Maple, dressing up in her new school uniform, stood by the long mirror.
Everything seemed perfect. She double-checked her school bag. Everything that was supposed to be there was there. She made sure nothing was missing, and left the house.
She gazed up to the sky. Most of the cherry petals has been blown off.
It was the first day of her high school.
As Maple walked through the front gate, she was astonished to find that the school building was almost as twice as big as her middle school. She had an urge to quickly photograph this new building, but as she wasn't sure if the digital camera was against the rules or not, she gave up snapping for now.
As Maple got closer to the entrance, someone called her from behind.
"Is that you? Is it really you, Maple?"
Maple twisted her neck to find the owner of the voice, waving at her.
It was, of all person, Syrup.
"Oh my, it IS you. You should have told me about where your new high school was!"
Syrup panted excitedly. Maple, also surprised, somehow managed to smile.
"Hi, Syrup. I didn't expect you either... What a pleasant surprise!"
