The Great Zen Mirror

A single drop falls into a silent pond,

（一滴の雫が、静かな池に落ちる）

Connecting this world to the vast beyond.

（この世界を、広大な彼方へと繋いでいく）

The Buddha smiles within your own breath,

（仏はあなたの呼吸の中に微笑み）

There is no ending, and there is no death.

（終わりもなく、死さえも存在しない）

The forest whispers through the ancient gate,

（古びた鳥居を抜け、森がささやく）

You are the master, not a slave to fate.

（あなたは主（あるじ）であり、運命の奴隷ではない）

Like thousands of gods in the river and stone,

（川や石に宿る八百万の神々のように）

You are the universe, never alone.

（あなたは宇宙そのもの、決して孤独ではない）

Everything flows, impermanent and bright,

（万物は流転し、無常でありながら輝いている）

Empty your mind and become the light.

（心を空（くう）にして、光そのものになりなさい）

This moment is a shrine, sacred and new,

（この瞬間こそが社（やしろ）、神聖で新しい）

Where the Creator is dreaming of "You."

（創造主が「あなた」という夢を見ている場所なのだ）
