"Yes, and they are a friendly bunch," Aleshia agreed, gazing at Cecelia, who was still trying to keep her place in line. After their brief chat, she handed a skewer to both Rebel and Daniel, adding, "I've gotten to know them well, and we've been able to complete the quests assigned to us. In a day or two, we should be heading back to finish the retrieval quest for the cat."
"Good job on completing the quests," Daniel congratulated. "Also, you don't have to worry about any consequences. The quests that the Alliance assigns can be tricky and often take longer to complete than those from the Adventuring Guild, so you shouldn't fret about it. As long as you finish them within a reasonable amount of time, there shouldn't be any repercussions."
Aleshia nodded, and the two of them left. Afterward, she served several more kids. As time passed, the lines grew shorter, and eventually, she, Liam, and Kelly were able to serve the remaining children. When it was clear that everyone had gotten their fill, the party prepared to leave the room, but not before saying their goodbyes to Aleshia. Kelly was the first to speak. "I suppose we'll see you in the morning. I enjoyed our time together." Next was Cecelia, who waved and added, "It was nice meeting you. I had fun." The rest of the group echoed similar sentiments as they left.
Now, Aleshia was left in the room without the party, accompanied by a few children, still eating the skewers. She decided it was time for bed, but before that, as if it had become her ritual, she wandered to the room filled with the cursed. Upon arriving, she watched those who were still asleep and looked for the ones she had yet to cure. It appeared that only two remained.
Once again, Aleshia used her magic to create a curing circle in collaboration with Lucia. Like always, Aleshia aimed to improve the design. After making some modifications, she conducted a few quick test runs. Satisfied that everything was functioning smoothly, she began to activate the circle, channeling energy into the spell. As had happened on previous occasions, the person in the cot suddenly awoke, thrashing and struggling, seemingly unaware of what was happening to them, as if their mind were somewhere else.
"Crap, we should restrain him before he hurts himself," Aleshia said gravely.
"On it," Lucia replied, conjuring a binding made of densely packed air that pushed against his body to immobilize him.
