――――第一波発生直後。
東京でのテロは海を越えて、全世界に駆け巡った。
特に9.11の同時多発テロ事件があり、テロというものに対して敏感な反応を示すアメリカは大々的に取り上げ始めた。
「This is the breaking news that just came in from Japan（たった今、日本から入ってきた速報です）, A terrorist bomb attack targeted a corner store（コンビニエンスストアを狙った爆弾テロが発生しました）」
アメリカ最大のニュースチャンネル、FBN（Federal Broadcast Newsnetwork）は時間を割いて報じ始めた。
キャスターのクリス・グラントは日本でネットニュース配信会社の記者をしている岡田理佐と繋ぎ、現在の状況を聞く。

過去に地下鉄サリン事件というテロ事件が起きていたことと、日本政府がアメリカの9.11の同時多発テロ事件をモデルケースとして想定し、危機管理センターの早期設置を実現させたことはテロに対して敏感なアメリカ人のクリスとしては驚きを隠せない。
「Mr.Owen, what do you think of this recent terrorist attack in Japan?（オーウェン、今回の日本のテロ事件はどう思う？）」
そして、クリスはスタジオのコメンテーターであるオーウェン・アナハイムに今回の事件の事を聞く。
オーウェンはカリフォルニアのフォスターシティに本社を置くカリフォルニア最大の電機メーカー、フォスターシティ・エレクトロニクスの元社長で、現在は経営コンサルティングを行っている。
コンサルティング先には日本の企業もあるため、日本通でもあった。

日本語表記で「鈴木の接客の時の態度が気に入らない。お客様は神様だろ。」とレビューが付けられていたので、翻訳機能で「"I don't like Suzuki's attitude when serving customers. Your customer is God."」という英語表記へ切り替え、その上でオーウェンはそのレビューを読み上げた。
そして日本人の"コンビニ観"に関する疑問を呈した。

スタジオのスタッフから新しい情報があると知らされたクリスは現在のテロ事件の状況を聞き出すことにした。
警察や自衛隊の細かい動きはどうなのか、理佐に訊く。

理佐は自分がいるネットニュース配信会社に入ってきた情報を話し、理佐が所属するネットニュース配信会社が映像までも提供した。
その映像は事件現場の手前で消防車両や救急車、警察車両が行き来する中、陸上自衛隊のトラックが入っていくのがわかる。
また、別の取材班によって入間基地の滑走路が見えるところから大型のヘリコプターが続々と離着陸を繰り返し、現場周辺のヘリが止まれる場所へと向かっていた。
さらに入間基地の滑走路内にはすでに近隣の消防署から来た救急車が待機しており、負傷者の搬送をしていた。
