Chapter 1 - Rough Landing
Before I knew what was happening I found myself within a storm of colors, like the kind that would make me a bit sick if I had a stomach to get sick with right now. Recalling the... I'm just gonna call them Hood. Recalling Hood's words I start focusing on my body, my self image and the colors start moving differently, flowing into my own colors as a body starts to take shape. Once it started it was quick to finish and then I found myself, quite literally, dropped into this new world.
(Ria) "OhThisIsGodsDamnedBullshit!"
I find myself spouting profanity as I fall through a few tree branches, getting some scrapes for my trouble and probably some bruises for later... ow. Seriously Hood? Could you have politely dropped a lady into something soft? Oh yeah, my body, lemme do a once over.
Looking myself over I found pretty much what I expected for a body, a female one at that, with light skin, but a few distinct issues arose... I. HAVE. NO. CLOTHES. That was probably my biggest issue, but also my ears were slightly pointed, kinda elf like, and I had silvery-blonde hair. I could feel around my mouth, all my teeth were there, but my upper and lower canines were a bit sharper than expected, huh. I'd need to confirm with a reflection, but I assume I have crystal blue eyes since I made this body... at least mostly.
Now where am I? A forest, that explains the tree I broke with my rather dynamic entry, seriously still a bit peeved at that Hood. I guess this is a blessing though, let's find some plants and see if I can make some clothes with my ability. It takes a bit till I find a plant that I just instinctively know is fibrous enough, and quite a bit of it too, so I set to start picking the plants only to have an urge in the back of my mind to raise my hand towards the plants instead. I go ahead and follow the urge, feeling energy well up in my hand as the plants turn into dust like particles and flow into my hand and I instinctively know that this plant is called Maoe Long grass, and know that I have the plant fiber somewhere in my magic.
(Ria) "Okay that is fuckin' weird, how did I know what its called? Well I suppose that's fine to ask later."
I then decide to create some simple clothes, and in using my power I found how it worked, a pair of translucent needles appeared with the plant fiber coming from seemingly thin air, but I knew it was coming from my magic, so I got to work and before long I was done; a sleeveless top and some shorts, both lovingly made of plant fiber... who am I kidding this is the lowest grade material, and the clothes while incredibly well stitched and sturdy, look like they were made of potato bags. I did however make a couple of discoveries; One, only seconds had passed since I started crafting. Two, I only had absorbed the one plant but I made a whole clothes set, meaning my magic is capable of producing an infinite supply of a resource I have obtained... that seems broken, but also ignites my collector's spirit, I always was the kind of person to find every interesting thing in games, and collect every ingredient in RPGs. I immediately tried to absorb a tree for its wood, but found I couldn't, so I had a hypothesis here; I can only absorb things that I can carry by hand as is, or there is a limit of material types that I need to expand somehow. I settle for testing the first idea and decide to cut down a tree. While inconvenient, it makes me smile; I'm glad I can't just immediately gain every material, that'd be no fun. Now then, time to look for stones!
So after an hour or so of gathering and experimenting I managed to make a stone knife, a stone hatchet thanks to a sturdy fallen branch because I sure as hell wasn’t going to start this adventure punching trees, and a stone pick again thanks to said branch. Now armed with TOOLS I set about felling the mighty tree, and goodness do I have newfound respect for lumber workers, it took me nearly half an hour cause I did it wrong at first, and on top of that I realized that a saw would be better, but oh well, I defeated the tree! After trying again I managed to absorb the tree, and now knew that it was Maoe Pine Trees... I'm seeing a theme with the names, I wonder if this place is called the Maoe Forest? Oh well, turns out the wood is really good for carpentry so I set about remaking the tools I had with more solid handles and proper inserts for the business parts of the tools. Now then, what to do about shelter, I have wood so I could theoretically make a house, but that might... lets just say a sudden new house in a forest might draw unwanted attention, plus I don't wanna stay here, I wanna travel. So I decided on making a tent, using plenty of that plant fiber to make layered sheets, and as I started on the wooden poles and supports a new translucent tool appeared, a hammer, an awl, and a chisel. My hands and body seemed to know instinctively what to do, and as it worked I committed each process to memory so I could do it with actual tools if I wanted. After what felt like an hour of work my tent was done, well it was made but not set up. This was because it was time for the last of the three essentials; food, so I made a bow and arrows, all from pine, plant fiber, and stone. I knew these would only take down smaller game, and next to useless against anything or anyone with even basic armor, but that was all I needed.
