替え玉作戦３
So the aircraft ran faster and faster on the runway
すると飛行機は滑走路でどんどん速くなり
and reached tremendous speed.
物凄い速度に達した
Then I was so scared and didn’t know what to do.
ぼくは怖くて固まっていた
But I had to do something somehow.
でもなにかしなければ
So I decided to move a stick to the back to maximum.
それでぼくは、送信機のスティックを目一杯引いてみた
And this, by chance meant that the elevator was in full-up position.
そしてそれは、たまたまそれは「機首上げ」の操作だった
Then the aircraft took off violently
で、飛行機は荒っぽく離陸して
and soon it took extreme nose up position
いきなりがばっと機首を上げて
ending up flying in a loop.
結果として宙返りを始めた
And it was no longer a demo flight but an aerial stunt.
もはや「デモフライト」ではなく「曲技飛行」
But I remembered the story
でもぼくはあるストーリーを思い出した
i.e. my father performed the demo flight perfectly
すなわち、お父さんはデモフライトに成功し
succeeding in the business meeting
結果として商談成功
going to the party
パーティーへ
ending up in lying sprawled out on a crossing and being run over!
結果として交差点で寝そべり轢かれる！
So I realized,
だからぼくは悟ったのだ
all I need is to fail in the demo flight!
デモフライトが失敗しなければ！
This meant that I should fly the aircraft as unstable as possible.
だから、飛行機を可能な限り、でたらめに飛ばさなければ
And I wandered what I should do
で、どうしようかな♪
watching the aircraft vacantly.
ぼけっと飛行機を見ながら考えた
Then I had an idea by chance
で、偶然思いついた
to move the stick from full-up position to neutral position.
「機首上げ」から「水平」へと、引いていたスティックを元に戻した
And this means that
すると
the aircraft flies in a straight line.
飛行機は「まっすぐ」飛んだ
By the way, the aircraft was flying in a loop in clockwise direction
で、飛行機は時計回りに宙返り中で
and it was just passing through ‘3 o’clock’ position.
ちょうど「３時」の位置を通過中だった
So, as soon as I moved the stick,
それでスティックを戻すや否や
the aircraft flew in a straight line,
飛行機はまっすぐに飛び始め
i.e. vertically to the earth!
そのまままっすぐに地球へ！
