(13) Mental and physical health
1. If you ever lit a cigarette in your life―much less smoked a pack a day for 20 years as you have―you have very little will to live. You don't care what you do to your body.
And if you've ever taken alcohol into your body, you have very little will to live. The body was not meant to intake alcohol. It impairs the mind. (pdfCWG1-P130)
NOTE: Tobacco and alcohol harm the physical health.
2. You put chemicals in your food so they can stay on the shelf longer, even if it means your stay on the planet is shorter.
You are eating foods filled with chemicals which have been poured into the soil in a desperate attempt to reconstitute it. While causing no apparent damage to the body in the short term, you will discover to your sadness that in the long run these trace chemicals, which remain in the body, are not health producing. (pdfCWG2-P131)
NOTE: When you eat a meal containing chemical substances (pesticides, antibiotics, preservatives, food additives, etc. ), the body is being harmed without knowing it.
3. Even as I have told you to meditate every day so that you may quiet your mind and experience your Oneness with Me, now I tell you to exercise each day. Exercise is the meditation of the body. (pdfCOMMUNION WITH GOD-P73)
4. What you call meditation is nothing more than being with your Self―and thus, ultimately, being your Self.
You can do this in many ways. For some of you it may look like what you call "meditation"―that is, sitting quietly. For others it may look like walking alone, in nature. (pdfFWG-P85)
NOTE: Sometimes you meditate and go inside yourself. If you go inside, you can know yourself who does not require anything outside of yourself.
