Issue No.4: It's Wish-Fulfilment Fantasy, It's Crime
My girl, it's not you wanting the guy so bad you did all the great lengths to pursue him. To you, it might be romance. But you might as well call it stalking.
I don't know about people foaming their mouths over dark romance, that subgenre should have just been well be put straight to the dungeon. Or prison.
Tell me what's your sickest fantasy. Tell me it scratches your itch bordering to complex guilty pleasure like criminal intentions. Maybe, something deranged.
But at least it's plastered as dark romance. You know, like, you know what to expect.
But to frame your intentions as pure and innocent as if your romance is a normal everyday experience, Hana-Kimi (1996) might want to revamp itself for 2026 sensibilities.
Hmm. How many decades have passed until then?
Oh, thirty years. Three decades ago.
At least you tried.
Now, it might look like yearning back in 1996 about this guy who's very promising. But if you're in middle school—yeah, shit—no. No young girl, no young woman in their right mind would wish to enroll themselves to an All-Boys School thinking it would be somehow a fuckin' wholesome experience. If anything, a boy hailing from an all-boys school is the last guy girls who know better would like to date.
When I was in middle school, I was playing Pou and Neko Atsume like I love those electric tabbie cats. I doubt if I'm like a 90s middle school who would go on for the entire year disguising as a boy.
1. Stalking
2. Deceptive
3. Obsession
4. The story truly believes that it's an innocent act. A.k.a Ignorant. Recommended for therapy.
But I'm still watching. Ha!
Guilty.
