Named Richard the Vierodon for his size and strength, Richard has been a great king in and out of battle. There has only been a single stain on his reign and that is the looming civil war from a dissatisfied group of nobles within the kingdom. This has been his principle focus since ending the wars that plagued his early rule. And this focus is why he decided to use Lucien for his own ends.
Much like Lucien, Richard was but a boy when he came into power. Unlike Lucien however Richard was only eleven when his father passed on leaving him the throne and so had yet been to battle or established himself a reputation. This forced him to learn quickly with the aid of regents and tutors but has caused him a great many problems from the nobility.
While a proud king Richard sometimes finds himself doubting his self as the weight of the crown can be impossibly heavy at times. But he never lets this control him and he continues forward despite everything that has gone wrong and looks to go wrong. He has such an inspiring presence that he naturally attracts the most upstanding characters to him and causes those of lesser quality to dislike him.
The one thing that can paralyze him though is his fear of the east. As a young man he witnessed the power of the east first hand when a small company of two hundred held back the entire two thousand man strong right flank of the army Richard was fighting against and nearly annihilated them. Since that day he has had a great fear of those from the east and has strengthened the old traditions of dealing with those from the east.
King Richard possesses great size and strength when compared to his people and greater strength of will and character. His long brown hair has yet to start graying despite his premature aging and his beard is neatly trimmed. The many wars and constant stress of being king has caused his face to prematurely age making him look at least fifteen years older than he is.

A loyal member of the nobility Count Draeken has obtained a position next to the crown as personal advisor and right hand. Everything he does is for the betterment and survival of Reval under King Richard IV. He is highly regarded amongst the nobility even those that oppose the king, except by Duke Castellen who cannot stand him. But despite his high regard many of the nobles loyal to the king view him as an upstart.
In his youth Archibald established himself as a great warrior. He fought on every battlefield the Reval military was on and survived combat in all of them while wearing armor that marked him as a leader and noble. Unlike other nobles he would fight on foot next to his men where he felt they were weakest putting his life in their hands. Now as an older man he has continued to distinguish himself as an overall campaign commander and as a politician.
Now in his older age Count Draeken's face shows the wear of his time as a soldier on the front lines. His long dark hair is graying, his blue eyes stern and crisp and his voice proud and confident. Despite his great reputation and abilities Draeken is rather small in stature and size, surprising many.

Captain Marcus is the youngest Captain in the history of the King's Royal Guard having drug his minor noble family from the brink of absolute peasantry to heights not seen in centuries. All by the sheer skill he possesses in warfare. He is absolutely loyal to King Richard IV and would gladly die for him. He is one of the few that holds no ill opinions of Count Draeken as he views him as a kindred spirit.
Aside from his loyalty to King Richard IV, only two people motivate Marcus to do better and both of them are from the Draeken family, Count Archibald Draeken and Captain John Draeken. He views the count as an ideal to pursue and John as his peer and friendly rival.
His silver-blonde hair has just enough length to it that he can try comb it back though it stands on its own and his face is always perfectly shaved everyday. His blue eyes are piercing and proud, while his voice is strong. He is quite the large person in comparison to most in Reval but he is built of muscle.

Captain John Draeken has followed his adopted father in Count Draeken steps quite well. At only twenty-three John has established himself as a formidable warrior whose equal is only Captain Marcus. His command abilities place him above the Count when he was of such an age, marking John as extremely gifted and possessing a bright future. As such he has quite a good reputation and is well liked amongst the people of Reval.
John was adopted by his older cousin Count Draeken after his father was killed on the battlefield and his mother took her own life in her grief. But he has not let this bring him down. He has used this to fuel his enormous work ethic, giving him the edge on nearly everyone has he is also immensely talented. But this has not made him all that ambitious. He wishes to repay his cousin and adopted father for all he has done for him and has no desire to supplant his adopted siblings' rights to what is rightfully theirs. Unlike his adopted siblings John has been allowed to pursue a life of his choosing and allowed to succeed on his own. While he respects Captain Marcus he does not view him in the same way, feeling that the captain is a more than worthy comrade in arms.
The only thing John lacks confidence in is with women. Having spent every waking moment training to better himself as a warrior and commander John has very little experience with women and is unsure if he should court the woman he is smitten with.
Unlike his cousin, John is a bull of a man with rather handsome and square jawed features. While not as tall as King Richard IV, John is just as large in size and his body is pure muscle. He trains daily and has begun inventing ways to push harder with exercising and lifting weights. His dark hair is cut short preventing any real styling beyond a simple combing and his face is shaven every morning. His blue eyes do betray the hardships he has faced but he would never let it show on his face.
