In *Conversations with God*, we are told that people have a right to basic survival.
Simply being alive already has meaning.
The essence of life lies in experiencing the countless aspects of divinity. The various events that occur throughout our lives are the materials and tools for that experience.
Because we walk through life in order to experience divinity, it is natural—and even desirable—to make use of as many opportunities for experience as possible.
Yet this does not mean that a life has no value simply because one appears to “do nothing.”
Living in the physical world itself is meaningful. At the very least, it carries the meaning of directly experiencing reality.
Among human beings, some grow greatly and visibly, while others appear to grow more slowly or quietly.
From a deeper perspective, however, this difference is merely a matter of pace.
All people, traveling by different paths, will eventually arrive at the same destination: the Divine. Some take a shorter route, others a longer one—that is the only difference.
To live, in and of itself, is already to fulfill one’s purpose in life:
to experience divinity in one’s own unique way.
