Platonic Love
It was just rain, falling carelessly—
Droplets cold and indifferent,
Unconcerned even with my loneliness,
Landing on my skin.
I stood there alone, looking pitiful,
And you said, “Only for a while,”
As you lent me your umbrella.
It didn’t take long for my heart to be stolen.
The chill on my wet shoulder faded away,
In what was a small, trivial love.
From then on, our days began
In a sunlit classroom.
We shared smiles,
And with every word exchanged,
My heart beat faster with love.
In the corners of everyday life,
I was always searching for you—
Not knowing it would one day turn into pain.
Ever since I met you,
I kept chasing coincidences.
Even in unfamiliar streets,
I imagined running into you.
That summer break when we met again—
It became our final memory.
A memory too early,
One I recall on rainy days.
I remember the day I met you,
And the foolish me who lost in love.
Even now, I think of you.
Thank you…
For the kindness you gave me.
