# The Christian View
In traditional Christian doctrine, the concept of “good and evil” is understood in dualistic terms: God (the source of good) and Satan (the embodiment of evil) stand in opposition to one another.
Within this framework, the fall of the first humans, Adam and Eve, is said to have introduced original sin into the world, thereby bringing the forces of good and evil into human reality.

# The *Conversations with God* View
*Conversations with God*, however, interprets the story of Adam and Eve differently. It does not see the myth as a tale of humankind’s fall, but rather as a symbolic blessing: the moment when humans first began to exercise free will by making their own judgments about what is “good” and “evil.”
From this perspective, evil is not embodied in a single fallen angel or demonic being. Instead, good and evil are not absolute opposites but relative measures of usefulness. Thoughts and actions that serve the purpose of life are considered “good,” while those that obstruct or negate that purpose are deemed “bad.”
Moreover, the standards of good and evil are not fixed eternally but are created and reshaped by human beings themselves, continually evolving over time.

# The *Matthew Books* View
By contrast, *The Matthew Books* adopt a more dualistic outlook. They teach that when the archangel Lucifer strayed from his original path, the group later known as the Illuminati—forces of darkness—came into being.
According to Matthew’s account, this dark collective set itself against the Creator’s intent, expanding the influence of darkness and committing harmful deeds throughout the cosmos.
Matthew explains:
> Lucifer was one of the Creator’s first manifestations: an individual expression, created as an archangel of the highest order. Once free will was granted to these souls, they could choose what to co-create in subsequent manifestations. Originally, Lucifer’s intention was to create in alignment with the Creator—sharing only light with his creations.
>
> Over time, however, Lucifer became intrigued with using his free will to produce grotesque and distorted beings, taking pleasure in such experiments. This led him to fall endlessly into denser levels of energy. At the core of his being, his experiments and terrifying manifestations grew and repeatedly divided, and with each division, those souls moved further from the Creator, away from the light and toward darkness.
>
> What we see on Earth today is an extension of that movement away from awareness of the inner connection to light. Those who carry out the orders of the forces of darkness trace their origins back to Lucifer’s energy. Remember, though, energy itself is neutral. The term “Lucifer’s energy” simply refers to energy that has been turned toward increasingly depraved expressions under the influence of Lucifer.
