A dream I had yesterday night.
I was in Shanghai as a teacher.
On a holiday in autumn, I took an outing to have dinner in my favourites restaurant.
I got on a subway to go to the nearby station from that restaurant and while on board I had commanded a view of landscape with an unpaved path getting along with a river, and side by side of that path, I had seen arranged trees. It appeared that these trees looked like the same with those I had seen while living in Otsu city in Japan.
I got off the subway at a station.
The platform was situated on the second basement floor and I went up stairs to the ground floor. That ground floor was so spacious and these spacious kinds of stations are in common in Shanghai so that it reminded myself of that I was in Shanghai now. The announcement and conversation flown to my ears were in Chinese, but I couldn't understand what these things were saying.
After getting out of the station, I got lost my way and entered a unknown narrow street with so much waste and dump. It smells so terribly that I tried to be through the street as fast as I could barring my breathing, but I couldn't. After that I was suddenly teleported to another place.
The place where I was teleported, I was on a widely made stage in front of audience composed of children being looked under 12 years old. In adjacent to me, my old friend during my highschool hood had a seat on a chair.
An announcement said in Japanese that we had to field some questions and quizzes oneards. I could solve some, but couldn't solve some. It seemed my friend also could do some, but couldn't do some. A child out of the audience was wallking to the place in front of us and said by using microphone that I was good at dealing with the quizzes to scale my logically thinking ability, but I was apt to fail to answer the questions concerning knowledge which teachers have to know in contrast to my old friend.
After this evvent, a darling light passed through the windows and it made my eye-sights white out. After I regained my eye sights, I was in a class room with my former students.
I called their names in order and mark a check sign in the blanks on the name list sheet. No sooner had I started to teach English grammar from the page 22 in the text book than I woke up.
I thought it describes my current mindset.
I sometimes feel nostalgic about my days in Shanghai at the same time, I enjoy my current days in Jakarta not as a teacher.
But I feel touched with my former students. They will continue to live in my mind until I shoot through.
