The Strongest Hero

There were once eight Gods in the world of RODEM:

The God of Time, Earth, Fire, Wind, Water, Electromagnetic, and Gravity.

The eighth God was the most forbidden of all, but its existence was erased from history and unknown to modern books.

The Gods did not belong to either Mankind or Monsters.

They were beings beyond both worlds.

According to ancient legends, they were the only entities capable of freely crossing the divine barrier created by the Creator God.

As long as the middle barrier remained intact, the world stayed at peace.

But once the barrier broke, war between Mankind and Monsters would inevitably begin.

The Gods themselves were immortal through reincarnation. Every thousand years after their death, they would be reborn into the world once more.

Before the Great War, Mankind possessed fourteen great kingdoms across the southern world.

But when the barrier broke two thousand years ago, chaos consumed RODEM.

The Monster race invaded with overwhelming force, supported by ancient beings and several Gods.

Kingdom after kingdom fell.

In the end, only six kingdoms of Mankind remained.

The other eight kingdoms were conquered and occupied by Monsters.

To prevent complete extinction, the surviving kingdoms united and created the Mankind Empire within a massive barrier cast by the Ancient Heroes and the strongest sorcerers of humanity.

Since then, humanity has lived trapped within the barrier for a thousand years.

Among all the Gods, only one chose to stand beside Mankind:

The Fire God.

While the other Gods either sided with the Monsters or stood against humanity, the Fire God fought alone against six Gods during the final stage of the war.

The battle shook the world itself.

Flames covered the skies, continents split apart, and entire kingdoms vanished from existence.

Even while fighting six Gods alone, the Fire God continued protecting humanity until the very end.

Meanwhile, the Ancient Heroes of Mankind retreated and prepared the great barrier spell under the command and guidance of the Fire God himself.

The Fire God sacrificed his life to buy enough time for the barrier to be completed.

And before his death, he left behind one final command:

“Protect humanity until I return.”

The barrier was successfully cast, separating the world once again.

Humanity survived.

But the Fire God disappeared from history.

However

Jorem had arrived.

The five warriors quickly healed themselves using recovery magic and prepared to fight once again against the Monster Guardian and his three subordinates.

But Jorem simply smiled.

“Rest for now,” he said confidently, almost jokingly. “I’ll handle them myself.”

The five warriors exchanged looks before obeying his order.

Suddenly, a portal tore open in the sky.

The Fourth Calamity emerged.

Without hesitation, the Fourth Calamity launched an enhanced Water Sphere attack powerful enough to flood an entire city. At the same time, the Guardian and his three subordinates charged forward wielding mythical swords—divine weapons capable of absorbing mana and magical energy from anything they touched.

Jorem raised his hand.

A massive wall of flames erupted before him.

It was the highest-level Firewall Magic, a flame so destructive that it burned and consumed anything it touched.

The three subordinates’ swords were instantly devoured by the flames. However, the Guardian’s sword absorbed the Firewall itself and canceled the spell.

Jorem grinned.

In the next instant, he flew forward at a speed approaching the speed of light and formed a blazing flame sword in his hand.

He struck directly at the Fourth Calamity.

The Calamity blocked the attack with both hands—

—but his arms were severed instantly.

The Fourth Calamity retreated backward while the Guardian stepped forward to intercept Jorem.

Their swords clashed at near light-speed, creating shockwaves that shattered the ground and split the sky.

Meanwhile, the three subordinates prepared a combined magic attack from behind. Their spells locked onto Jorem with perfect accuracy.

But before the attacks could land, Jorem vanished.

He appeared beside them in an instant and cut all three subordinates in half with a single flame slash—while still continuing his sword fight against the Guardian.

At the same time, the Fourth Calamity regenerated his arms and unleashed a catastrophic Black Flame attack powerful enough to destroy three kingdoms.

Jorem blocked the black flames with one hand.

Then he absorbed them.

The battlefield fell silent.

The surviving subordinates barely managed to regenerate themselves before retreating, afraid they would die if they continued fighting.

Now it was a two-versus-one battle.

And Jorem was laughing.

Not out of madness—but excitement.

He was enjoying the battle.

Jorem was known as the strongest Hero in history, a man said to possess power equal to the Principal of the Empire Academy or even an Imperial General.

However, before the battle could continue further, a telepathic order from the Monster Council reached the Guardian and the Fourth Calamity.

Retreat.

The Guardian opened a portal, and both monsters escaped.

The expedition forces and the demi-human kingdom celebrated their victory.

The kingdom they had saved was known as the Kingdom of Pilipo.

The expedition entered Pilipo and immediately requested reinforcements from the Empire.

Soon, the Imperial Army and the Army of the Yugi Kingdom mobilized toward Pilipo under the command of General Hikadu of Yugi.

Even the fourth-year students of the Imperial Academy joined the operation. They were guided by seven instructors said to be as powerful as Heroes or Sidekicks.

Their expedition force would arrive at Pilipo within three days.

Meanwhile, the other five Hero expeditions also began returning to the battlefield.

Back at the capital of Pilipo, the Hero expedition was welcomed by citizens and kingdom officials.

A massive celebration was held.

They drank heavily, ate together, and discussed plans for defense and future attacks against the monsters.

Jorem looked toward CEE, the Sidekick.

“Do you agree with the plan?” he asked.

CEE calmly nodded.

“Yeah.”

The expedition members laughed.

The warriors continued talking about how Jorem had fought alone against a Guardian, a Calamity, and multiple subordinates.

But Jorem only shrugged.

“CEE could do it even better if he wanted to.”

CEE ignored the praise.

His real interest was rebuilding cities.

At the Imperial Academy, he studied engineering and economics. Because of this, he was assigned to oversee the rehabilitation of Pilipo Kingdom.

Under his supervision, roads were repaired, damaged buildings were reconstructed, farming systems improved, and new technologies were introduced to the people.

In only three days, Pilipo changed drastically.

Soon after, the expedition moved toward their next target.

But before they could advance further—

space distorted.

A Demon Lord appeared.

Demon Lords were beings even stronger than Calamities and Guardians. Only three existed, and each was said to rival the power of Imperial Generals.

This one was known as:

Demon Lord Craygon, God of Time.

Craygon possessed the ability to manipulate and stop time itself while also wielding every element at an extremely high level.

The world froze.

Time stopped.

Everyone became motionless—

except Jorem.

Craygon slowly walked toward him.

“Strong human,” the Demon Lord said calmly. “Why are you here?”

Jorem smiled.

The stopped time did not affect him.

“I came to reclaim what belongs to us.”

Flames gathered in his hand and formed a blazing sword.

With one swing, he pierced space itself, shattering Craygon’s time-stop magic before the Demon Lord could unleash his strongest attack—an ancient spell powerful enough to kill everyone on the battlefield.

But at that exact moment, CEE suddenly stepped forward.

Without hesitation, he slashed the space beside Craygon with his sword.

Craygon’s expression changed instantly.

Then he retreated.

Jorem exhaled and looked toward CEE.

“Thanks,” he said. “That attack would’ve killed us.”

The spell Craygon attempted to use required an Ancient Magic Bottle—a divine artifact created by God.

Only three were believed to remain in existence.

Craygon had already used one.

And CEE had canceled it.

Far away, within the monster-controlled Holino Kingdom, another war was beginning.

Guardian Furino gathered an army of five million monsters and demi-humans for an invasion of Pilipo Kingdom.

Furino was known as the strongest Guardian in monster history.

Elsewhere, deep within the Monster Domain—

the Monster Council gathered inside a massive dark hall.

Around the long table sat Calamities and high-ranking monsters.

But two seats remained empty:

The seat of the Monster King.

And the seat of the First Calamity.

The Second Calamity spoke first.

“I encountered a dangerous human.”

The hall became silent.

Then he continued:

“But more importantly…”

His eyes narrowed.

“The Fire God has been reborn.”

He was referring to Jorem.
