“I can’t say anything back.”

Another world cooking road - EDA-sensei

It’s been over two months since we had our first of many meetings to continue in our adventuring lives. We covered supplies, finances, dealings, necessities and adventuring strategies in particular.

Yeah, I know it’s man’s romance to take up his sword against monsters and fight to protect his beloved(?) master but come on: THEY ARE MONSTERS! I’ vs been fighting roaches and bugs the size of German Shepherds and I’ve come to realise that monster in this world is defined by being “grotesque and beyond common sense”.

There are normal sized roaches and animals but with the information I collected, it seems these dungeons are the birthplace for monsters and the monsters live by eating each other and growing stronger. I know that monsters can’t climb out unless they eat a human (outside to the dungeon) and it “somehow” boosts their constitution soo that they can climb out.

From this it’s easy to understand that we can just leave the monsters alone but apparently there is a probability of dungeons overflowing and the monsters break out in hordes. It’s not wise to let this happen soo adventurers are sent in to handle the numbers and as long as it is deem necessary to stay nearby a dungeon, human civilisation will have to factor the dungeon into their livelihood with high priority.

Anyways, I won’t take chances with my life (especially when it’s in the hands of a wreckless elf) so I’ve made connections with the craftsmen in the village to make poisons, teargas and other weapons that would suppress a monster and give me the chance to easily finish them off.

I’ve also talked it over with Celia that she take charge of the rear and me in the front because I have martial arts training from my time in South Africa with short spears. And as if it were template, Celia is an elf ranger soo she is best with a bow and magic.

Now about magic, I am having her teach me how but it seems the rules of magic are lax in this world. There’s no rigged game system were only Elves can do this and humans that.

Rather, magic depends solely on your imagination, practicality, and energy. You can’t make gold out of thin air BUT i did make a magnetism spell to prospect precious minerals from the calm parts of the river with ease - one of many spells that can’t be made public.

As were making good money, I was able to get Anne to help me improve the economy of the village soo that we would have at least better building materials and agriculture. When she heard my plans, her eyes changed to that of a predator.

Note back to the dungeon: We’ve been making slow but steady progress as I build and place structures in the dungeon. Although a dungeon seems to be a cavern, for it to just bitter monsters means that it is of organic material - still not sure about it all.

I deem the dungeon itself as a subterranean and large monster with an orifice for prey to enter and offspring to exit. I find it strange that the structures I place are not eaten up but this works in my favour.

These structures proved the strategic advantage for a part of two come out on top. When I was solo diving, I was about to go down to the third floor but fate has other plans - had I not “met” Celia, I would have gotten in a pinch.

Speaking of pinches,

"! Jin, run away!" (Celia)

We just walked upto one just now - no, it’s just charging straight at us! Celia was able to spot a party of an Ox, an Elf and a human but she also heard a monster chasing after them - should I be annoyed that those Bullish bastards are coming this way or delighted that I can get an eye for an eye?

"Are we not going to help them?" (Jin)

We are now on the 5th floor of the [Pest Dungeon] - monster Insects and Arachnids are born here. We came down here to grind some power - turns out Humans also gain power from killing monsters.

"Put some barriers between use! They’re the ones herding whatever that is over here and when you run for your life, trip someone else’s leg! away!" (Celia)

"You’re so brutally honest, I can’t say anything back." (Jin)

Anime phrase I always wanted to say #9!

"It's an order." (Celia)

“Hei, hei.” (Jin)

I quickly pull out the wooden rods and concrete mix from my food stall. Celia casts vegetation magic to make the rods grow out into caltrops the size of a middle schooler and I cast soil magic to carry the mix to the sticks and coat them thickly.

With a whole passage full of traps, Celia now casts moisture magic to gather water in the air and wet the concrete mix. I cast wind magic to instant cure the concrete.

Although, we’ve abandoned the retreat option, we’re make quick progress. Hell, we can finish this and leave the rest to the [Bullish party] - our [Embler party] will tell the village of their brave fight!

"Oi! We’ve got an [escapee] here! Get to work!!” (Obelisk)

“”… Tsk.”” (Jin & Celia)
