Deceitful Truth
"Oh, why are you guys here?"
As we were searching a ninth grade classroom on the second floor for the head, someone entered.
"Risa!"
"You are alive."
Once Risa wiped away the sweat dripping down to her cheeks, she grabbed me by the collar, and pulled.
"What do you mean by that? Do you want to me to die?"
Risa kicked me out of the classroom while holding my collar.
"He, hey. Where are you bringing me to?"
"I’ve already searched this classroom."
"I said move!"
As I was being pulled out to the hallway, I looked in the direction of the voice.
"What? Young people today are very rebellious against adults. I'm glad my own son is a clone. Because it's a doll, it obeys me obediently."
There was a loudly yelling male student and a middle-aged woman arguing.
"She is been manipulated…"
"How cruel."
Risa expressed her opinion as monotonously as ever.
"Glad that my own son is a clone, she said."
"If that was my mom, I'd be heartbroken for sure."
Keisuke answered sadly.
"Minoru! Where were you? I was looking for you all this time."
One clone appeared from behind the woman.
"Let’s find it. Or else you would be dead. Listen, If you ever find yourself in danger, I will always be there to help you."
The mother grinned at the clone with a purely smile. That clone did not even make eye contact, just nodded once.
"I can’t watch this."
Risa and Kazuhiro turned away from the scene at the same time.
"Anyway, we need to find the guard's head as soon as possible, before there are any new victims."
"Oh, so Shūhei finally acts heroic too. Well, I don’t mind it. So where is the place you haven’t look for yet?"
Kazuhiro turned his head to me once and then turned back to Risa.
"All that's left are the classrooms on the other side, the music room and the art room."
"Mom! Why? Why are you with that? The real one is me!"
As if to drown out Risa's words, a female student grabbed onto someone who looked like her mother.
"What on earth are you? I don’t know who you are. My only daughter is this Hitomi. Stop bossing me, you human girl."
The female student crouched down on the spot and began to cry.
"Listen, Hitomi. Don’t get deceived by this. A woman's tears are there to deceive others. Your mother is always on your side, and I will not allow anyone to stand in Hitomi's way."
"Waaah! Mom! Stay away from that clone."
"You still say that, you little bitch! I don't remember giving birth to a stupid child like you!"
With these words, the girls finally lost her mind.
"Aaah! I will kill you!"
The female student pulled a pair of scissors out of her skirt pocket and tried to thrust them toward the clone.
"Look out! Hitomi!"
The mother intervened and quickly grabbed the female student's hand holding the scissors, bent the student's elbow, and stabbed her right in the chest.
"Aaa…Mom…"
"Huh, since you're the one who attacked us, that would be either an emergency evacuation or self-defense."
The clone and his mother walked away without any tears.
"Cruel…"
A chill ran down my spine as I watched the whole event.
"We have to save her…"
"Wait, Shūhei. Did you forget? You have to prioritize your own life now. What can you do with her?"
I looked sideways at the female student who had fallen face down in a pool of blood. I could only regret on my own helplessness.
"Think of what you can do."
"I'm sorry..."
I didn't know who I am apologizing to.
"We need to hurry."
Keisuke also showed a bitter expression.
"Let’s split into two. I’m worried about Minami."
"Okay, me and Shūhei are going to look for the remaining classrooms. You and Keisuke go find Minami."
Kazuhiro quickly gave instructions.
"Yes."
"Okay."
"I told you, the scariest thing for real is human."
Kazuhiro blurted out these words and watched Keisuke and Risa running away.
