[Meanwhile] in Mesop III (TBE)
The 10-day MBA - Steven Silbiger
I'm surprised.
"Welcome, Embler party, to the Sacred Palace of Mesop."
"Thank you for your welcome."
This is the inner lands of the Northwest(?) lands, home of the Panda-ear clan, and this building is THE Palace that governs all of Mesop. This //chines like palace// Deep into the North of Mesop, only the elites of the Panda-ear clan ever see the inner walls of this building. And yet we, a gathering of common adventurers from many differnet origins, are walking through its decorated halls. I'm truly surprised.
As we make our way to the //master's hall//, I'm still dazed as to how I got here - how this mess of a party brought me along. I needed help with a mess I made and got more than just help - I found guidance. I used to struggle against my enemies many times my size and number, with only my wits and uncommon tactics. the Groin went a step further and changed the entire battlefield to his own convenience, he could just skip through any and every madness so long as he dress the the occasion itself to suit him. The dissapointing elf doesn't hide her own twisted nature and uses it to her own fancy, manipulating and dominating any person she can be it enemy, ally and even the innocent - she controlled the immedaite conversation and enslaved a man that could plot the next conversation for her. The princess, only useful for battle, could command and inspire anyone in the chaos of battle and makes the best call on the mission but failed in social settings. And the other social outcast was actually a young master in the brutality of murder and survival, opting or extremely hidden battles over my concealed weapons.
I've long given up the idea that I was their guide to this town - no thanks to a certain snooping girl - and I just silently learn of from their ideas. I may not agree with their bizarre behaviors but that is no excuse to ignore the happenings of these foreigners or to chase them away. I too was born from a foreign race as lost my parents to the hate that other tribes had for our clan and the blind eye that the government turned to their plight. I'm all alone in this sickening town and I also have a hand in killing other foreigners and locals before they have the chance to kill me. I saw how each clan would act, speak and soon learnt of the thoughts behind their behaviors and used those thoughts to my own advantage, to survive among them.
That's why I could work with this shaky party and experience a whole new way to live in this Mesop. I learnt to draw out my plans with even the simplest of 'props' like the soil, stones and a stick. To gain social position of power to herd others. To persuade others that it is thrugh my leadership that we can overcome the immediate fears and conflict. And to learn anything to could be used to my advantage but to appear to others as if only knowing of small information that would be available to my (perceived) limited access.
"Grandmaster. Embler party has arrived."
"Good."
And right here, I will see how ones of common birth can speak to the greatest power in the land. This is the world of 'politics'.
