"She graced those waters, before disappearing into that foggy mist."
"I could feel the eyes of her escort fleet. The eyes of destroyers, and cruisers, just observing. Yet, they never engaged... those waters remained tranquil."
The two flagships depart from the port, their wakes lapping against the dull docks. Sovetskog and her little sister Kronsh. Family in soul and steel.
Obediently, other ships unmoor, lifting their anchors, escorting the two into the obstructed ocean.
The port is silent, not even a seagull's chime. Only chunks of ice dinging away, mechanical machines navigating the water - breaking ice, and the undisguisable chatter of soldiers.
They fold into the ever falling mist, their uniforms an unforgiving snowy-white. Leaving their affiliation clear and answered.
The loyal servicemen of the Northern Federation.
Here, where the eyes of the NDECK never reach. A prosperous land for many who chose it. And the fatal end for those who oppose. The people born of 'taboo' and 'questionable' levels of humanity find their ranks amongst this land.
They needn't fear the Nephilim,
Or anything that comes of it.
Their existence is known, but to what degree? These ice-scared lands hear - see everything, yet they themselves... are just a sailor's story, or the ramblings of a drunk soldier.
Tell the name 'Northern Federation' to anyone. They'd only be confused, or surprised.
It ends there.
They refuse to show themselves. Only observing from inside their indomitable storm. Sending their tendrils across the land, that withdraw at the slightest breeze.
Command grasps at straws, trying to pick one that reveals their intentions, their locations.
But those who wish to remain hidden; truly so.
Will stay concealed.
Cold waters, cold steel, it travels south.
