Issue No.3: I Don't Bother with Eastern romance

Nah.

You give the big swords and all that, but baby girl ain't questioning the status quo. So by the time falling in love happens, what Beauvoir already stated:

"I will not delve deeper to the East since theirs hasn't yet that progressed," said by the one who produced the text what is personal is political.

Honestly, most of these romantic hero of the Eastern popular culture (I'm looking at you, Chinese Manhwa and Korean Webtoon, and problematic Japanese shoujo), it's screaming ***patriarchy*** and learned helplessness.

What do I know? I usually abandoned the early chapters by the time a trope about "dominant" Male Lead (ML) goes on to commit some **sexual assault**, **rape** and then **abuse**.

I've also seen one in the West. But in the West I'm more familiar with and thus "Familiarity breeds contempt." I curse the very Western tropes down to the core. Say, "fuck gender roles!"

"Fuck structural feminity and masculinity."

"Fuck gender essentialism."

"Fuck that author who wrote gender dimorphism."

Eww shit.

And if it wasn't enough...

"Fuck the conservative tradwives who preach!"

But at least we can talk about internalized misogyny. I don't know about the East though.
