By chance, my AliExpress Standard Shipping order was routed via Sierra Leone.
The tracking status stalled within Sierra Leone,
and since it hadn't arrived even after the estimated delivery date (45 days later), I contacted the seller.
They said it was likely lost in transit through Sierra Leone and agreed to a cancellation,
so the order was cancelled and I was immediately refunded.
However, because I had purchased it using the "World Tour" app, 200,000 points were deducted from my account.
It’s a bummer.
Two weeks later—completely out of the blue and two months after the original order—the package quietly arrived.
The tracking status still showed it as being inside Sierra Leone.
The product itself is fine, but the risk of non-delivery or extreme delays when getting routed through Sierra Leone makes me wary of using AliExpress Standard Shipping.
The seller is reputable and there were no issues on their end.
