Judged Worthless part4
I looked at the thing in my hand—something that had been just trash moments ago—my fingers trembling.
There had to be some kind of mistake…
But the words Wind Scarf were clearly displayed in front of me.
Ah—right! I still had that piece of equipment I picked up at the dungeon entrance today!
I reached into the caster‑mounted trash bin and pulled out the club‑like object I’d picked up at the start of my shift.
I used Appraisal again.
■ Club
Weapon (Damage: 70%)
Cannot be used
Weapon Power: 5
Repair Method:
• Mix Nyack tree sap with wood dust and pour it into the cracks, then let it set for 48 hours
• Remaining durability after repair: 1–2 uses
…It really was just a club.
But just like the scarf, even the repair method was displayed.
What even is Nyack?
I didn’t understand half of what I was seeing, but one thing was clear—my Appraisal had become something insane.
Feeling excited, I kept Appraisal active as I walked toward the next collection point.
Important items and completely unimportant ones alike popped up in front of me.
The overload of information made me feel dizzy, like motion sickness, and I crouched down on the spot.
“Ugh… I feel sick… How do I make it show only the important stuff…”
I struggled with my suddenly high‑performance Appraisal, but nothing worked.
In the end, I turned the skill off and continued walking normally.
As I collected the yellow dots shown on Auto‑Mapping and approached the next collection point, I noticed a cluster of blue dots displayed nearby.
“This spot’s along the way… so it should be safe, right?”
Nervously, I stepped off the usual path.
A stone wall towered in front of me.
The blue dots were inside that stone wall.
“…Inside the rock?”
My current equipment consisted of a caster‑mounted trash bin and cleaning tools.
That’s it.
Damn it… I guess I have to give up again since I have no gear…
Annoyed, I kicked the wall without thinking.
Rumble… rumble… rumble…
Suddenly, the stone wall began to move.
“Huh?!”
Dust billowed upward as the rocky surface slid aside, revealing what looked like an entrance.
Seriously, what kind of day is this?
First I get a new skill while doing my job, and now a mysterious entrance appears right in front of me.
Stunned yet unable to resist my curiosity, I cautiously stepped inside.
It wasn’t pitch‑black like I expected—the walls emitted a faint glow.
“This… this is…!”
I activated Appraisal.
■ Mineral Resource: Crystal (Blue)
Hardness: 30%
Transparency: 200%
High‑grade quality
It was a cluster of magic‑stone crystals.
I’d never seen them growing in such abundance.
They were beautiful…
I picked one of the stones growing near my feet.
It snapped off easily, leaving a fragment in my fingers.
I felt the urge to grab everything within reach, but for now, I decided to take just one section back with me.
I left the crystal grove and kicked the spot on the wall again.
Rumble… rumble…
The door closed.
Good.
Now no one else would find this place and strip it bare.
I quickly brushed sand over the spot to erase my footprints, then returned to the main path as if nothing had happened and hurried toward the collection point.
