The teacher's letter continues.
"The night that something went wrong between Ryosaku-kun and Minegishi-san, I became worried and called her home.
The person who answered the phone was her mother, Tokiko-san, and when I asked her how Mieko-san was doing, she told me in a strong tone.
"Mieko will be absent from school for a while!"
