The Journey of the Elemental Prince  作者: Eronta En
4/17

An Unlikely Alliance

" Huh...Where am I?! How did I get here?"

She could not have helped saying this aloud to herself as she realized the situation.

Normally one would not immediately notice themselves in a new place upon waking up.

But she was not the average person. Her senses are stronger than most allowing her to gain information very quickly. Be it a new or different smell, sound, sight, she would be able to discern it from those that are familiar to herself.

Just like a spider taken from its web, she too would know she's in a new environment.

But what she needs to know now is where is she.

Although even she had to remember her limitations as a human as well.

The room was brightly lit with the morning sun's rays and she was hit with a strong ray of light as she scrutinized the room for details too fast.

The light rays instantly blinded the young lady's eyes, still a bit weak from waking up.

She pulled the blanket covering her body over her face as if to shield herself from the sun. Another day of leading the remainder of her people and awaiting new assassins seeking her bounty. Yet, another spent preparing for the upcoming battle against her mother for betraying her country and even worse, her daughter. As she thought this, she gasped at the memory of what transpired in the battle against a strange young man.

The room she was in was not anything like those found in the underground ruins she was forced to stay in until she deemed it safe enough to leave. The walls seemed to be made of brick and plaster. They seemed to have had a nice coat of white paint on them. The sunlight bounced off the walls and gave it a nice glow. The ceiling was adorned with a gorgeous golden chandelier. The chandelier seemed to be adorned with brightly colored crystals which seemed to radiate the room the more the girl stared at them. The blankets and bed seemed to be made out of fine materials as if made to suit a wealthy individual.

Well, it is not like the girl didn't have these sorts of luxury items back when she lived as a princess many years back. Although now, they seemed to be a reminder of the life she has missed since escaping back then.

She slaps her hands across both sides of her face as if to remind herself to stay alert. She was in a foreign place and alone for the first time in a while. What brought her to these circumstances? She seems to ponder over this for a second before she remembered what had occurred.

"...I was beaten and captured by an assassin sent after me. "

This had to have been the case. It was the only logical thing she could think of.

She did not know what would become of her. She also didn't have the luxury of waiting to find out. She noticed a presence slowly approaching her room's door.

There could only be three possible options for her at this point.

The first would be that she would wait for her kidnapper and see what they will do to her. The second option was to possibly buy time for her retainers to come to her rescue. The third option was to hopefully persuade the one behind her capture into letting her go.

I need to avoid the first option at all costs. That's a no-brainer. The only thing the first option would bring her is a sooner death. I'm not so optimistic to act complacent in a situation like this. As they say, a watched pot never boils'.

The second option could be done but will require me to be stronger than my opponent. And considering my defeat earlier at the hands of that man… No! I must keep a leveled head.

The young girl shook her head. As if that cleared her cloudy mind, she lifted her head with a newfound exuberance. She couldn't be distracted now. Growing up she was always taught that defeat begins in the mind. Why lose a battle before it has begun, right?

The third option is equally as demanding.

It will be no easy task to persuade a hired killer to cease the work he might have already been paid for. But, how? How could I possibly persuade them? What would it take?

She thought about this for a bit and settled on seducing him with her body. She was always praised for her beauty. Some would even call her a world-class beauty. It should be easy for her to charm any man who looks at her body.

She did not want to use this as an option but compared with the other three, but this had the highest chance of success.

"Now…

She began to take off her clothes. One garment after another until she was only left in her underwear. She began to lie down in the bed and struck a provocative pose.

With this, there is no way I can fail. What man would be able to resist this body of mine? This would just be another win under my belt.

You know what? Why should I stop at just seducing him? I should make him serve me and send him back to kill whoever sent him.

Either he kills his previous master leaving me with one less enemy or he dies fighting in my name thus proving my superiority as a ruler! Yes, this plan may just succeed.

A smirk appeared across her face as she thought this.

As she went over her plan once more, the mysterious presence had finally made it to her room and was at the foot of the door.

"Well then...it's now or nothing."

The sound of a doorknob turning and a door opening soon resounded in the room.

She began to slowly get up when she stopped.

The form of a young man slowly became visible. He wore a cloak that covered his features perfectly. He also had a familiar aura around him.

It was the young man who had made his way into her hideout and defeated her.

Why was he here? Was he the one who brought her here?

She became frightened as the first person to ever defeat her was right in front of her. She began to quickly realize this plan of hers might not work.

She began to doubt herself once again just like during her fight with him. Many questions began to swirl in her mind. But one thing's for sure--she had to escape. But, how? Would he even allow the chance for that to happen?

This is the same person who defeated her without even drawing his sword. The same person whose speeds outpaced even hers.

Perspiration began to form upon her forehead as the thought of having to fight him again sprang up. She wiped her brow with the back of her hand.

She couldn't fight him again. Not now at least. Not until she covered all her bases at least.

She recalled what he had said to her when they first met. He had wanted her to join him.

To follow someone else, to be bound by another's whim should be entirely unthinkable to her.

But, in this instance, what choice does she have? No.

There is always a way to get out on top in a bad situation. Surely, he wouldn't just capture her just to kill her off, right?

It would be in my best interest to hear him out and decide what action I will take after that.

While she had lost her composure earlier, she began showing signs of calming down.

She had put on a brave face in front of her captor. It was at that moment he began to speak.

"Peace, my lady. I have no reason to bring you any further harm. I only wish to speak."

He took a brief pause as if to gather his thoughts. He began stroking his chin whilst in thought. It took only a few seconds to gather his thoughts.

He seemed to have found the words he wanted to say.

"My apologies but it seems to me that you have misread my intentions."

She could tell what he meant as she followed his eyes to her nearly naked body.

She immediately covered herself in sheets and cried out in embarrassment.

"Well, excuse me! It is not my fault you have not seen a beautiful body such as mine before!"

Her cheeks started heating up with embarrassment. She briefly thought about why her brilliant plan of seducing him failed. How could she of all people fail in seducing someone?

'Wait.'

She was brought back to reality when she remembered the other person in the room.

She sent him a side glance and noticed he was looking at her. Although she couldn't see his face she could certainly feel his gaze fall upon herself.

He's probably slowly undressing me with his eyes, that lecher! Well, I am quite the woman after all. She began to get lost in her thoughts once again but was brought back when she heard him clear his throat.

It seemed he did have more to say.

The young girl began to sit up straight while still grasping the bedsheets covering herself. She then let out a big sigh.

She was still determined to come out on top and complete her goal of taking back her country. Even if she is to be sold into slavery by this man she will come back.

'I'll stake my life on it!'

The young man took a couple of steps closer to the young girl and began to speak once more.

"Firstly, I would like to apologize for kidnapping you from your home."

He began to bow after saying those words.

"Wait"

The girl became confused as it was quite visible upon her face.

She could not understand what just transpired.

Why was he apologizing for kidnapping her? Is this just what happens? First, they kidnap a beautiful, young girl and then they apologize to them to lull them into a fake feeling of security. Well, the apology does seem sincere.

Wait, no! He could just be smiling devilishly under that cloak of his ready to make his next move.

If that is the case I'll just have him reveal himself to prove his honesty. Yeah, that is the only way to know for sure.

"Secondly, I--"

"Wait just a moment!"

The young man stopped at the young woman's urging. He remained silent.

He stared at her as if to urge her to continue.

Didn't expect him to actually stop and listen to me so intently. I suppose it's now or never.

"If you want to properly talk to someone at least reveal yourself to me."

'Yes! With this, I should be able to gather some information about my kidnapper and use it against him. First I will need to find out his background and find out if anyone with that description I may know of. If not then it will be no big problem at all~ As long as I get a face, I'll find a name. And a name gets you pretty far in this world~'

That and a strong bloodline. This was a widely known fact to everyone.

She started to steal glances as she thought about what proper steps she'd need to take.

'Well as long as he isn't from one of the more powerful families in these lands, I can dispose of him without worry. I'll just need time...'

The girl thought this while grinning mischievously.

'But that's for later. For now, I must…'

The young man was briefly taken aback by the young girl's sudden request.

He paused for a mere few seconds and raised his right hand to his chest. He looked at his open palm with what looked like a wistful stare. You see his eyes were exposed and with them carried a strong gaze. When she first saw those eyes, she saw an unrelenting strength in them. From that alone, she knew he would be no ordinary opponent. That is what made her wary the most. That and what made his eyes' gaze so powerful.

She shuddered. Though his gaze was still filled with that kind of strength. They were also filled with a sort of longing perhaps. She was born with stronger eyesight than most but that is not where her talents lay. She could only guess as to what was making him feel like that.

The young man eventually closed his right hand and his gaze fell on the young girl.

"You asked me to reveal my identity to you. If you join me and my cause I'll do it."

His voice was clear and distinct. It carries a myriad of emotions with it. It seems he is serious.

The young girl thought it over once again. Should she join him or not? What are the pros and cons of doing as he says? He has not harmed and even brought her to a nice enough place. He is strong and does not seem to want her for her body at least he has not shown signs otherwise. Although I have my doubts, he is at least somewhat worthy of my trust. I can always take him out later as a group with my Flower Knights.

"Fine then. It's a deal. I'll at least listen to what you say for now."

She turned her head up at him to feign dissatisfaction. Briefly peeking at him from the side to see how he reacts, she looked at him.

"Yes, thank you. That is all I ask."

The young man removed his coverings without so much as a pause

Without his cloak, she could finally tell what the young man looked like.

The young man's body was smaller than what she had initially imagined but by only a bit. He was small but she could see the outline of his defined musculature. His body was toned and he had a foreign look about him.

It made him seem fairly dependable in her eyes. His short, black hair held a glossy shine that told her he takes good care of his well being. His stance reminded her of an experienced warrior, kinda like her instructor when she was a young girl. There weren't many openings even though his face held a look of calm. This further embodies the fact that he was certainly no ordinary opponent.

The young man wore a neutral expression but he didn't give off any negative impressions. Quite the opposite. She felt a bit of warmness coming from him and possibly apprehension. It seemed he was expecting a different reaction and prepared for the worse by taking a defensive stance. At least that is what her intuition is telling her.

Though she did not plan on attacking him anymore, she could still understand the need to be on guard for it. After all, she had many people aim for her life many times. Maybe he too was the same in that regard. Though none succeeded in defeating her or any of her guards. Until now, that is.

She also noticed the sword he had on him earlier was missing. The one around his waist was different in that it was more akin to a bastard sword. It looked blunt and seemed to be made of a brownish metal. His clothes seemed to be a bit thin, but the material seemed of high quality, though.

As she scrutinized him some more, she started to notice the young man was getting a bit red in the face.

The young girl couldn't help but get a wicked grin on her face. It's only natural of the beauty of her caliber to make even those staring at her to fall prey to her feminine wiles. She wouldn't even be surprised if he fell in love with her then and there. While she did a victory pose in her heart, she had started to notice something.

The young man looked young. Like, too young. She turned away from the young man in a hurry causing the young man to lower his stance and reach for his blade at his waist. She paid him no mind. There were more pressing matters at hand.

Was the young man in front of her truly younger than her?

But that would be absurd! To be bested in combat by a mere child like him is unbelievable. But the facts are standing right in front of her.

She glanced at the man once again. He was staring back at her, still waiting for something to happen. Although he did look a bit confused, that made him look even younger to her.

She had to find out. She just had to! Her pride as a woman and a warrior was on the line. Her cheeks began to feel hotter and her face started to slowly redden.

She took a moment to let herself regain her composure. She took a big amount of air and exhaled. She then turned back to the young man.

Having gotten up from the bed and taken a few steps towards him, she stood before him.

The young man though surprised a bit still hadn't let go of his blade in the few moments since she got quiet.

He felt thankful nothing had happened yet and that he had been prepared for the worst. Although he felt a tad saddened by the current state of events, he was told it might turn out like this.

His cloak was made out of tough material and even could have been tossed onto the enemy if things go awry. Sadly, he had taken it off to prove his sincerity. Though he would still be fine without it as he's not so weak to let a few attacks take him down. Not before he set out to make his dream a reality.

The young man stood a few feet away from the girl. A distance either of them could cross in an instant. The girl was the first to break this silent standoff.

"You...It can't be."

The young boy knew his identity had to be hidden. He has too few allies and too many who would rather see him fall. Though in his heart, he wanted more comrades. More people to call a friend. The young man braced himself for an attack from the opposing party.

"Are you..are you…"

The young girl's voice began to trail off.

But the young man didn't need her to finish her sentence. For he already knew how this would end. It's how many had ended before. That she was an enemy. Someone after his life. Someone who wished to see his lifelong dream come to an end.

I can't stand it.

How few supporters he had and how long this journey has been going. He just wanted to see his home once more. As it were before it was taken away from him. Where he had lost his family. Where he had yet to find any of his fellow countrymen.

The young man began to hate those who took his home away from him even further. Once again etching in his heart what he must do.

The young girl, watching him the whole time, began to once again remember the difference between them. But there were some similarities between the two of them as well.

She took one more step closer to the young man.

She had looked upon him once again.

"So that's it. You are...aren't you? You must be."

"There is no further need to hide my identity. So I will put your mind at ease...What you say is true."

The young man pulled his blade from its scabbard and lifted it between themselves. He was ready.

The young girl became quiet at those words. She looked down towards the floor.

After a while, the young man, ready to break the silence, moved his mouth to speak.

Before any words came out, however, he was interrupted by laughter.

It was coming from the girl who was now on the ground rolling in boisterous laughter.

The young man left speechless by the sudden change in the girl tilted his head to the side in confusion.

The girl who before was giving off an intense aura was now on the floor laughing like a drunken man who had had too much alcohol. Maybe his previous hunch was wrong. It seems she wasn't about to attack him, at least not now.

Although it could be a ploy to take him by surprise, he decided to take that chance. Maybe he could still halt any hostility between the two and ally with her at least.

He took his hand off his sword and stood straight.

"What do you find so humorous, if I may ask?"

"If I may ask, he says! What an entertaining individual~"

The young girl trying to stifle her laughter continued.

"It's just that...I can't believe the great Me was taken out by a mere child such as yourself. You even managed to capture me and fight evenly with one of my best knights. I can't help but laugh!"

The young girl began to get up all the while wiping tears from her eyes due to laughing too much.

She seemed to be feeling much more at ease now.

"I happen to be turning sixteen in about half a year, kid. What about you?"

The young girl seemed to have no other reasons for asking the young man's age besides actual interest, it seems. If that is the case, there is no reason to keep hold of that information.

"I will be turning thirteen this year, my lady. And I would appreciate not being called a child if you would be so kind."

"Then I would prefer you not to call me lady." The young girl shot back.

The boy realized that he hadn't received the girl's name yet. He realized his mistake and vowed to not repeat the mistake.

"What would you have me call you, then?"

"Elise."

"Miss Elise, then--"

Elise interrupted him.

"No! Just Elise! Besides I'm not that much older than you to warrant you calling me Miss."

Elise began to pout and turned her head away from the boy. She looked childish doing this yet it did not detract from how cute she looked while doing so. The young man could not have helped himself from staring at her. He could not hide his admiration for how calm she was given this situation.

He felt determination well up from deep within himself. He was determined to befriend Elise and gain a new ally to help him achieve his dream.

"Yes. Elise, then."

"That is right! And your name? Don't keep this beauty waiting. I permit you to tell me your name. Even if it may turn out to be the name of a mere knight, I will at least try to remember it."

Elise took on a more prideful tone considering her display from earlier. Though the young man didn't seem to take any insult from this, he gave his answer.

"My name is Er--. er my apologies, I am known as Eren. A member of the famed and honorable Hendrikson line. It has been my pleasure to make your acquaintance."

Eron then proceeded to bow towards Elise briefly. Elise began to get a puzzled look on her face.

"Wait, you said Hendrikson. Like, the Hendrickson Empire of the North, right?!

"Yes, though it is of a noble lineage, I am only of the branch family... A distant one." His voice started to trail off at the end as if he were thinking about something.

"Woah, I knew you had to be noble with those types of skills but to be from the branch of THE leading country of the Great Continent well...that's amazing! If not a tad bit frightening...."

Elise began to get red in the face as she remembered how rude she was to him earlier. She even tried to kill him as well. To even bear arms against one from the Hendrikson bloodline in the North, would not only mean fighting against the most powerful noble family on the continent but even a treasonous act against the Gods as well.

The Hendrikson family was the current leading family of the whole continent. They're descendants of the Great Hero King of yore.

It is said that at the beginning of the creation of our world, the Great Elemental Gods forged our world and many others with their very being.

Legends stating how the Earth Elemental God Vesuvius created the mountains and vast lands of the continents from his very own flesh. Or of the one about the Flame Elemental God Cyrus walking along the barren lands to enrich the soil and each step left large holes in the ground later filled thus creating oceans and lakes.

One such tale spoke of how the Wind Elemental God Typhus, using his breath, cooled the planet and provided all manner of gases to fill the planet. The Water Elemental Goddess Rumea let water flow across the planet from her very own veins, While her younger twin sister, the Ice Elemental Goddess Rumia, making glaciers by using ancient bodies of water as bathtubs. The Light Elemental Aurelia used her life energy to form the Sun to light our planet and keep it warm. She along with the Earth Elemental created the first of life that would eventually become humans.

Many such tales were often learned from stories told by parents and historical texts alike.

But one most will state is the definite truth is the tale of the Dark God Phineas.

The shortened version went like this If I recall:

The Dark God Phineas also ruled the world with the other Elemental Gods.

But he thought differently than the other Gods when it came to how the planet should be ruled.

The Dark God brought it upon himself to show them his creations.

So he created a being in his own image to match the ones the rest of the Gods were making.

Disgusted at his actions, they put this new creation as far away from their creations as they possibly could.

Angered by their sudden actions, Dark God Phineas left with his creations vowing to destroy their newfound joy that would eventually be known as Humans.

As humans were starting to populate the whole world, they were stopped by the Dark God Phineas. With him, he brought his creations he referred to as Demons.

The Demons had resembled Humans, except for the fact that they were stronger than the average human. They were also known to have pointed ears and the strongest ones had horns that protruded from their heads.

In the beginning, humans and demons didn't even know of each other. Due to the sudden progression of both, their meeting would have been inevitable.

A war soon broke out between both sides pushing nearly both sides to extinction.

As the story went on, the human side won many small battles against the demons with their advanced technology and vast numbers. But, not being able to overcome the average demon in strength and ability led to them beating back just as much.

On a visit to a human settlement, the Elemental Goddess of Light Aurelia bore witness to the wanton death and destruction of the Gods' new world. Fearful of what would happen to the planet if the humans lost, she and the other Elementals forged a plan to defeat the Dark God.

But since they didn't want to kill a fellow God with their own hands they decided to give specifically chosen humans the power to protect themselves against the Dark God.

Aurelia and the other Elemental Gods each gave a young Human Hero a part of their life essence.

Essentially, turning him into the first demi-god now armed with the power of the Gods. Some other brave youths helped him win against the Demon Army.

First with the defeat of the Half Demon Syphas and the decimation of the Demon Army. With the demon side defeated and the Dark God Phineas sealed, the young Hero was named king of the lands that once were walked by demons and was seen as the Gods' Herald by many granting him even more esteem amongst mankind.

That young Hero became the first King of the Northern Empire. Making him the ancestor of this young man in front of her.

Though the Gods stopped treading in this world shortly after, they were still thought to watch over this world from afar.

There are said to be even some from the church who've seen them!

Well if you believe what merchants trying to sell you something will tell you. Even some on the street will tell you they've seen a God if you give them enough to drink~

Elise shrugged how shoulders at the thought of that.

Either way, it would be bad to get on the bad side of a descendent with blood ties to the Gods. Elise thought about how to properly apologize to Erron. Though a simple apology probably wouldn't suffice, she thought it was the least she could do in a situation like this. She slapped her face a couple of times to better regain her focus.

She briefly noticed Eron was staring at her oddly. She paid him no mind. She psyched herself up and fell to her knees. She lowered her face to the floor and prostrated herself before Erron without skipping a beat.

She recalled a long time ago someone was brought before her mother and did this. At first, she thought the strange man did this to curry favor with her mother, but now she has begun to rethink this.

It must have been the best way to show someone the proper respect and to give a proper apology.

She couldn't help but thank that strange man in her heart for teaching her this lesson. Though it didn't save that man from Mother's Wrath, it'll surely work if the one doing it is a beautiful girl, right?'

She couldn't help herself from betting everything on this one act. After all, she was going after a descendent of a hero whose family has close ties with the literal Gods. This was the least she could do, she thought to herself.

She began to sweat while waiting for an answer. Though she has been feeling oddly cool for a while now for some reason, she had begun to sweat despite that.

Why am I sweating now?

She couldn't help but wonder about that for a bit.

No, she thought, she had a bigger problem in front of her. If only she could see the look on his face. Then she could at least find out if it was working on him or not.

No! That strange man never looked up, even when faced with Mother's cold glare.

I must be like him...though the thought of being like an old man grosses me out, I must persevere!'

Eren was dumbfounded by the previously prideful girl in front of him. At first, he could understand why her demeanor changed but not to this degree. He felt he was unworthy of her apology as he still felt some guilt from misreading her actions earlier. He must make things right and assure her of her safety. He thought of how best to do that as he formed the words to calm her heart.

"Please. Raise your head and take my hand. Though our stations at birth were different, you are by no means beneath me as a person. Please, for my sake and yours, will you stand with me. I have not finished speaking of my reasons for you being here yet."

The young man put out his hand for Elise to take hold of.

Elise raised her head and then took hold of his hand. Though she was reluctant to at first, she knew that it would be more disrespectful to leave their earlier discussion unfinished. As she was brought back up onto her feet she felt a cool breeze hit her body yet again.

There it is again, she thought.

She looked around and noticed a window across from her was partly open but that only explained where the cool breeze was coming from. She didn't remember being so susceptible to the cold before.

What gives?

She was so sure she was wearing her favorite dress earlier...

"No...No way…"

That couldn't possibly be it, could it? There's no way she could have forgotten, right?

She looked down at herself and noticed one undeniable fact. She was still in her underwear from earlier.

But, we've been talking for a while now. Why didn't he say anything?!

That is when she began to recall the signs on his face from earlier and the fact he has been looking her in the eyes with an intense look. Almost as if he was trying to avoid looking anywhere else.

The atmosphere began to take a drastic change. The air seemed even cooler than before as Elise's glare shot straight for Eren. Her eyes took on a dangerous glint. She looked as if she were about to burst from fury.

"You pervert!"

Elise brought her hand up and slapped Eren across his face with all her might.

She then began to freeze up as she came to her senses. After immediately realizing what she had done and to whom. She quickly began to think of an apology but was tripping upon her words.

"I am s-so s-sowwy...I mean sorry!"

She kept repeating those words as she quickly began to prostrate herself before Eren. She started to cry almost immediately. How could she not? She just struck a member of the most powerful family in the entire known world, after all. Her life was over.

As those thoughts started to fill her head a sound snapped Elise out of her stupor.

It was Eren who had briefly cleared his throat to get her attention. He didn't look angry at all. Or that's what Elise had hoped to be the case. Eren kneeled in front of Elise.

"My apologies, I know you were deep in thought but I just wanted to tell you I am not mad. I can understand where you are coming from and I can see it is getting late."

Elise looked towards the window and noticed that it was indeed getting late. How much of Eren's time had she wasted thinking needless things and filling her head with nonsense. Though she normally spent some time training before bed with her elite guard they weren't in sight. That fact made Elise think about where they were now and if they were safe.

The thought of them getting hurt or defeated was thoughts that were foreign to her before now. Though she did feel a bit angry at the thought of her guardians being hurt, she knew now wasn't the right time to think about that. She knew she needed to worry about what to do next.

"I see you are deep in thought, once again. How about you rest up a bit and we can continue this conversation in the morning, Elise."

"That sounds delightful."

Though she wanted to say more, she held herself back for now. She'll get her answers in the morning. For now, she will rest and regain her energy for tomorrow.

With that, the young man is known as walked out of her room door and left while closing their door behind him. Elise sensing that he left, rushed over to the window.

Noticing the pale moon high in the sky. She knew for certain it was night. Since her eyesight was stronger than most, she looked around outside. She didn't see anything that could reveal her location, but that didn't stop her from looking. Though she did see some guards patrolling the area and a few drunks, she knew she could take them with ease. If she wanted to she could escape this room and make it back to her hideout. If she could do that she could…' could what? Escape?'

She thought about it but was there even a need to escape the situation she's in.

'Yeah, I was kidnapped. But so what? Honestly, my captor seems to be more valuable a hostage than I am. And I definitely couldn't be being used as a bargaining chip to capture my mother. She left our clan years ago and her enemies would rather see me dead or sold as a slave than alive.'

'The way he was talking to me and the fact he let me hit him means he isn't here to hurt me. Unless he's playing the long con and is trying to trick me. That or he's trying to marry me...Wait! M-marry me...That could be it. It has to be!'

Elise began to hold her cheeks and squeal in joy as she jumped around in joy.

"If he wanted to marry me all he had to do was say so!"

No wait, I did hit him earlier. What if he doesn't want to marry me anymore after that.

Elise began to shudder at the thought. Her first boyfriend...nay the first husband and she treats him like that. She would be the laughingstock of her clan. What would her guardian knights think?

'Master, what a meanie.'

'Little Eli couldn't even keep a man~'

'What would our ancestors think of her now.'

Those kinds of dark thoughts filled her head nonstop. She couldn't help but sulk.

'No! I must avoid that at all costs.'

She couldn't be looked down on. Even more than that she couldn't lose her first husband just like that. Hanging on to that thought, she went over to the bed and jumped into it with all her might.

"I must make up for the way I acted today and win back his love!"

Elise grabbed a pillow from the bed and hugged it tightly.

"Ahh, I cannot wait to see him again."
