(12) Self-development
In the CWG series, the ways to develop oneself are written as follows.
1. You are not what you were. Do not stick to the past, let it go, leave newly. (pdfCWG3-P64)
2. Go ahead and choose being better-but not better than others; rather, better than you were before. (pdfCWG2-P62)
3. When you encounter the events in your usual life, you choose how you want to be. And you make an effort to become such a human being as you want to be.
4. Even if you fail, there is no need to give up on yourself or feel helpless or guilty.
5. The most rapid way to change a root thought, or sponsoring idea, is to reverse the thought-word-deed process. (pdfCWG1-P112)
6. When you have a thought that is not in alignment with your higher vision, change to a new thought, then and there. (pdfCWG1-P56)
7. When you have a feeling to look down upon others, you should aware and change the inferiority consciousness hidden within you.
8. Be like Christ in every circumstance. He has shown you the way and left you instructions. (pdfCWG2-P26)
9. It is when you are surrounded by lower consciousness that you will benefit more from remaining with your individual understandings, and when you are surrounded by higher consciousness that you receive greater benefit from surrender.
It may, therefore, be wise to seek beings of high consciousness. (pdfCWG3-P97)
10. Be of one mind and of single purpose about a thing. And don’t take your mind off of it until you have produced it in reality. Keep focused. Stay centered.
If you choose something, choose it with all your might, with all your heart. Don’t be faint-hearted. Keep going! Keep moving toward it. (pdfCWG2-P18)
11. There should be only one consideration when making any decision-Is this a statement of Who I Am? Is this an announcement of Who I Choose to Be? (pdfCWG2-P19)
12. It is only when you can accept responsibility for all of it that you can achieve the power to change part of it.
So long as you entertain the notion that there is something or someone else out there “doing it” to you, you disempower yourself to do anything about it. Only when you say “I did this” can you find the power to change it.
The first step in changing anything is to know and accept that you have chosen it to be what it is. (pdfCWG1-P29)
13. Whatever you choose for yourself, give to another. Do this sincerely-not because you seek personal gain, but because you really want the other person to have that-and all the things you give away will come to you. (pdfCWG3-P19)
14. The important thing in life is not power, but strength. (pdfCWG3-P36)
15. Never give up hope. Hope is a statement of your highest desire. It is the announcement of your grandest dream. (pdfHWG-P124)
16. The only thing to consider when choosing your job is whether you can express yourself by the job.
17. In any case, do not overdo it. If you overdo anything, the balance will collapse.
