Chapter 93
What Ryosaku saw during the car ride was a stunning contrast, created by the vast, idyllic fields and the forests scattered around the fields - so-called "windbreaks" - that increased as they headed north and away from the city.
And then there was the road they were now traveling on, stretching straight from east to west, north to south, as if drawn by a ruler.
(I don't remember seeing a view like this in my hometown of T prefecture. If that forest wasn't there, I would be able to see all the way to the horizon.)
After driving for a while, the light truck finally arrived at a lovely log cabin-style farmhouse, with a quiet atmosphere and a northern feel.
The place is located east of the center of Kamishihoro town, and is quiet and has fresh air...to Ryosaku it felt like an "agricultural mecca" in the northern land.
A piercing blue sky and endless fields that look like grasslands...and coniferous trees in a windbreak gently watch over the fields...
(Ahh... what a beautiful landscape. It's like looking at a magnificent "nature album". Lisa-chan, you must be living in such a wonderful environment...)
"Ryosaku-kun, what's wrong? You're spacing out."
Ryosaku's father lightly tapped him on the shoulder, and Ryosaku came back to his senses.
"Oh, sorry, Kenichi-san. The view was so beautiful that I couldn't help but stare at it."
"Hahaha, isn't that right? I know it sounds strange to say it myself, but I think this place is the most scenic spot in the local area...or maybe I should say, it's quite a famous spot."
"...It really is a beautiful sight....I can't find such a clear, refreshing view in my hometown of T prefecture."
"That's right... When Ryosaku-kun told me that, I looked around and realized... Oh, our house is right in the middle of a wonderful location, and I'm really impressed. Anyway... Let's talk about what we've been up to at home. Lisa will be back in the evening."
