Ultimate Human
"So, what do we do, Shūhei?"
"We might be able to focus on one side and force our way through, but they have weapons."
One of the clones who entered through the doors on one side of the classroom had a survival knife, and the other pulled several cafeteria knives and forks from his pocket.
"Well, I guess I become the decoy again and meet up later."
"No, Using you as decoy here won't change the situation. In that case…"
I held the chair in both hands and turned around.
"Hey, what are you going to do?"
"Smash!"
I slammed my chair against the window with all my might.
"Head outside!"
"Hey, here is the second floor, you know?"
Saying that, Shōta and I jumped out the window at once.
Without hesitation, we leaped from the second-floor window. The impact was absorbed perfectly by our legs, leaving only a slight numbness. Fortunately, the ground was grass, which cushioned the blow.
"Did we get away with it?"
"Let’s go!"
I took a moment to catch my breath and then started running again.
"To where?"
"Where Minami is hiding!"
"I feel excited."
"What are you enjoying yourself when your life is in danger?"
"Because, you know, you see this kind of situation in movies when spies break into places."
We are walking down the first floor hallway, hiding, not making a sound of footsteps.
"If they find us, we'll have to run again. We'd better go carefully here."
"I know it."
"Bam!"
I heard a dull sound like something hit on the ground from behind.
"Aaaah!"
"What?"
We walked quickly to find where the scream comes from.
"There!"
Shōta pointed to the library.
"Hey its her! What was her name again."
At the end of the fully opened library door was Kurumi Mishima.
"They are Tsutomu and Ms. Misaki’s clone!"
"Oh my god. Shall we stop them?"
"Of course!"
Shōta had jumped out before I could take a step forward.
But before that, Ichirō and Kazuhiro appeared before Kurumi.
"What are you doing? Come!"
Ichirō pulled Kurumi's hand and Kazuhiro stood in front of the clone.
"Take her and get the hell out of there. We’ll meet somewhere else and reconsider our plan."
"Yes!"
Kazuhiro then quickly got behind the clones and pushed the bookshelf full of books as hard as he could.
"Stay there for a moment, alright?"
The clones quickly became trapped under the bookshelf.
"Damn. I guess Shūhei’s team is also…"
"Kazuhiro!"
"Shōta, Shūhei. I guess you failed as well."
"I'm sorry. I was having hard time uniting the team. And in the meantime, your clones came and attack us."
"Looks like the killer is watching what we're doing. It's not going the way we want it to. So, it's just the two of you now?"
"We divided the group among three high school students, four that consists of two middle school students, and two teachers. The remaining one is a resurrected middle school kid. His name is Okisada. He's a little radical, and I'm having trouble with that."
"Then that's him, I guess. The one who killed Ichirō's clone."
"What? One clone got killed?"
"Yeah, so now we're all protecting Ichirō̄̄."
"I’m sorry. Because of me…"
"Leave the penance for later. Besides, we can't handle this on our own anymore. Except to fight…"
"Then…"
"Yeah, we'll do everything we can to kill you."
Kazuhiro's eyes were filled with burning enthusiasm.
However, that sense of intimidation quickly subsided.
"Are you runnning away?"
Shōta stopped Kazuhiro, who was walking away from us, showing his back.
"That's a stupid question. One against two is not good. Moreover, if it's a real survival game, and not a reloadable game, we have to be even more careful."
Kazuhiro then left the library.
