“Jin, there’s something that’s been on my mind for while?” (Celia)
“What?” (Jin)
“What’s with that violent thing.” (Celia)
“Is my Bantu spear really something for pillow talk?” (Jin)
Yeah, it should be just past midnight since we reported too Anne so we had a little fun until now. It’s been like this since day one but on and off depending on work - slave master aren’t inhibitive by nature and I’m no virgin so we get along fine.
“‘Bantoo’?” (Celia)
“Bantu. And you’re spot on to call it violent: the man who gave it to me told me he just woke up one day and chose violence to make that spear.” (Jin)
“Is that man alright in his head?” (Celia)
You who owns a slave has no right to speak about others.
This spear was a gift to me from an owner of a building - he used it to lease his cousin sister (an A*rBnB owner) as a hotel. We met while I was staying and had a pleasant chat about the art displayed in the building.
Turns out that he was the artist behind it all and he made it in the lease agreement that his art has to be on display for international tenants to see - his way of bumping up the arts value without having to sell. They were all wonderful pieces and it gave The feeling that I was sleeping in a museum.
He introduced himself not as a Land owner or artist but as an “African Renaissance Benefactor”. The real purpose for the hotel was to bring people in touch with his philosophies and make an easy warning from it - a really scary guy.
One painting was of an African warrior with a tonfa - an Asian blunt weapon that looks like a police baton. But it had a blade at the bottom end of the road (near the handle grip) and a sphere at the opposite end (modelled after another weapon called a “knobkierie”).
He said that much like the Bantu education system of Apartheid era South Africa - the country the hotel was in - this spear World be “the bastard of history”. A martial art that meant to be cruel with no care for its victims .
As I told Celia all this,
“… Is that guy REALLY alright in the head!?” (Celia)
“It’s his heart, not his head, that might be the issue…” (Jin)
I say that but here I am using his spear to brutally slaughter monsters for the sake of my own comfort - it’s weird saying that as a slave. Not just that but that man’s philosophies are helpings me create tools and magic that outperforms the standard in this world.
