１．君は神の存在を信じるか。
→ Do you believe in God?

２．ぼくの言葉を信じないなら、彼にきいてみたまえ。
→ Ask him if you don't believe me.

３．これは辞書です。
→ This is a dictionary.
→ Dies ist ein Wörterbuch.
４．太陽は東から昇り、西に沈む。
→ The sun rises in the east and sets in the west.
→ Die Sonne geht im Osten auf und im Westen unter.
５．彼はいつも朝食前に新聞を読む。
→ He always reads the newspaper before breakfast.
→ Er liest immer vor dem Frühstück die Zeitung.
６．うそをつくことは悪い。
→ To tell a lie is wrong.
→ It is wrong to tell a lie.
→ Zu lügen ist falsch.
→ Es ist falsch zu lügen.
７．彼は学者というより、むしろ小説家であると思う。
→ I think he is not so much a scholar as a novelist.
→ Ich glaube, er ist weniger ein Gelehrter als vielmehr ein Romancier.
８．通りの向こう側にコンビニがあります。
→ There's a convenience store on the other side of the street.
→ Auf der anderen Straßenseite befindet sich ein Lebensmittelladen.
９．私の家は、駅から歩いてわずか５分のところです。
→ My house is only five minutes' walk from the station.

１０．英作文上達を目指す人たちに私は言いたい。
→ To those who aspire to be proficient in writing English , my advice is :
→ Allen, die ihre Englischkenntnisse im Schreiben verbessern möchten, rate ich Folgendes :
１１．１つでも多く単語を憶えよ。
→ Acquire as large vocabulary as you can.
→ Eigne dir einen möglichst großen Wortschatz an.
１２．文法の規則を正確に憶えよ。
→ Master the rules of grammar.
→ Beherrsche die Grammatikregeln.
１３．英熟語を憶えよ。
→ Learn the idioms of the English language.
→ Lerne die Redewendungen der englischen Sprache.
１４．これだけのことを実行すれば、どんなことでも英語で書けるように必ずなる。
→ If you do this , you will surely be able to express in writing whatever you wish to say.
→ Wenn Sie das tun, werden Sie sicherlich in der Lage sein, alles, was Sie sagen möchten, schriftlich auszudrücken.
１５．英語は９９％暗記ものだと言った人がいる。
→ Someone once said that English is 99% memorization.
→ Jemand hat einmal gesagt, Englisch bestehe zu 99 % aus Auswendiglernen.
１６．それはウソである。
→ That's a lie.
→ Das ist eine Lüge.
１７．英語は私に言わせるならば、１００％暗記ものなのである。
→ In my opinion, English is 100% memorization.
→ Meiner Meinung nach besteht Englisch zu 100 % aus Auswendiglernen.
