Prologue The Death Of Seidr

Thank you all for reading this story,if i could tell you how much this story means to me.

Ever since i was a kid,i always felt like i was destined for more.Like i was meant to do more.

but i ignored those feelings, pushed them down and tried to conform to the social norms.I tried my best to be average.2020 happened while i was doing matric.then that feeling came back.by then i was confused while still trying to survive the pandemic.

it wasnt until 2024,Where i was more invested in fantasy, history, and my anime watch time was at its peak.I would finish 2 seasons in one night. When like a strike like lightning.I had this idea of writing a epic fantasy about norse myth. Also by i was working as a credit consultant.

so in my spare i would add lore,so much lore that by mid 2025 i created over 45 000 years of history, magic, conflicts. It was at this point that i realised that i have a full something here.BUT i didnt know squat about writing.so the remainder of the year was me learning how to write.it was until april 2026 i just decided to do the most craziest thing ever.I quit my job to focus more on the story, develop it to the way it is now.

Who did i create this story for?I would like to say i wrote it for my inner child,To CREATE THE MOST AWESOME STORY EVER.But i would be lying. As i am writing currently writing it i realise that i wrote it for all the dreamers, for anyone and everyone who believes that they are destined for more,To go for it,no dream is stupid and if it scares you, just know you are on the right path.as this path i venturing is so terrifying to me,but i will do it anyway.

Asgard the land of the gods, The echelon of the nine realms.

Its usual atmosphere is a bustling heaven of the gods and is considered one of the most prestigious realm in existence. Golden hues fill the sky while gold fills the street, towers, and even mead…yes golden mead.

Its loud music, laughter, euphoric steel against steel was a way of life in Asgard, A vibrant realm where you would see gods just strolling by, feasting ,fighting the immortal [1]einherjar. Only three rules were established : Feast, Fuck, Fight. In that order. For all eternity – But none of that mattered now.

-The music stopped.

-The laughter…gone..

-The clamor of metal clashing was replaced by an eerie feeling and unsettling silence.

Atop Hlidskjal, the Silver Tower, Is the throne of the King of the Gods, That throne was unlike any other. Whoever sat upon it possessed the ability to see across all Nine Realms, witnessing everything that transpired within them.

-And upon that throne stood Freyr.

Freyr, The Vanir god of fertility, magic, nature, war. kingship, peace, prosperity, fair weather, and good harvest.I know,i'm a god of alot of things. My usually composed demeanor had been replaced with the worry of what is coming.

Death…Death was coming.

My blond hair followed the unusual direction of the wind. I had fashioned a boar shaped necklace called Gullinburster, which was made from the branches of the world tree and chaotic energy.

I also fashioned a simple tunic and breeches that sculpted the muscular tall frame of the Vanir god I was ,my posture which was typically relaxed and carefree, was replaced with a stiff rigid posture.

My feet shifted. Shoulders lowered.

Muscles muscles tensed.

Every part of my body settled into a stance from which I could shift into combat at a moment's notice.

My right hand was resting on the hilt of my sword [2]Gudasvärd, the Dwarven blade that pulsed faintly with the life of the World Tree, Yggdrasil.

Suddenly, a presence descended upon Asgard.

A presence of probably the most famous ravens in all the nine realms.

Huginn and Munnin.

The pair circled above me, their black wings cutting through the crimson sky.

Then they began to scream.

"TRAITOR!"

"EVIL GOD!"

"TRAITOR!"

"EVIL GOD!"

I looked upward, my expression darkened. my emerald eyes quietly observing the harbingers of inconveniences.

Then came a sound that shook the heavens.

Shooo! baka baka baka Shwim...

That disturbing sound was none other than the -

The Bifrost gate.

A blinding rainbow of light erupted across Asgard, its brilliance cutting through the crimson clouds. The thunderous shimmer of the bridge echoed throughout the realm.

And from within it...

He emerged.

Odin.The All-Father.

He fashioned his legendary awesome armor called The Raven Shifter.

A divine suit of armor forged for the King of the Gods, granting the old bastard the ability to instantly exchange positions with any of his ravens.A bit pompous if you ask me.

Argh!I hated how arrogant the guy was.I thought.

Huginn suddenly broke away from the circling pair and flew toward the All-Father's throne.

Then, in an instant...

FLASH!

Odin vanished.

Huginn appeared where he had been standing.

And Odin appeared behind me.

The All-Father stood silently for a moment.

Then i slowly turned, Our eyes met.

Odin's expression was cold.

''So it has come to this, ''I said.

''You have left me no choice Freyr, I can't let a snotty brat mess this plan.'' He said while his eye-patch started shifting runes.

''[3]Havi, stop this madness are u really going to sacrifice everything u have built because of a prophecy.'' I said furiously. ''You cannot change fate.''

''Fate! FATE!!"

''What do you know about fate ,you little shit.''

"I am fucking Odin! The All-Father! Ruler of the Nine Realms! Slayer of Ymir!" He said while raising his hand as if to receive something.

"The concept of fate doesn't exist to me."He said.

Gungnir materialized within his grasp, its divine presence making the very air tremble.

"I am not going to let some fucking prophecy dictate the fate of my kingdom!"

I stared at him, comtemplating if I should really fight the All-father.

For a moment, neither god spoke..

I unsheathed my sword,"I guess we're done talking then."

[4]Gamli vinr! Enn einu sinni þarfnast ek hjálpar þinnar.

Safnaðu mætti Yggdrasils ok veittu mér lið,

ó, máttugi Gudasvärd!

"Old friend! Once more I require your aid.

Gather the might of Yggdrasil and lend me your strength,

O mighty Gudasvärd!"

I let go of the sword, but instead of falling, the sword started levitating, pointing its edge at Odin as if it had locked on Odin's Location.

Ohh flying sword, nice…said Odin mockingly.

''Divine Magic : Primordial flame, ''I shouted as six white fireballs surrounded Odin.

"Multiple casting of divine magic. That's why you're called The [5]Seidr King."Odin said with an impressed look on his face.

I clenched my right hand which signaled the fireballs to clash with Odin, which was followed by a massive explosion.Turning Odin's throne room into a poorly designed open roof plan…Get it….No?...Moving on.

However the old crow switched positions with Huginn which happened to be 60 meters overhead me .

He followed to throw Gungnir with a force so great it didn't give me time to think of a real counter.

which my necklace automatically activated a three layer shield and my sword went in front of the shield and spun at even greater force than the speed at which gungnir descended.

The sword didn't block the spear, rather it deflected it.giving me enough time toprepare a counter.

''You just sacrificed your bird,''Havi,I said while summoning a small rounded shield and equipped my sword on my right hand.

''Sweet Huginn, his Sacrifice will not be in vain,I can always create more.'' He said while calling his magic spear to himself.

We locked eyes once more.

It was almost like we were waiting for either one to make a 1st move,in what felt like the longest 8 seconds ever.

Suddenly Like a flash of lightning, we both disappeared and appeared in close range in which what followed next was a clash so beautiful it became a sonata of steel,A symphony of the gods.I was faster, but the crusty crow hit harder ,way harder.

It was only a matter of time until one of us went off-key.

Then Odin destroyed the eave of the tower we were fighting upon, sending us both plummeting from a sixty-five-meter drop.

Yet the fight never stopped.

Even as we fell, Odin and myself continued trading blows, our weapons and fists colliding in midair.

"Divine Magic: Surtr's Lance!"

Three flaming lances materialized behind Odin's back.

"Fuck, that's cheating!" Odin shouted.

Which he immediately raised Gungnir and deflected two of the three flaming lances.

Odin twisted through the air and drove a devastating kick into my abdomen.I barely had time to react before he knocked the wind out of me.

The third lance pierced straight through him.

We continued our descent, blood and flame trailing behind us, until we finally crashed into the ground below.

I was the first to stand. Barely...

Odin, the All-Father, was not so fortunate.

The flame lance had done real damage. Blood seeped between his fingers as he pressed a hand against his abdomen, struggling just to remain upright.

"I never wanted it to become like this," Odin said. "For it to end like this. I told you I had a plan for us to survive Ragnarök."

He looked toward me.

"Freyr... Ugh!"He said while he doubled over.

"Cough! Cough! Cough!"

He steadied himself against the broken chunks of the tower's eave scattered across the ground.

"Boy... dying is not an option I want. I want to prevent Ragnarök and save the Nine Realms. Why are you stopping me?"

I tightened the grip of my weapon.

"I'm s-sorry, Havi. But you have to be stopped."

"Div...Ugh...Divine Magic: Primordial Fireball!"

A gigantic sphere of primordial flame materialized above my outstretched hand.

Then i stopped.

"Wait." Odin shouted!

I frowned. What trick did he want to say to me this time?

"Answer me one thing. Just... one question."

"What?"

Odin's eye narrowed.

"What skills do my precious ravens possess?"

I froze.

"You mean Huginn and Muninn?"

Odin nodded.

"Huginn is responsible for space travel, and Muninn is... mind control."

my expression changed. It couldn't be what i thought,Have i been got.

"Wait..."

My eyes widened."Then that would mean..."

My voice began to tremble. "No."

I took a step backward."For how long?"

Odin smiled faintly.

"So you're telling me I'm caught in your-"

"Yes, boy." Odin's smile widened.

"Divine magic : Requiem of the reverie ." he said with the most evil grin you would ever seen.

My breathing became erratic.

"So I can't even tell which of this is real and which is fake..."

"Exactly."

Odin slowly raised his head.

"But I'm feeling quite kind today."His smile disappeared.

"So I'll help you out."

My eyes widened.

"Wait..."

Schlk!

A sudden pain erupted in my chest. Gungnir had pierced straight through my lungs.

I coughed violently, blood pouring from my mouth.

The scene shifted.

Zhumm! Shhhaapa! Ka doom!

The real battlefield appeared.

Me and Odin were still atop the silver tower.

We had never left it.

My body collapsed as Odin yanked Gungnir from my chest. Blood erupted from the wound

"When will you ever rea-realize it? "My voice barely above a whisper.

"The more you meddle with it , try to prevent it....the more you make the prophecy come true."

We'll see about that ,Goodbye Yngvi. As he swapped positions with Huginn which had made its way to the bifrost.

With the faintest movement of my fingers, I summoned the last traces of divine magic.

A soft, invisible light blossomed beneath the surface of the earth, threading through the roots of Yggdrasil—a spell of concealment, one that would hide my final incantation from Odin's all-seeing eye and his exhausting ravens.

My lips moved silently, the faintest whisper of a chant escaping as my breath grew ragged.

It was a secret spell, cast in light that only Yggdrasil would sense, a vow that would ripple through the ages, unseen by the Allfather.

Í gegnum óbrotnar rætur skal þessi máttur sofa,

í hinni kyrru jǫrð, þar sem skuggar skríða.

Láti ekkert auga sjá né eyra heyra,

þetta heit, er ek sver, fjarri ótta Óðins.

Lífseldr, sáð máttar,

skal vakna, þá er tími er réttur.

Í þeim, er hjarta sannarlega slær,

mun verðugr maðr halda sverði mínu,

með hjarta ok heiðri skal engi falla.

Á myrkum tímum, undir grimmri stjórn örlaganna,

láti guð sólar ok akra snúa aftur ok lýsa dag.

Við nafn Freys skal þetta heit taka gildi,

máttur minn endurfæddr í þeim, er verðr þess verðugr.

Þar til verk Freys er loksins unnit.

Translation :

"Through roots unbroken, this power shall sleep,

In the quiet earth, where shadows creep.

Let no eye see, nor ear hear,

This vow I make, far from Odin's fear.

A flame of life, a seed of might,

Shall awaken when the time is right.

To one whose heart beats true,

Worthy hands shall grip my blade,

In heart and honour, none shall fade.

In times of darkness, under fate's cruel sway,

Let the god of sun and fields return to light the day.

By the name of Freyr, let this oath take flight,

My essence reborn, in the one who earns the right."

Till Freyr's might is finally done."

The magic woven through the chant was delicate but potent. The light it created flickered deep within Yggdrasil's roots, unnoticed by Odin, who turned away, believing his betrayal complete.

The spell had been cast, and my essence, hidden by the light magic, seeped into the World Tree –

Awaiting the arrival of the warrior destined to inherit the power of the mighty Vanir god.

The roots of Yggdrasil pulsed faintly, absorbing my essence. A soft, green glow spread through the earth, connecting the realms.

My spirit had become one with the World Tree, my final command….etched into its very being.

As the light faded, my body grew still. Myeyes, once filled with life and determination, now stared blankly at the stormy sky.

Truly i say this,My body, once brimming with divine power, now lay lifeless upon the cracked ground of Valaskjálf. It was a shame.A shame indeed.

I know my essence will endure,it was to.for i staked the future of the nine realms in this one plan.

My death was not the end.It was only the beginning.

[1]Immortal warriors who live in Valhalla and are just waiting for the twilight of the gods.

[2]Freyrs sword which laterally translates to divine sword.the original language in sweden.

[3]the language you see here is the language of the gods(just old norse which is sometimes icelandic, nordic and swedesh.)

[4]Seidr is the the spiritual force, supernatural power, that inhabits people, animals, objects, and locations.

[5]Havi is just one of the 200 + nicknames of Odin.
