(8) Regret and guilt
Regret and guilt are described in the CWG series as follows.
┌----------
They are not the same.
Regret is your announcement that you did not demonstrate your highest idea about who you are. Guilt is your decision that you are not worthy of doing so ever again.
Guilt is a blight upon the land―the poison that kills the plant. You will not grow through guilt, but only shrivel and die. (pdfCWG-P11)
└----------
That is to say, regret gives you the awareness which improves yourself for your better growth.
On the other hand, guilt is a negative thought to deny yourself.
Therefore, it is not necessary at all that you have guilt.
It is not useful for your growth to depreciate yourself.
You should let go of the past, whether it is a good thing or not. And then you had better take a new step for further growth.
When you stand at a crossroad, you should ask yourself such two questions that "Is this Who I Am? ", and "What would love do now?"
By doing these, your growth will be quickened.
Someday, the event similar to the situation in which you did bad things, is prepared in your life by God.
At that time, you should move into your thoughts, words, and actions to match your grandest vision and most magnificent version.
