thinking of human beings, the ideological things and the physical things are incompatible with each other. It's because, nonetheless, thinking is judged to be both ideological and physical. This is because thinking has two sides, ideological and physical, which are incompatible with each other. (In fact, consciousness which is responsible for observing action and thinking action has duality).


Then, in order to resolve this contradiction, the quality of thinking is asked in a little more detail. It follows that it is asked whether or not thinking is materially realized. This is because, if the thinking is materially realized, there is definitely a point of contact between idea and matter, and ideologicality is implied in physicality.


However, if thinking is not materially realized, then thinking is immaterially realized, but, in that case, strangely, it follows that the immaterial thing must also be physical.


By the way, here, there is a possibility to bring the ideological thing of thought in the field of physics. And, in order to resolve the contradiction, the ideological thing of thought must be put in the perspective of physics. (However, this is the case when it is judged that thinking is not materially realized).


Furthermore, from another point of view, there are also heat and physical order. In this regard too, it seems desirable to consider the legitimacy or non-legitimacy of the movement of organisms.


(By the way, it is expected that the suspicion of violation of the physical laws about the movement of organisms is acquitted of for the first time when the physical cause, effect, basis, mechanism, framework, factor, driving force, etc. for the natural formation of the original organism's body at the halfway stage where the original organism is not yet developed is elucidated).


In this way, the relationship between the movement and thinking of the organism is not yet fully explained. And, between the movement and thinking of the organism, it seems that there are roughly the following two missing links.


  ................


1) Missing links between the movement and thinking of the organism


 A) The movement of organisms --autopoiesis- is based on comprehensive (observation and) thinking.


  Is thinking material or immaterial?


  a) If thinking is material, there is no problem.


  b) However, there is a problem if thinking is immaterial.


This is because thinking is still not physical yet, and there is a break between thinking and matter, and thinking is not in the perspective of physics. (And thinking is strongly speculated to be immaterial). So there is an implicit missing link here.


2) A missing link between heat and the formation of advanced physical order of organism's movement


 A) The movement of the organism is a dynamic formation of advanced physical order and corresponds to autopoiesis.


And, the driving force of the movement of organisms is said to be the heat generated by the consumption of energy in cells.


  a) Heat and advanced physical order


However, the heat is a poor quality form of energy. And, it is fundamentally impossible that, because of the second law of thermodynamics, while heat is a driving force, an advanced physical order is formed naturally, without any basis. So, the heat generated in the cell cannot fundamentally be the driving force of the formation of an advanced physical order of organism's movement. Thereby, there is a fundamental missing link here.


 B) Material mechanism that can form advanced physical order based on heat


And, as a concept from another point of view, it can be assumed that, in a cell, even if heat is a direct driving force, an advanced and dynamic physical order of the movement of the cell can be formed because of the reduction of entropy production rate. And, By the work, the cell can be expected to concretely form the material mechanism that can perform such work specifically. And, if this is assumed, it's likely that advanced physical order can be formed, driven fundamentally by heat, without being blocked by the second law of thermodynamics.


This is likely. It doesn't seem altogether to be impossible. It's because entropy expresses the amount of messiness or disorder, and has deep relation to physical order. So, it's conceivable enough that, contrary to the increase in disorder, the reduction of entropy production rate has an effect of forming some physical order. Though the mechanism is not yet known at all, somehow, the reduction of entropy production rate becomes the basis or driving force for the formation of some physical order.


However, no further explanation is given for that part and there is also a missing link. The part between the reduction of entropy production rate through the generation of heat in a cell (organism) and the advanced movement of the cell (organism) --production of advanced and dynamic physical order / autopoesis-- is a missing link.




  《 The requirements for the development of original organisms 》


1) The roots of organisms and consciousness seems to be the preceding emergence of material intelligence.


2) The formation of advanced and dynamic physical order by the reduction of entropy production rate.


3) A question about the basis or driving force of the development of original organisms.


4) The requirements for the development of original organisms.


5) It's not that only contingent mutation and natural selection have been the impellent force for the evolution of organisms.

1) The roots of organisms and consciousness seems to be the preceding emergence of material intelligence.


Suddenly, but the roots of organisms and consciousness (= intelligence) seems to be the preceding emergence of material intelligence. It's surmised that everything starts from the preceding emergence of material intelligence. The preceding formation of material intelligence is the key for the development of organisms.


2) The formation of advanced and dynamic physical order by the reduction of entropy production rate.


One of the missing links about the movement of a cell (living body) --autopoiesis-- is on the reduction of entropy production rate. It's assumed there that a cell can fulfill autopoiesis because material mechanisms, which can form advanced and dynamic physical order of the cell by the reduction of entropy production rate, are already formed in the cell, However, no further explanation is given.


(In the first place, the movement of a cell violates the second law of thermodynamics, and the movement is inteligent and cannot do without the work of intelligence (= comprehensive observation (information gathering) and comprehensive thinking (computation / design) about the whole of the cell). These things are not explained).


(By the way, whether the work of intelligence is material or immaterial, it's not a problem here. In either case, intelligence is essential for the autopoiesis in a cell. This is inevitable necessity).


However, this is likely. This is because entropy expresses the amount of messiness or disorder and has deep relation to the physical order. So, it can be assumed that, contrary to the increase of disorder, the reduction of entropy production rate can have an effect of the formation of some physical order.


3) A question about the basis or driving force of the development of original organisms.


And, the assumption in question here seems to imply an important thing.


Let's consider the circumstances in a little more detail.


First of all, in the assumption here, the fact that such mechanisms are already formed in a cell is the premise for autopoiesis in a cell. However, the preceding formation of the mechanisms, which is supposed to be the premise, is not at all grounded. The legitimacy of the formation is not explained at all. That is to say, the assumption constructs logical circulation in that the important premise is not grounded either.


In the assumption here, the advanced material mechanisms that are already formed in a cell fulfill the advanced work of the cell, and, conversely, the advanced work of the cell forms the advanced material mechanisms of the cell. (So the movement of a cell is autopoiesis). However, to this extent, it's difficult to determine which comes first. It's similar to the chicken and egg relationship.


And, if that vicious circle was gone back, the development of original organisms will be come across eventually.


That is to say, the assumption here --advanced material mechanisms that can form advanced physical order of a cell are already formed in the cell-- is fundamentally based on the a priori existence of original organisms. However, in the first place, the development of original organisms has not yet been elucidated and explained. The assumption implicitly contains a question about the development of original organisms, but that question has not yet been answered. And, the assumption will not be legitimated and cannot be asserted unless any answers to the question are given. (Thereby, it seems desirable that the development of original organisms is clarified by some means or other).


Let's say here that, owing to some physical cause, effect, basis, mechanism, framework, factor, driving force, etc., the body of an original organism can be formed naturally.


However, if the body is still in the process of formation and not yet completed, the organism is not yet alive and cannot fulfill life activity on its own. That is to say, there are not yet material mechanisms already formed and their work cannot be expected.


Nonetheless, in that situation, if the advanced physical order of a living body is produced --in actual fact, the body of an original organism must have been produced in such a situation--, it follows that the order is not produced by the advanced material mechanisms already formed in the living body, fundamentally driven by the generation of heat and some physical effect through the reduction of entropy production rate, but is produced by other physical cause, etc. that are already present there before the living body is formed.


In other words, the fact that organisms fulfill autopoiesis --the movement of organisms comes under the formation of advanced and dynamic physical order-- implicitly implies that there must be present there some physical thing that can form original organisms's bodies and works, before the development of original organisms. It's equivalent.


In short, before an original organism can develop, some physical cause, effect, or impellent force that can form the body of the original organism must exist there. This is inevitable necessity.


In more detail, it is expected that, at the place where the body of an original organism is formed, there must be present beforehand something physical --some physical cause, effect, basis, mechanism, framework, factor, driving force, etc. that has intelligence-- able to chemically synthesize various molecules --in addition to simple molecules, complex molecules too-- prerequisite to the body, put them together purposively, and combine them in a consistent way. (Here, intelligence means a combination of a comprehensive observing action (information gathering) and a comprehensive designing (computing / thinking) action).


Or, it's also conceivable that material intelligence specific to the unfinished living body will emerge when the living body becomes complicated to some extent during the formation of the original living body by external intelligence. This specific material intelligence also emerges through the same cause, effect, or impellent force with the emergence of the external material intelligence. And, it can be conceivable that this specific material intelligence takes over the work of the external material intelligence, and, by its work, the formation of the living body is accelerated.


And, intelligence is necessary because the body of an organism is formed from countless substances and each substance is separate one another. If a single advanced integrated body of the body of an organism is formed from substances separate one another, what brings integrateness and comprehensiveness to the whole of substances is indispensable. Through its work or influence, every substance concerned can move integrately and cooperatively, and can form the single advanced integrated body of the body of an organism. Every substance concerned must be affected by the design (thinking / computation) by comprehensive intelligence that can survey the whole. And they must move externally.


To put it shortly, in order for an organism to be able to develop, some material intelligence that has influence upon substances must exist there in advance.


4) The requirements for the development of original organisms.


So far, the requirements for the development of original organisms have been roughly inferred.


Comprehensive intelligence that can design (think / compute) the overall physical order of the place at the next moment based on the physical properties of substances there and material situation and can affect the whole of substances is necessary. In a word, intelligence is the requirement for the development of original organisms.


However, sucn intelligence doesn't want to form the body of an organism in particular. Sucn intelligence doesn't bring always the development of an original organism. Such intelligence doesn'thing but simply continues to design (compute) the overall physical order of the place at the next moment based on the physical properties of substances there and the situation of the substances.


However, it's expected that, in a situation where the formation of original organisms can be brought --for example, around the hydrothermal vents on the seabed--, the formation of physical order there will be bound for the formation of original organisms. That will come to fruition of the development of original organisms as a result over a long period of time.


And, the intelligence are not required to manipulate substances directly. It would be good if substances will move on their own affected by the designed (computed) result by the intelligence. (However, here, a serious problem is expected about the fundamental interactions).


The requirements for the development of original organisms --these are the requirements of intelligence too-- are expected to be as follows.


a) Comprehensive observation about current material state and situation of the whole of the place (or, of a living body). (Sensation / the five senses / information gathering / input side / ideological event)


b) Comprehensive design of the state and situation of the whole of the place (or, of a living body) at the next moment, based on the comprehensive observation. (Computation / thinking/programming / functional side / ideological event)


c) Substances which exist in the place (or, are constituents of a living body) move integrately, cooperatively, and consistently, affected by the (ideologically and) comprehensively designed (computed) result. (Influence on constituent substances / output side / material event)


Requirements a) and b) are ideological --immaterial / mental--. And those are also the requirements of autopoiesis. Of cource, the requirement c) is alse the requirement of autopoiesis.


And, there must necessarily be a point of contact between the comprehensive observation of the requirement a) and matter. Otherwise, observation is not possible in the first place. Thereby, observation must necessarily be physical while it's ideological. In a word, the ideological is also physical. And, the design (computation / thinking) of the requirement b) also seems to be physical.


The design of the requirement b) is presumed to be fulfilled in the direction of forming and sustaining the physical order of the whole of the plcase (or, of a living body). In autopoiesis, such a work is exactly fulfilled. (In the first place, at quanta such as elementary particles, etc., various matter actions work in such a direction).


However, there is not a framework that enables these requirements a) and b) yet.


About the requirement c). First of all, it seems that humans (and animals) move based on --affected by-- their thinking. For example, actions such as speaking, writing, playing musical instruments, painting, handling articles, operating machines, etc. simply based on thinking. (In actual fact, there is also a point of contact at the comprehensive observation side which is the input side of data (information). Otherwise, observation cannot be fulfilled). There is a point of contact between matter and thought which is considered to be ideological. There must be a point of contact between the idea of thought and matter.


And, from this, thinking is straightforwardly judged to be physical.


(However, just like bodily sensation --comprehensive observation--, the very idea of thought is presumed to be like a shadow of the thinking action's movement. So it may not be physical. It seems that the very idea of thought is not an entity that is embodied by energy).


However, there is not a framework that enables this requirement c) too yet.


(By the way, it's expected that this thing is closely related to Newton's laws of motion, the fundamental interactions, the law of the conservation of energy (the first law of thermodynamics)).


(By the way, moreover, bodily sensation (and senses of thought) are ideas, and the work of thinking is started by the occurrence of (bodily) sensation. Thoughts don't arise without the occurrence of preceding senses (ideas). (So, it follows that, if there are not any ideas in consciousness, consciousness and the thinking action are in an idling state. This is one meaning of "emptiness" from the perspective of the natural sciences. (There are two cases of consciousness being empty). And, if every bodily sensation was deprived of, our subjective consciousness will lapse into a perfect idling state and fall asleep --disappear-- in a second). Thinking is activated only after it received input of ideas caused by the external physical events).


(By the way, furthermore, intelligence must be physical and ideological. Intelligence is, so to speak, material intelligence. Material intelligence must wear the duality of physicality and ideologicality. And it can be called consciousness at a material stage / material consciousness. Material intelligence is the origin of consciousness. In the first place, there is no essential difference between the quality of living consciousness (intelligence) of an organism and the quality of material intelligence that is inanimate).


Depending on this, it's desirable that, prior to the development of original organisms, the physical cause, effect, basis, mechanism, framework, factor, driving force, etc. for the formation of their bodies is elucidated. It is what meets the indispensable requirements for the development of original organisms. Only after the elucidation, the movement of organisms that appear to violate the known laws of physics --at any rate, the movement of organisms bases on ideological (immaterial) thinking and violates the second law of thermodynamics-- will become legitimate successfully. The movement of organisms will be acquitted of the doubt of violation of the physical laws.


5) It's not that only contingent mutation and natural selection have been the impellent force for the evolution of organisms.


And, from the fact that the preceding material intelligence is indispensable to the development of original organisms, it's surmised that it has been practically impossible that organisms have evolved only by contingent mutation and natural selection.


Mutation is random and fundamentally lacks of comprehensive consistensy and positivity. For this reason, it seems that almost all contingent mutation were spoiled in a short time and didn't continued due to the second law of thermodynamics. Even if random signs of evolution were budded owing to the contingent mutation, they will easily break down into pieces. Moreover, there is no time limit in the second law of thermodynamics and nature.


Rather, the active and positive work of intelligence (consciousness) emerging in a living body seems to be the chief impellent force of evolution. The sustainable and sound evolution of organisms needs consistent positivity. It is brought only by comprehensive and forward-looking intelligence.


Intelligence is not only the key for the development of original organisms, but also the key for the evolution of organisms. Organisms have been able to evolve only through the steady work of intelligence and autopoesis.




  《 Thick wall of the second law of thermodynamics 》


The second law of thermodynamics loosely states that "entropy increses". And, because of this law, physical order will be lost naturally. Things will break down into poeces naturally over time. Things will naturally diffuse, get homogenized, and become chaotic. So is information --ideas such as bodily senses and thoughts--. Information will also be lost. (By the way, the direction in which things get disorderly is the direction in which time passes).


Entropy, simply put, is the amount of messiness (disorder).


And, in almost all physical processes, messiness will increase and physical order or information will decrease. So, generally, it is said that entropy increases. This is the general idea of the second law of thermodynamics.

With relation to the second law of thermodynamics, the following can be said about physical order.


1) Because of the second law of thermodynamics, physical order will collapse naturally over time.


2) Because of the second law of thermodynamics, advanced physical order is not formed naturally. Even if it is formed, there is a limit.


For instance, heat is a low-grade form of energy and make entropy increase directly. And physical order is lost. For this reason, it's impossible that heat becomes direct driving force and advanced physical order is formed naturally. This is essential. It's impossible that low-grade heat becomes direct driving force and high-grade, advanced physical order is formed naturally.


Thereby, if low-grade heat becomes fundamental driving force and high-grade, advanced physical order is formed, some physical factor that enables the formation of the physical order must positively participate between heat and the physical order formed.




  《 Features of the work of thinking (thinking action) 》


a) Thinking is immaterial and cannot be fulfilled materially.


b) An idea of thought and the thinking action are great.


c) An idea of thought and the thinking action are comprehensive.


d) The subject who fulfills the thinking action is great, comprehensive, and integrate.


e) Preceding bodily sensation is indispensable for the fulfillment of the thinking action.


f) The thinking action, along with the work of the bodily sensing action, constitutes the intelligence.


g) The thinking action, along with the bodily sensing action, is the foundation or a basis of autopoiesis.

a) Thinking is immaterial and cannot be fulfilled materially.


Thinking is physical but immaterial. (Moreover, ideas are not even physical. And, senses of thought and bodily senses come under the idea).


b) An idea of thought and the thinking action are great.


An idea of thought is formed from innumerable constituents such as senses and logic, and must inevitably be great. Then, the thinking action is also great.


c) An idea of thought and the thinking action are comprehensive.


Since an idea of thought is formed from innumerable constituents, it must be comprehensive. If a thought is not comprehensive, it's just chaos and cannot be a thought. And the thinking action is also comprehensive. This is inevitable necessity.


d) The subject who fulfills the thinking action is great, comprehensive, and integrate.


An idea of thought and the thinking action are great and comprehensive. So the subject who fulfills the thinking action must also be great and comprehensive. And, it must be integrate too. This is also inevitable necessity.


e) Preceding bodily sensation is indispensable for the fulfillment of the thinking action.


Preceding bodily sensation is indispensable for the fulfillment of the thinking action. This is because the thinking action is necessarily started by the sensation (ideas). And, senses of thought also bring about succeeding thinking.


f) The thinking action, along with the work of the bodily sensing action, constitutes intelligence.


The thinking action is a part of the work of intelligence, and, along with the work of the bodily sensing action, constitutes intelligence.


g) The thinking action, along with the bodily sensing action, is the foundation or a basis of autopoiesis.


The movement of living bodies, such as cells, tissues, organs, etc., comes under autopoiesis --self-production / spontaneous, independent, and active production of one's own advanced and dynamic physical order--. And, the work of intelligence --bodily sensing action (comprehensive observation / information gathering) + thinking action (comprehensive design / computation)-- is indispensable to the fulfillment of autopoiesis.


For this reason, the thinking action, along with the bodily sensing action, is the foundation or a basis of autopoiesis. This is also inevitable necessity.




  《 Consciousness (intelligence) doesn't emerge at the material (external / macroscopic) facet of a living body (Expectation / very important) 》


It's expected that consciousness (intelligence) doesn't emerge at the material (external / macroscopic) facet of a living body. In other words, it's expected that the work of consciousness such as the bodily sensing action and the thinking action, etc. is not fulfilled materially.


There seem to be three ways to explain.


A) An explanation based on the comprehensiveness of consciousness


Since the work of consciousness needs to have great comprehensiveness, it cannot be fulfilled at the very aggregate of substances which doesn't have integrateness like a single quantum.


B) An explanation based on the fact that matter is a third person object macroscopically and perfectly inert externally


C) An explanation based on the fact that the fundamental interactions are essential actions of this universe and not compound actions


  ................


By the way, it's difficult to understand that consciousness is material. As the meaning, the following two things are conceivable.


i) Consciousness is substances. An organized aggregate of plenty of substances is consciousness.


ii) The macroscopic (external) movement of substances is consciousness. The organized macroscopic movement of plenty of substances forms the work of consciousness.


  ................


A) An explanation based on the comprehensiveness of consciousness


The gist is as follows.


The combination of the work of bodily sensation and the work of thinking is intelligence. (And intelligence is embodied by consciousness. Consciousness is intelligence). And, since intelligence (consciousness) deals with the whole of a living body --cell, tissue, organ, neural network, etc--, it must be a great and comprehensive integrated body. (By the way, in this universe, only a quantum has integrateness and comprehensiveness).


However, a living body, no matter how it is highly organized, is by no means an integrated body at the external (macroscopic / material) facet of substances. Innumerable substances that constitute a living body are just an aggregate of substances at the external facet of substances and is never an integrated body like a quantum.


For this reason, a living body (= a single aggregate of substances) can never form intelligence (= a single integrated body) at the external facet of substances. Intelligence (consciousness) can never emerge at the material facet of a living body.


(Therefore, it is expected that intelligence (consciousness) which fulfills the work of bodily sensation and the work of thinking has no choice but to emerge as an extremely peculiar quantum, at the internal (microscopic / immaterial) facet of a living body, superposing upon the whole of the living body. This is inevitable necessity).

Thereby, the work of bodily sensation and the work of thinking --the work of consciousness-- which are fulfilled only by intelligence are never fulfilled at the external facet of substances.


Shortly put, since an aggregate of substances doesn't have integrateness (and comprehensiveness) like a quantum, it's impossible that the work of intelligence (consciousness) which needs to have great comprehensiveness is fulfilled at the material facet of an aggregate of substances.


In short, since an aggregate of substances is not an integrated body like a quantum, it's impossible that the work of consciousness such as thinking, which cannot do without great comprehensiveness, (and sensation) is fulfilled at the very substance of an aggregate of substances.


Since the work of consciousness needs to have great comprehensiveness, it cannot be fulfilled at the very aggregate of substances which doesn't have integrateness like a single quantum.


In a word, the work of thinking and sensation is not fulfilled at the very aggregate of substances of a living body such as the brain, etc.

1) Consciousness has integrateness and great.


1-1) A living body moves based on --affected by-- the work of consciousness (intelligence).


1-2) The work of consciousness consists of the work of observation --information gathering-- and the work of thinking --design / computaion-- about the whole of a living body.


(One more, it's necessary that constituent substances of a living body move externally (macroscopically / materially) affected by the work of thinking, but it's an yet another issue).


1-3) Both the work of observation and the work of thinking are comprehensive about the whole of a living body, and hence great.


That consciousness is great and comprehensive is an indispensable requirement of consciousness.


2) An aggregate of substances (at the external (macroscopic / material) facet), however highly it is organized, is never an integrated body like a quantum. A living body as an aggregate of substances is not at all a single great and comprehensive integrated body at the external facet of substances, and doesn't have material integrateness like a quantum.


2-1) In this universe, only a quantum has material integrateness.


2-2) Suppose there is a single organized aggregate of substances here. However, no matter how highly it is organized, it is not at all a single material integrated body like a quantum. An aggregate of substances is still an aggregate of substances.


2-3) And, a living body is also a single (highly) organized aggregate of substances, but is still nothing but a single organized aggreagate of substances at the external facet of substances.


2-4) That is to say, a living body, at the external facet of substances, is not a single great integrated body, is nothing but a single (highly) organized aggregate of substances, and doesn't have material integrateness like a quantum.


3) Therefore, consciousness (which must be a great and compreheisive integrated body) can never emerge at the material facet of a living body.

(The work of) consciousness is consisted of bodily sensation and thinking, but, since it's cumbersome to consider at once for both, in the following, we will focus on thinking.


  ................


A') An explanation based on the comprehensiveness of consciousness


First, thinking (thought) must be something great that is formed from planty of components. Moreover, the overall thinking must has (integrateness and) comprehensiveness like a quantum.


However, a single organized aggregate of substances is never a quantum. For this reason, the foregoing case i) is unlikely. To be clear, it's denied. A thought is not material (macroscopic / external).


(This explanation is the same as the explanation at the item A) practically).

B) An explanation based on the fact that matter is a third person object macroscopically and perfectly inert externally


Moreover, matter is a third person object macroscopically and perfectly inert externally. Matter can move externally only after it's involved in some fundamental interaction passively.


The true nature of matter is microscopic matter actions, and matter is a trace left as a result of some fundamental interactions's work and likely like a scalar that doesn't have any spontaneous, independent, and active action. In a word, matter has no macroscopic active action macroscopically (externally).


For this reason, it's straightforwardly impossible that, no matter how it is highly organized, at the macroscopic (external / material) level, an advanced work (action) of thinking emerges in a single aggregate of substances or the material aggregate is promoted to a strange thing of thought.


In short, matter can never form the work of thinking macroscopically and cannot be the very thought.


Thereby, also in this regard, the foregoing case i) is denied. Thinking is not material (macroscopic / external) and not fulfilled at the external (macroscopic / material) facet of an aggregate of substances.

C) An explanation based on the fact that the fundamental interactions are essential actions of this universe and not compound actions


And, the macroscopic (external) movement of substance means that some fundamental interaction acts on the substance extrinsically.


Then, it follows that, in the foregoing case ii), plenty of substances are driven systematically and cooperatively by plenty of fundamental interactions, and, as a result, the overall movement, somehow, forms the work of thinking. That is to say, in this case, plenty of fundamental interactions must work on plenty of substances extrinsically, systematically, and cooperatively to form the work of thinking.


However, the fundamental interactions are essential actions that drive the physical world of this universe. They are never compound actions and can never act systematically and cooperatively (for some advanced and great purpose).


Thereby, the case ii) is also unlikely. To be clear, it's impossible.


The fundamental interactions, which externally drive an aggregate of substances, do not externally fulfill thinking about the aggregate of substances.


Thereby, in this regard, thinking is not material (macroscopic / external) and not fulfilled at the material (macroscopic / external) facet of an aggregate of substances.


  ................


Then, it follows that it's practically impossible that consciousness which fulfills thinking and bodily sensation is material, but, rather, consciousness is immaterial.




  《 Guesswork on the unnatural movement of substances in living things 》


In the first place, even though it's a tiny cell, if it is looked up from the size of ions, molecules, radicals, etc., there is a vast space inside it. So, it seems that even such a minute world is ruled by rigorous physical reality. Thereby, even within a cell, the change in state of substances must obey the (macroscopic) laws of physics strictly.


However, the microscopic thinking action borne by consciousness is a big thing which ranges over a great many underlying substances (quanta). Thereby, it's conceivable that, so as to form --or, sustain, update-- constructively and productively the whole physical order of a living body, broad and comprehensive computation which asks each substance for unnatural movement (or, change in its state) which violates ordinary laws of physics. (Otherwise, It seems impossible that the muscular movement and so on are brought about by thinking. (It seems that, even in various autonomous organs, unnatural movements of substances occur commonly)).


And, as the result of conprehensive thinking, it's conceivable that, for instance, some chemical reaction is requested to occur at some location in a cell. Then, so as to meet the request, it could follow that related substances are asked to move or rotate without physical causes.


And, such a thing is indispensable to form, for example, body's macroscopic motions. Moreover, it's necessary for the maintenance of a cell. It's because the activity of a living thing, fundamentally, bases on the activity of cells and the chemical reactions inside cells.


And, it is guessed that, in a living body, obeying ordinary known laws of physics, in order that such unnatural movements occur at substances, even though there is no basis, somehow or other electromagnetic force, attraction, momentum, conversion of matter --chemical reaction--, etc. must occur naturally --or, unnaturally-- in a way of following the big computed result by the thinking action. In short, substances must move --states of substances must change-- in a way of following the computed result by thinking.


However, the (macroscopic) movement of a substance --the state change of a substance-- can only be brought usually through the event where the substance is involved in some fundamental interaction. It's because a substance, (even though it internally (microscopically) continues to action spontaneously, independently, and actively), is completely passive outwardly (macroscopically).


However, the fundamental interactions cannot be occurred by only one substance. Thereby, it seems that, between plural substances, some fundamental interaction must occur unnaturally at the same time, so that the substances can move unnaturally. And, then, the substances and a cell come to be able to move in a way of following the comprehensive computed result by thinking.


Or, it may be that unnatural movements do not occur in the fundamental interactions, but, simply, in a single matter, causeless momentum, angular momentum, or energy occurs unnaturally. If this is the case, suspicious movements are confined in a single matter. Without expecting being ivolved in some fundamental interaction, it will do if the matter simply generates groundless momentum, etc. by itself (through making a good use of the fundamental operation among the matter actions). As a result, the matter can start to move without a fundamental interaction. However, in this case, the law of the conservation of energy may be violated.


This is very hard to think of seriously, but, it seems that, otherwise, living things cannot move at all spontaneously, independently, integrately, constructively, and productively.




  《 In relation to the thinking action, a problem is expected around kinetic interactions and the fundamental interactions (Strong conjecture) 》


It has already turned out that the bodily sensing action, the thinking action, and consciousness of human beings are at least physical. However, the quality of whether these are material (macroscopic) or microscopic --intangible, difficult to observe or measure, and known ordinary laws of physics are not applicable to-- is not yet clear. And, if the thinking action is not material, the fundamental interactions --or, some actions around them-- may occur unnaturally, influenced by the microscopic thinking action. So, the question of whether the thinking action is material or microscopic is important.


To investigate whether or not there is some problem around kinetic interactions and the fundamental interactions, it seems good that the circumstances are divided into several detailed cases.


  ................


To begin with, it's conceivable as a tentative possibility that no thinking action occurs in the brain. However, this is left out beforehand because of an empirical fact that the muscular movement needs the trigger by the thinking action and a subjective fact that the movement of thinking occurs in the brain anyway.


Then, the following cases can be considered.

QC: Quality of consciousness

However, it has come almost clear that consciousness is microscopic. So, the cases 1.1), 2.1), and 3.1) where consciousness is material are also excluded. What remain are 1.2), 2.2), and 3.2).

Case 1.2) ETF=Brain、QTF=Material、QC=Microscopic


In this case, the thinking action is performed materially at the substance called brain.


However, from the empirical fact that the senses of thought with qualia of thought are felt by consciousness, it has already turned out that the thinking action is performed in consciousness. (Since senses are just things like a shadow of some action's movement, it follows that the action is performed in the entity --viz. consciousness-- which feels senses. Senses are not transmitted between plural entities --for example, a substance called brain and the consciousness--).


So, this case is not a fact. It's excluded here.


By the way, if this case was true, the substance called brain comes to be an emulator of the thinking funcrion. However, it's impossible that what is merely material movements of an emulator --for example, something like the movement of electrons in an electric cirsuit or a FPGA, or something like the movement of an electromagnetic field-- is felt as senses of thought of logical computations by consciousness which is other entity. Even if the movement is conveyed to consciousness, it should, rather, be felt as bodily sensation.


Moreover, in this case, consciousness has no meaningful role. Consciousness remains at the most something like a shadow, monitor, interpreter, etc. for the material movement of the brain cells which are an emulator. And, it follows that human beings (and living things) are automatic machines essentially. (Though, before it, it's impossible that the movement is felt as senses of thought of the logical computation)

Case 2.2) ETF=Conscisns, QTF=Microscopic, QC=Microscopic


In this case, the substance called brain doesn't participate in the thinking action.


However, for instance, if some trouble happened to occur in the brain, consciousness are also affected harmfully. Moreover, consciousness is affected surely by medicines (chemicals). In this case, it is conjectured thin the brain cells are affected by the medicine first, and it is reflected on the state of consciousness. (If we limit ourselves to this thing, we can also regard consciousness as an epiphenomenon which supervenes on the brain). Moreover, from the theory of localization of brain action, the actional brain mapping, etc., it can be seen that the brain and the consciousness are related certainly.


From these things, it's unlikely that the substance called brain not only doesn't influence consciousness, but also doesn't participate in the working of the thinking action. It's not a fact.


So, this case is also excluded.

Case 3.2) ETF=Brain+Conscisns, QTF=Material+Microscopic, QC=Microscopic


Then, this is the only case which remains.


And, in this case, the activities of the brain is the collaboration between the brain cells and consciousness. It consists with the theory of localization of brain action and the actional brain mapping. It seems that, because of collaboration, if either one was missed, the brain will never work. Both are supporting each other.


Still, there are problems.


Firstly, because the situation of the brain cells influences the thinking action, some point of contact between (macroscopic) substances and (microscopic) consciousness is necessary. Since this is a thing on the output side of substances, the security of the fundamental interactions doesn't get threatend. However, the mechanism through which substances can have some effect on consciousness is necessary. (For instance, it's conceivable that, according to the situation of substances underlying consciousness, the thinking action of consciousness continues to be formed (updated) dynamically).


Secondly, it has already turned out that the thinking action is performed by consciousness. (Senses of thought being felt by consciousness --this is a subjective fact-- means that the thinking action is performed by consciousness). And, it's also almost certain that consciousness is microscopic.


So, if the movements of the brain cells occur owing to the influence of the microscopic thinking action without other material (macroscopic) causes, it follows that some actions which bring the movements must occur (unnaturally) through some unknown mechanism. It should be possible that the workings of some actions around the fundmental interactions are influenced (unnaturally) by the thinking action of microscopic consciousness. This is a thing on the output side of consciousness, but a framework --a framework in which physical causality could occur between the microscopic thinking action and the macroscopic movement of matter-- is necessary.


  ................


Only the last case 3.2) remained as a likely case. And, because it's almost certain that consciousness is microscopic, it seems that, influenced by the thinking action of microscopic consciousness, some actions around the fundamental interactions are likely to work unnaturally.
