2-1 “You only are what you are relative to another thing that is not”
2-1 “You only are what you are relative to another thing that is not”
--------------------
> It is only through your relationship with other people, places, and events that you can even exist (as a knowable quantity, as an identifiable something) in the universe. Remember, absent everything else, you are not. You only are what you are relative to another thing that is not. That is how it is in the world of the relative, as opposed to the world of the absolute—where I reside.

--------------------
The reality we live in is a world of relativity. Everything exists through contrast—male and female, large and small, hot and cold, I and you. Nothing can be known except in relation to something else.
God created this relative universe by expressing countless aspects of divinity, so that He might experience His own divine nature through them.
Within this world, human beings live and grow through their relationships with others—people, animals, plants, and the natural environment. Through these interactions, we bring forth the divine qualities that dwell within us as potential.
In this way, every relationship becomes a sacred opportunity to experience our own divinity and to evolve the soul.
