或る朝のmessage
An oyster is soft and vulnerable.
牡蠣は柔らかく脆弱でもある。
Without the sanctuary of its shell,
it could not survive.
貝に守られることなくして、
生存は不可能である。
But oysters must open their shells in order to 'breathe' water.
しかし牡蠣は水中での呼吸で貝を開く必要がある。
Sometimes while an oyster is breathing,
a grain of sand will enter its shell and become a part of its life from then on.
時には牡蠣が呼吸をする際に、
大きな砂の粒が貝に入り込みその砂粒が
牡蠣の一部として共に人生を歩むことにもなる。
Such grains of sand cause pain,
but slowly and patiently,
the oyster wraps the grain of sand in thin translucent layers until,over time,
it has created something of great value in the place of greatest pain.
砂粒が与える痛みに
地道に耐えることで、
時をかけ牡蠣は砂の粒子を
薄く半透明な層で包んでいく。
最も痛みの強い箇所ほど、
価値のある何かへと造り上げられていく。
A pearl may be thought of as an oyster's response to suffering.
牡蠣の忍耐と苦悩から真珠はできると考えられる。
Something in us,too,can transform suffering into wisdom.
これは、なんだか人生のようだ。
苦悩と共にそれが賢さとしてついてくる。
