3-3. A Point of Difference (3) : Earth’s Ascension (Dimensional Uplift)
In *Conversations with God*, the idea of Earth’s progress is described more as a steady evolutionary process rather than as a dramatic event of “ascension.” For example, in *Tomorrow’s God* (p.29), God tells Neale Donald Walsch that “in about thirty years the Earth will have greatly evolved.”

> **God:** Very soon. It could happen within your lifetime. Within thirty years, yes. Once the first domino falls, change may happen even more quickly.

Yet, even in Walsch’s more recent weekly newsletters, one does not find references to the present day as a special moment of “ascension.” The impression given by *Conversations with God* is that humanity continues along its ongoing evolutionary path rather than entering into an extraordinary, divinely marked era.
By contrast, *The Matthew Books* place significant emphasis on the idea that now is indeed the time of Earth’s “Ascension.” In this context, Gaia — the cosmic name for Earth’s soul — is said to be moving upward into higher dimensions. This process, according to Matthew, is supported by vast numbers of helpers: angels, spirit guides, and benevolent extraterrestrial civilizations who have gathered to aid Earth’s transition.
As *The Matthew Books: Special Volume — The Spiritual Truths of Modern Society* explains:

Matthew’s messages also provide a historical perspective. For example, in his September 1, 2012 transmission, he recalls Gaia’s cry for help in the late 1930s, during the global depression and the rise of the Third Reich. At that time, Gaia foresaw the coming devastation of World War II and recognized that her planetary body was too weakened to survive without assistance. In response, immense infusions of light were directed to Earth from distant civilizations, enabling her to begin lifting out of the deep density of the third dimension.
This marked the beginning of her Ascension. Matthew goes on to explain that around the turn of 2012–2013, Earth passed through an “interdimensional window” where energies of the third and fourth densities briefly intermingled, and that by entering the fourth density, Earth’s Golden Age would commence. Yet, he stresses that this was not the end of the journey: Gaia’s full Ascension will continue until she is firmly established once again in the fifth density, her original home, after millennia of dwelling within lower-dimensional conditions shaped by collective human consciousness.
