Summary of "Conversations with God"  作者: Genten Inou
Ⅳ Revolution of the earth's civilization
18/45

(1) Social change

【 Soon. Very soon. If humanity makes this choice, a movement, a radical shift, in humanity’s understandings about God could occur rapidly. Easily within your lifetime. Within three decades. Perhaps even faster than that, once the first domino falls. 】

(1) Social change

In the CWG series, the themes concerning social change are written as follows.

1. Your present technology is threatening to outstrip your ability to use it wisely. Your society is on the verge of becoming a product of your technology, rather than your technology being a product of your society. When a society becomes a product of its own technology, it destroys itself. (pdfCWG3-P191)

2. The changes of the recent global environment such as global warming are the adaptation phenomenon of the earth itself that is trying to reject human beings who continue to destroy the earth.

3. The extent of the evolution of mankind is still just the beginning.

┌----------

Neale: If the whole of evolution were placed on a football field, where would we be?

God: On the 12-yard line.

N: We're on the 12-yard line of evolution?

G: Hey, you've moved from the 6 to the 12 in the past century alone.

(pdfCWG3-P190)

└----------

4. Once before on your planet, the technology you'd developed was far greater than your ability to use it responsibly. You're approaching the same point in human history again. (pdfCWG3-P191)

5. If the direction that society aims for is on the growth of human souls, the values of modern society will not take them to their aims.

┌----------

You define "benefit" so differently. You see greater benefit in throwing a little white sphere at a man with a bat, or taking one's clothes off on a big silver screen, than in leading offspring to remember life's greatest truths, or sourcing a society's spiritual sustenance.

So you honor, and pay, ballplayers and movie stars more than you do teachers and ministers.

In this, you have everything backward, given where you say that you want to go as a society.

(pdfCWG3-P214)

└----------

6. Some of your human societies have chosen to ignore God altogether and to form a political system based on no involvement with God.

These governments have not done well in the long run, and cannot. The connection with the Divine is instinctual in humanity, and to try to ignore that linkage is futile.

Governments that have sought to eliminate God from the lives of people altogether have found that it is practically impossible to do so. (Tomorrow's God P255)

7. Looking at the social implications of this, it is important to understand the difference between "fairness" and "equality." It is not a basic instinct of all sentient beings to seek equality, or to be equal. Indeed, exactly the opposite is true.

The basic instinct of all living things is to express uniqueness, not sameness.

Equality of opportunity is what is required for this, not equality in fact. This is called fairness. Equality in fact, produced by exterior forces and laws, would eliminate, not produce, fairness. (pdfCWG3-P157)
