Chapter 10: Shift I part 2
The guards at the front charges toward the woman with their shields trying to take space away from her, but she jumps up high with her left arm above her head while creating water consistently swirling into a ball on her palm. The guard mages finish charging up their magic, firing a different elemental attack towards her. Her eyes flash before a sudden gravitational force pulls her towards the ground. A large rush of water burst out of the dome’s door with a few guards forcefully pushed the dome out the dome while a guard as large as a gorilla slowly walks towards the dome.
The instant the water crashed against his ankles, a blinding sheet of ice exploded outward, devouring the waves as it raced across the surface. The woman instinctively jumped before the ice traps, her feet landing on top of the ice field. Then, another sharp crack echoed, succeeded by a final thud, creating vibrations through the ice. With no breaks, the thuds get louder and faster quickly; the large guard charges towards the woman while yelling a battle cry. Right before he can make contact, she dodges to the side before sweeping him towards the ground while creating a large fire lance from the tip of her fingers and firing it, piercing the guard's chest.
「They took out big Jerry!」
「HOW! That man’s big like big big. He can lift a mansion while balancing on a unicycle. It’s impossible to defeat him.」
The two security guards looked at the screen in shock and awe at the massacre.
「I don’t think that story is true, Jay.」
「What do you mean it’s false, we talking about big Jerry!」
「But on a unicycle, that sounds ridiculous.」
「You’re ridiculous.」
「No, you’re - Wait, this isn’t important, we need to call back up.」
「no I think this is very important; I think Jerry can lift a mansion while balancing on a unicycle.」
「Can we just call for backup before we talk?」
「Fine.」
The guard picks up the microphone and held a red button. Speakers from every room echoes to all corners of the facility.
「All guards, we need lots of reinforcements for a woman with long blonde hair in facility D013 to. I repeat, we need lots of reinforcements for a woman with long blonde hair in facility D013.」
He lets go of the red button and swings his chair towards the other security guard.
「Ok, now can we continue on, big Jerry?」
An army of guards marched towards the corridor, passing through the two guards dragging Nikola while he is shaken up and lost in his own thoughts.
「It's not possible. Aco-cording to my calculation she should be obedient.」
「Maybe it might be a mistep, Nikola.」
「Im-impossible, i doubled no quadriple checked my work. I never make a mistake like that.」
「Well, there's no time to think about it now. We need to -.」
A guard halted and looked at the two guards. He jogged towards them, escorting Nikola.
「Hey you two, where are you going? The dome is this way.」
「Sorry Larry, escorting Nikola away from her is our top priority」
「Oh, good luck then.」
Both saluted to each other.
「Stay safe brother.」
「You too.」
The mysterious woman slowly strolled through the door into a corridor, greeting with a group of guards charging towards her. One swung towards her head at a downward angle, trying to strike her head, but she narrowly dodged the attack while round house kicking his back with her fiery feet. Another tried to stab her back but she bend over somersault kicking him upwards. Three other guards charges towards her at the same time trying to swing with her batons but she instantly shot three vines out, her hand instantly wrapping around the batons and yanking it off, stumbling the three guards. She instantly followed it up with her other hand, transforming into strands of jellyfish's tentacles shooting onto the three guards piercing their armour, stinging them, followed by an electric shock stunning them onto the ground.
The guards halted their charge and started chanting together, creating a large light ball firing towards the woman. With a touch of her palms, she condensed the magic into a small ball and consumed it, making her glow gold for a moment.
「What was that?」
「I don’t know, but I want to go home now.」
The guard was confused, while the others tried to escape.
「We just- oh.」
He looked towards the mysterious woman with her arm completely transformed into a dragon's head, pointing in their direction. The dragon opened its mouth, unleashing a cataclysmic torrent of flames that instantly engulfed the entire corridor, incinerating the guards alive. The corridor, now appearing even larger in its devastation, was utterly blackened with a few defiant patches of fire still flickering. But in the distance stands a large man holding both of his hands out, creating a protective barrier blocking the attack. A few guards behind him are sitting down huffing and puffing.
With one small but quick blow from the woman's mouth, instantly created a large blast of wind instantly extinguished the flames while breaking the barrier. She walks into the corridor, recreating the ground with each step she takes into the corridor.
「Is it ok if I take this fight alone?」
「please do, Galahad. That chick is a monster.」
He jumpers into the air while creating a small reflective barrier below his feet; he lands onto the barrier while bending both of his knees, launching him instantly towards her while engulfing his body in flames. Explosions rippled through the entire corridor, causing the guards to recoil.
「I think …. He did it.」
The guards celebrated, hiding each other while frolicking around.
「That’s my man Galahad; I’m buying a beer later tonight.」
「Bro, he gave up alcohol after shavings so he doesn’t become a child beating dad.」
「I’ll just give him some chocolate then.」
They celebrated while the smoke subsided, revealing Galahad choking from the grasp of the woman. The guards' celebration instantly turn into silence and fear. She drew Galahad close, and with a single poke to his forehead, he simply vanished.
「HE KILLED G G GALAHAD!」
「NOOOOO, HE WAS GOING TO BE THE BEST MAN TO MY WEDDING.」
Her eyes rolled with an exasperated sigh before she releases a potent surge of energy swept through her eyes, dropping every ground towards the floor. She continues walking towards the end of the corridor, passing every guard on the floor. At the end of the corridor lies a small lounge containing three elevators that face the corridor. She taps the call button and silently waited until the door finally opened, entering the elevator. With a quick glance towards the button, she pressed the highest button she can go.
Two guards are standing in front of a corridor facing the elevators, bored out of their minds.
「This sucks man; why do I have to work today? I couldn’t even get my free birthday beer at Kinect Taverns.」
「I get how you feel Coney, but you are damn lucky you are only here to guard the elevators. I don’t want to fight that monster; you heard what they did to big Jerry?」
「Yeah, I guess so. But it would be so cool if I could get a beer.」
The elevator doors slowly opens catching the attention of the two guards. Without time to react, both guards were instantly grabbed onto their faces and dragged into a black void before slamming onto the ground.
「Ugh, what was that?」
「I don’t know but -」
They both looked around the small wooden bar, confused how they got here.
「Oh Nah, I need to go back now. I can’t get fired now. I need the money to pay next month's rent.」
Coney stands up and sits down at the bar counter.
「There’s no point; we are at Kinect Taverns. It takes a 30-minute walk to get back and even then, we will probably arrive too late to help. You want to celebrate my birthday? The drinks will be on me.」
He stands up and sits right next to Coney.
「Well, I guess so.」
