And they sat at a table next to where my father and staff were sitting.
そしてデビルたちのグループは、お父さんのグループのとなりのテーブルについた
Then they ordered luxurious dishes
そして彼らは豪快に注文し
and as soon as the dishes came,
そして料理が来たら
they devoured them.
貪り食った
And they were apparently holding a celebration party,
そして彼らは、明らかにお祝いをやっている雰囲気だった
since Devil was in a good mood.
つまりデビルはご機嫌
So I thought at first,

he’d extorted some money from someone.
デビルは誰かから金を巻き上げたんだろうって
But the situation was unexpectedly ‘good and clean’.

Soon I recognized that it was about the national championship of high school baseball
それでぼくはすぐに、それが甲子園優勝校の話で
on which they had been betting money.
彼らが賭けているんだとわかった
Since I had been so busy, being a double for my father and preparing for the ‘Duel’ and so on,
だけどぼくは替え玉作戦や決闘の準備で忙しく
I didn’t bet on it.
ぼくは賭けなかった
But certainly he did.
だけどデビルは賭けたみたい
I guessed he’d bet all of his pocket money on the unknown high school.
多分デビルは、有り金全部その無名校に賭けたらしい
“Boss is very perceptive!”

One of the sidekicks threw bouquets.
子分のひとりがお世辞を言った
Then Devil said,
するとデビルは言った
“No. No. I’s gunna bet on the most likely team.
ちがうんだ おれは本命に賭けたつもりだったんだ
But I made a mistake
だけど間違えて
and bet on such an unknown high school.
あんな無名校にかけたんだ
It was very lucky
ラッキーだったぜ
‘cause I was the only one.
あそこに賭けたのおれだけだ
So I’ve gotten all the money.
それで全部丸儲けよ
Well, it’s a celebration.
よし、お祝いだ
You guys eat as much as you want!”
おめえら好きなだけ食え
Listening to his words, Doc murmured.
デビルの言葉を聴きながら 茶トラ先生はつぶやいた

Well I guess the ‘Flow of Fate’ has changed.”
