A large house, where few live.
Miss Hirano silently floated through the hall, as she normally did. The rice wine and snacks had been moved to the refrigerator, and the hands on the old clock had shifted to a later hour.
“I wonder if they need assistance.”
Being in her profession as long as she had the line between discretion and attentive was to be walked expertly.
She passed near the rooms and to her surprise, she saw the light was on and door open.
Miss Hirano’s eyes were drawn to the center of the room where Miss Akinomiya and Miss Sakura lay in each other’s arms atop the two futons.
She blushed at the sight, and felt a rare tear tickle her cheek.
Kaede had grown up before her eyes. Her quiet demeanor, and the life she was born into often left her all alone in this large house. But, it would’ve been out of place for her to say anything, she could only watch from the distance.
“I’m so happy for you Kaede. Please take care of her Miss Sakura."
She quietly turned out the light and slid the door closed.
