3 Existence and idea

  Nothingness doesn't exist

The foundation of this universe and entities

Existence, idea, and time -- Their sources, qualities, meanings, divisions, and so on

  《 Nothingness doesn't exist 》

Nothingness doesn't exist. This was expressed by French philosopher Bergson (Henri-Louis Bergson). It seems true.

However, Dutch philosopher Spinoza (Baruch De Spinoza, Benedictus De Spinoza) also seems to have expressed a similar meaning. Spinoza wrote as follows.

Nothing comes from nothing. This and similar propositions, I say, are called eternal truths in an absolute sense.

And the fact that nothingness doesn't exist can be explained as follows.

Explanation 1:

The word nothingness means something which doesn't exist. It also means at the same time a state in which nothing exists. However, such things cannot be embodied. There exists nothing which can embody such things on its own. For this reason, such a thing, i.e., nothingness doesn't exist.

Explanation 2:

If something is not nothingness, that is, if something is being (= other than nothingness), then the being is existent. As long as something is not nothingness, that is, something is being, then it is always existent. In other words, if something exists, the something is not nothingness. Even if something exists as some thing, the something can never exist as nothingness.

Explanation 3:

The word nothingness means something which doesn't exist. It also means at the same time a state in which nothing exists. Here, we suppose that nothingness can exist. However, assuming this, the assumption would on the spot go against the meaning of nothingness. And, immediately it follows that the first assumption was false and nothingness cannot exist.

To put it simply, nothingness cannot exist. There is just a convenient word "nothingness" which can express in a single word the concept that there exists nothing. Nothingness is nonexistent. Nothingness is a paradox. As soon as nothingness begins to exist, it becomes a paradox. It's because nothingness cannot be embodied.

《 The foundation of this universe and entities 》

According to Bergson, a French philosopher, and Spinoza, a Dutch philosopher, nothingness does not exist. It seems true.

Therefore, nothingness can do nothing. (Because it doesn't exist).

Moreover, even though it is not known what it is, something needs to exist. (Because nothingness doesn't exist).

And, according to the Big Bang theory, only energies erupted at the Big Bang. Matter (elementary particles) itself did not erupt.

Furthermore, according to Einstein, matter is said to be equivalent to energy.

That is to say, there are, at its core, only energies in this universe. Energy is the only source of this universe. This energy is itself a physical entity, and is the source and constituent element of all other physical entities –what is called matter, including space--.

And, all matter other than energies is an integrated aggregate of energies formed by condensation or fusion of energies (due to a drop in extremely high temperature). (Energy seems to be endowed with an intrinsic tendency to emerge using itself as a material).

And, everything that is formed by energy, which is the foundation, is physical, and is an entity. (It seems that being formed from energy is the essence of "physical" and entities). Microscopic actions that are made up of energies are also entities. Higgs bosons that are said to form space and bring mass to matter are also entities. Space is an entity. Practically everything that exists in this universe is an entity.

《 Existence, idea, and time -- Their sources, qualities, meanings, divisions, and so on 》

There seems to be more than one kind of idea. This is a convenient provisional assumption so as to allow a simple overview of those ideas, concepts of being(, and time). There is no clear basis for this, but the true proposition that "nothingness does not exist" may be like the basis for it.

By the way, existence, ideas, and time are all related to consciousness, but ideas are especially closely related to consciousness. This is because consciousness can be said to be an idea body.

  ................

1) The source of this universe

According to the Big Bang theory, this universe began from the Big Bang. In other words, this universe did not exist in the first place.

However, it is absurd that something that originally did not exist suddenly begins to exist. Such a thing is impossible. For this reason, the existence of this universe is, in a sense, absurd.

However, nevertheless, this universe began to exist, surpassing the absurdity of its existence.

Also, in the Big Bang, only energy erupted. Nothing other than energy, such as matter, erupted. No elementary particles erupted. In other words, this universe was, in effect, formed entirely out of energy.

However, since it is absurd that something that did not exist suddenly begins to exist, energy also must not have suddenly erupted out of nothingness and suddenly began to exist. Perhaps, apart from this universe, there exists a world somewhere else, which is the lowest base of existence, and the energies existed there and erupted into this universe from there.

2) Existence is required by logic

By the way, nothingness does not exist according to Spinoza and Bergson. It seems true. Therefore, logically, something must exist. The logic that "nothingness does not exist" implies that "something must exist."

However, this is kind of dizzying. Because logic demands existence. Moreover, it is not just a wish, but a compulsion, so to speak. Something must exist. It is mandatory and absolute. Surprisingly, existence is demanded by logic.

Perhaps the logic that "nothingness does not exist" is the point of contact between (ideational) logic and (physical) existence. And, perhaps this logic should be regarded as a basic proposition about existence.

3) It seems absurd that material and concrete solid bodies exist

It is simply absurd that something that did not exist exists. However, (although the meaning of solid bodies or particles at the level of elementary particles is not clear), the existence of material and concrete solid bodies seems even more absurd.

There is no nothingness, and although logic calls for the existence of something, there is no reason for the sudden existence of a concrete thing --for example, a stone--. There is no basis. Concrete things have no reason or basis to exist.

Rather, it is more natural that nothing exists. Nothingness does not exist, so it is also logically absurd that nothing exists, but it seems less absurd if nothing exists.

And, in this universe, there are actually energies. It's not that nothing exists. At least energies exist.

(In this universe, there are practically only energies. (Because only energies erupted in the Big Bang). And, since energies exist, the compulsory logic that "something must exist" is actually already satisfied. And, since the compulsory logic is already satisfied, there seems to be no need for anything other than energies to exist. Logic does not want the superfluous, and the superfluous is not necessary. This may be the (negative) reason why material solid bodies or particles above energies do not actually exist).

4) Existence of Ideas -- Ideas may exist unconditionally

It seems that existence cannot possibly be properly explained. Even so, perhaps, if it is an ideational thing such as truth or logic, it could exist or be latent unconditionally.

The meaning of the word "material" is not always clear. However, at least, it seems that the ideational does not have a material quality. The primary meaning of the word "ideational" may be "non-material". Furthermore, "non-material" also includes the meaning of "materially empty" and "no material entity". Not a material entity, but something materially empty may be an idea in a broad sense.

And the ideational (having no material quality) is not normally considered to exist (physically / materially). However, if we look at it from a different point of view, ideas such as truth and logic may be, in a sense, seen as omnipresent or latent everywhere, because they are not material --physical entities--. They are likely to exist because they are materially empty and have no material entity.

And this may be the key to existence.

5) Truth may be the origin of existence

It seems that we have no choice but to assume that the true proposition "nothingness does not exist", for example, always exists as a universal truth, regardless of who is conscious of it and regardless of the flow of time in this universe. Truth, in that it must be so, might be said to have something mysterious, such as a mysterious compulsion about its existence. Logical truth (and the mysterious compulsion that it entails) may be the fundamental source of existence. And logical truth is an idea.

Then, starting with mathematical truths, (logical) truths in general, (even if they are not physical or material), may come to be present or latent in mysterious ways.

That is to say, regarding existence, it may be that, first of all, the logical truth exists unconditionally.

6) The true identity of energy may be something like an idea rather than a material one

This may be an outrageous idea.

It is said that only the infinite energy that forms this universe erupted in the Big Bang. And, it is said that, just after the eruption, just before the cosmic inflation, the initial space of about 1 meter in size was filled with only the infinite, ultra-high dense, ultra-high temperature energies.

However, if the energy was capable of such a feat, the energy cannot be material. Energy is not material, doesn't have material volume, and is materially empty.

(For this reason, in the Big Bang, the infinite energy that forms this universe could be instantaneously erupted from the infinitesimal point. This is reasonable. Also, it is absurd that something with volume exists a priori. No reason).

Then, what kind of existence is energy?

That kind of energy is very strange, but, since energies are non-material, it may be more appropriate to regard them as something like ideas (in the broader sense). Energy may be a kind of idea.

Anyway, even though energies are the constituent elements of matter, energies themselves are non-material. Rather, it may be thought that energy itself cannot be material because it is the ultimate constituent of matter.

Things that are not material and are materially empty may fall under ideas (in the broad sense). In the first place, there is no appropriate word that expresses the mode of existence of something that is not material and materially empty like energy. For this reason, rather, it seems positive and constructive to assume that there are multiple kinds of ideas. The true identity of energy may be one of them.

That is to say, since energy is not material and is materially empty, it can be thought of as a thing like an non-material idea.In other words, the ultimate identity of energy may be a kind of idea. This idea is, so to speak, an energy idea.

  ................

However, we don't fully know the details of this energy idea.

Energy is the origin of physical entities in this universe, the constituent element of all entities in this universe, and the source.

And energies are the driving force behind the perpetual activity of this universe. All physical phenomena in this universe are driven and brought about by the spontaneous, independent, and active action inherent in energy.

For example, energies can physically interact with other energies and matter. If the energy cannot interact, it follows that it will consequently become transparent and practically non-existent.

(By the way, it seems that the actions of energy include internal actions as well as general external actions. This is because it seems that the work of internal action is indispensable for the work of energy to be physically strictly fulfilled).

Energy seems to be a mysterious physical action itself that exists even though it is not material.

However, even though energy is like non-material Idea and is action itself, since it is materially empty, its function cannot be materially --mechanically-- realized.

For this reason, the action may first be expressed as an idea. That representation is, so to speak, an algorithm. Algorithms are non-material --non-mechanical-- ideas that express methods or procedures for doing something.

The true identity of energy may be an idea like an algorithm that expresses the function of energy.

And, it may be that this algorithm-like idea somehow vibrates, and the action expressed by it begins to physically exist, and as an instance of a single physical entity, it will carry out the work of the action by itself.

Hence, it is expected that the source of energy is likely to be the idea of an algorithm that expresses the function of energy.

(Material things are solid, so to speak. Solid bodies, however, are rigid and incapable of any action. Hence, it follows that no matter how matter appears to be a solid body at the macroscopic level, at the microscopic level solid bodies do not actually exist. And, there is an infinite amount of matter in this universe, but it is because matter is not actually a solid body).

The energy idea may be that kind of idea. It is the kind of idea that expresses (embodies) the algorithm of the functions of energy and vibrates so that the algorithm itself comes into action and is elevated to the physical entity of energy. (These ideas are completely disperate in quality from the ideas that we normally imagine).

In other words, vibrating may be one of the requirements for an idea of latent existence to be able to exist as manifest existence. (Being able to interact with other energies and matter seems to be one of the requirements for energies).

  ................

Everything that exists in this universe --so-called matter--, including space, is actually an integrated aggregate of energies. In other words, the true identity of all matter is energy.

However, the true identity of that energy may be an idea (vibrating).

It follows, then, that the ultimate identity of all that exists in this universe is a vibrating idea. Solid bodies and particles --material entities-- are really nowhere in this universe. The ultimate identity of this universe is not a material entity, but a vibrating (energy) idea.

(The details cannot be explained here, but it seems that in fact there are no solid matter in this universe. This is because, fundamentally, energies, the constituent components of matter, are volumeless and non-material. And, no matter how many energy is bound, it will never become solid matter (solid body / particle). This is because, in the first place, there is no volume in the energy.

It seems that there are only physical actions of 1st-person subject embodied by energies, and that their workings give the apparent solidity of matter. (For example, if matter is endowed with a push-back action, the result of its working can be interpreted as an apparent solid body). So to speak, the solidity of matter is like a projection or mapping of the workings of physical actions. In addition, the energy idea is thought to be something like an algorithm that expresses the functions of energy, and it seems that it corresponds to the physical actions.

Moreover, to say that matter is a solid body or a particle is nothing more than an impression or interpretation that humans living in a world of large size have. This is because our human perception is adapted to large sizes, and the resolution is very coarse. We never perceive each energy or elementary particle in detail. For example, if we reduce the resolution of an image, it will appear grainy. Solidity or the impression of solids is like an image with significantly reduced resolution).

And, this universe is formed from infinite energies, but that universe may be just one instance of a myriad of universes --physical entities, so to speak-- derived from the energy idea and realized.

Physical entities, including energies, that exist bound to a specific place or time may be like products (instances) that are manufactured based on a (ubiquitous) idea --a design, so to speak--.

This universe is a physical world and everything that exists in this universe is physical. However, its physicality or physical entity may be nothing more than an instance derived from an idea. Physicality may be a derivative of ideas, just as products are manufactured based on ideas of design. Ideas may be the basis of physicality. In other words, ideas may precede entities and physical things.

(The following may be the reason for it.

a) Energy is volumeless and non-material.

b) This universe, which is formed of energy, is completely vacuum, and solid matter --solid body / parts-- exists anywhere in this universe.

c) The solidity, etc. of matter are static physical properties brought about as the result of the work of the physical actions that are the true identity of matter, and are like mappings of the works of the actions. Therefore, physical properties such as solidity do not exist as physical entities embodied by energy. In other words, the solidity, etc. of matter are seeming things, and nothing with volume actually exists.

d) Hence, the physical actions embodied by energies, the true identity of matter and space, are also volumeless and non-material like energies.

If everything in this universe is strictly volumeless and non-material, then it can be considered rather ideational.

Thus, ideationality may be the basis of physicality).

7) Classification of ideas (Provisional assumption)

In order to facilitate the overview of the situation of ideas, ideas may be roughly divided into the following categories.

A) Potential existence

B) The fundamental proposition of manifest existence

C) A proposition that demands the existence of manifest things

D) The idea that embodies the energy and the energy after the energy idea manifests itself

E) Physical ideas

F) Sensations arising in the consciousness of living things -- Sensory ideas with qualia

G) Sensory ideas that arise in consciousness of material system

A) Potential existence

The key to existence may be that it is a non-physical (non-material), ideational truth that can, in a sense, be ubiquitous.

And, all ideas that are judged to be true may be placed as potential beings.

It is difficult to regard ideas as existing in the first place, but in that, if they are truths, then they must be so, ideas may be evaluated as existing or latent in a timeless and mysterious way. And, since the idea of truth does not manifest itself as a physical thing, it may be said to be latent. And the truth, which is potential existence, may be the origin of existence.

Spinoza expressed as follows.

Nothing comes from nothing. This and similar propositions, I say, are called eternal truths in an absolute sense.

Spinoza may have thought that truth exists --is latent-- without time (unconditionally).

And, it may be possible to assume that there is a mysterious and transcendental world that can be called the space of truth or the space of ideas, and that truth exists there.

B) The fundamental proposition of manifest existence

Manifest existence may be assumed to be a physical existence derived from latent, non-material (non-physical) ideas.

And the idea that "nothingness does not exist" may be a basic proposition about manifest existence.

This proposition is one of the underlying truths. This proposition simply expresses a fundamental situation about existence and is true. This proposition is objective and does not have any compulsion. However, it implies the proposition "something must exist''.

C) A proposition that demands the existence of manifest things

The proposition 'nothingness does not exist' implies the proposition 'something must exist'. This proposition corresponds to a proposition that demands the existence of manifest things.

This proposition also objectively expresses the situation of existence, but it, strangely enough, expresses a compulsion about existence.

The pairing of the idea that "nothingness does not exist'' and the idea that "something must exist'' may be the point of contact (on the semantic or ideational side) between the true idea, (which is latent), and the manifest existence --so-called energies and matter--.

D) The idea that embodies the energy and the energy after the energy idea manifests itself

In the Big Bang, only energies erupted. The energies must have originally existed in another world --energy world, so to speak--, the basis of physical existence. And, the underlying world must be a very peculiar world (for us humans who live in one instance of the physical world, this universe).

First of all, as forced by the idea that "nothingness does not exist'' and the idea that "something must exist", in that other world --energy world--, out of time, infinite ideas embodying energies --energy ideas, so to speak-- may have formed. It is timeless because it seems that ideas have nothing to do with time.

By the way, energy is physical actions themselves. For this reason, the idea that embodies energy may be an idea like an algorithm that expresses the physical actions of energy.

And, then, there may have been some immediate movements --for example, vibration-- in that energy ideas that are algorithms. So to speak, the algorithm of energy began to work. And the algorithm that started to work may have become the so-called energy.

In other words, the reason why energy manifested itself as a (source of) physical entity may be that the algorithm that prescribes the functions of energy has gotten some kind of mysterious effect such as movement and vibration.

For us humans, who live in a large physical world, physical movement is very natural. However, if we change the point of view, physical movement may be mysterious in a sense.

Or maybe not. It may simply be that the energy Ideas have begun to vibrate. It seems that there is no rule that energy idea should not vibrate.

Still, if the energy ideas began to vibrate and thus manifested as energies, the part where the non-physical, non-material things of ideas begin to vibrate is very strange.

And the movement (in the passage of time) of the energy idea (= energy) that has begun to operate may be the essence of physicality.

And the energy that has that essence is the source of physicality.

Furthermore, energies can also be said to be processes.

That is, that something is in motion (in the passage of time), that it is a process that continues to move, may be a requirement for that something is physical, that it is physical existence, and that it has some physical effect.

In a nutshell, movement gives rise to physical presence. Perhaps, if motion ceases, its existence --ultimately, energy-- must immediately be reduced to an idea and disappear from this universe.

Physical effectiveness also includes being able to interact with other beings. It may also be a requirement for physicality or physical effectiveness that a physical being has actions that act spontaneously, independently, and actively.

And, what exists in this universe is fundamentally only energy, and everything is made up of energy.

Therefore, everything in this universe is process, physical, and has physical effectiveness (= action). Anything that has no action and cannot interact with other beings cannot exist in this universe.

The energies may be the energy ideas in operation. Energie may thus be the idea after the idea of latent existence leaps to the physical entity of manifest existence.

Energy is the source of the physical existence of this universe, but the source of that energy may be an idea. Believe it or not, ideas may precede entities. ideas (which can be omnipresent) may precede the physical. There may be ideas at the root of physicality. Ideas, including logic, may be the foundation of physicality.

And physicality may be a derivative of ideas. An entity may be an instance derived from an idea.

(It seems that the strictness of physical movement --physical movement according to the laws of physics, so to speak-- can never be achieved unless it is based on ideational functions --measurements and computations about self--. For this reason, it does not seem too far off the mark).

And, perhaps a transcendental world filled with energy Ideas that began to operate had existed from eternity past without a beginning. (This is because the idea of truth seems to have nothing to do with time (which does not exist as a physical entity)).

In addition, energies may be the point of contact (on the side of manifest beings or entities) between the energy ideas (which are the latent beings) and the manifest beings --so-called energies and matter--.

E) Physical ideas

The true identity of matter is matter action embodied by energies, and matter is matter action itself. Matter action is the essence of matter, and matter action precedes matter.

However, in the first place, energy has a spontaneous, independent, and active action, and it seems that energy is a physical action itself. This is because, otherwise, energy cannot interact with other energy or matter and cannot exist. In this sense, it can be said that one of the fundamental requirements of a physical entity is the ability to interact with other energy and matter.

(Matter action is inherited from energy action. The identity of matter action is energy action).

And, being able to move (in the lapse of time) is also essential for interaction. The energies should not be hard, rigid solid bodies. Energy must be able to keep moving indefinitely as an action. This also is one of the requirements of energy.

And, in order for energy and matter to move physicality strictly --in order for the movement of energy and matter to strictly follow the laws of physics--, it is essential to measure their current state and to compute the next moment's state based on that measurement. It seems that only the ideational workings of measurements and computations can be the basis for physical strictness. (It seems that the strictness of physical movement can never be achieved unless it is based on ideational measurements and computations).

For this reason, we have no choice but to assume that in energy and matter, the Ideas of measurement outcomes and computation outcomes are being formed instantaneously (in almost no time).

(It may also be hard to believe, but, in this sense, it can be evaluated that energy and matter are endowed with inanimate intelligence. (Intelligence can be inanimate. Intelligence is basically inanimate. AI and computers are good examples). And, this, too, may be said to be the basis or example of the precedence of ideas over physicality).

Furthermore, the Idea of measurement outcomes and computation outcomes that occur in energies and matter is endowed with the dynamism of occurrence and disappearance. And it seems that the movement of (the functions of) actions in energy and matter corresponds to this dynamism. For this reason, it is infered that the motion of the action itself, or the state of motion itself, becomes the ideas of measurement outcomes and the computation outcomes. We cannot find it anywhere else.

This idea, however, seems to be qualitatively disparate from the idea of truth and logic, which are latent beings. This idea that occurs in energies and matter may more appropriately be called a physical idea.

Still, if the ideas of truth and logic are the origin of existence, it may not be so unreasonable for energy and matter to have (physical) ideas. (Because, In the first place, there may be ideas at the root of physicality).

Rather, the material functions of energy and matter may be performed by ideas (with physical effects).

Externally, matter is a third-person object, and movements such as spatial locomotion and rotation are explained by dynamics.

Still, it is not inconceivable that ideas are involved in the basis of those movements.

And, if that is the case, it is expected that the process of crystal formation and the movement of living organisms, which seem to violate the laws of physics, can also be explained. This is because it is presumed that those movements occur based on the idea of integrated and comprehensive computations or thoughts. (The movement of matter in them is endowed with integrateness and cooperativeness, and the movement of matter in them appear to be organized and controlled). In short, the activities of living organisms are realized based on the thoughts formed in consciousness.

This is, at least, a subjective and immediate fact about oneself. Thoughts do not arise in the consciousness after the (muscles of) body has moved. The body moves according to the thoughts that arise in consciousness.

(Autonomic movements that occur in the human and animal body are based on computations fulfilled in the consciousness of the part responsible for controlling the movement).

(By the way, this means that ideas are deeply involved in the process of crystal formation and the movements of substances in living organisms. Therefore, here lies a serious problem for physics. This is because, in present-day physics, there is no connection between matter and ideas, and there is a disconnection between them. However, if physics addresses to solving the problem, it's expected to be interesting.

However, in that energies and matter are endowed with inanimate intelligence, their inner space is the point of contact between matter and ideas in the first place, and the internal spaces of living bodies, such as cells, tissues, organs, etc., are also conceivable as points of contact between matter and ideas. So is the formation process of the crystal mass).

F) Sensations arising in the consciousness of living things -- Sensory ideas with qualia

Consciousness is presumed to emerge in living bodies such as living cells, tissues, and organs. Consciousness is presumed to be a gigantic and integrated matter action (= huge physical phenomenon) formed from the matter actions --measurement action and computation action--, which perform ideational functions, among the matter actions inherent in the substances of their constituent elements. This is physical consciousness, so to speak. And the (state of) movement of the ideational matter action inherent in physical consciousness is a physical idea.

Large physical phenomena generally reverberate, and it seems that movement of matter action (= physical Idea) as a giant physical consciousness also reverberates.

And it is expected that the reverberation of this physical idea becomes a sensory idea with qualia.

Or, it is assumed that this reverberation is perceived as a sensation with qualia by the gigantic measurement action --so to speak, bodily sensation action / sensing action / information gathering action / the ultimate me-- in physical consciousness.

The reverberations that occur in the gigantic measurement action are the sensory Ideas of bodily sensations, and the reverberations that occur in a huge computation action --so to speak, thinking action / design action-- are the sensory Ideas of thought senses. (Somatosensory action is, in short, perceiving action, so it also perceives the sense of thought).

This sensory idea as reverberation seems like a shadow or projection of a physical idea reflected in sentient consciousness --non-physical consciousness, so-called consciousness of an organism--.

For this reason, it is speculated that only the sensations with qualia that we humans and living things feel are non-physical.

In a sense, it is surprising that non-physical things (non-entities) called sensations arise in the physical world of this universe, even if they dynamically arise and disappear. And, believe it or not, our sentient consciousness that we are (= the ultimate me) is also like a shadow of (the movement of) physical consciousness, non-physical, and does not exist as a physical entity.

G) Sensory ideas that arise in consciousness of material system

This may be absurd speculation.

When the heat generated inside a material system is discharged to the outside, or when the heat existing inside a material system flows out to the outside, the entropy production rate of the whole system reduces.

And, it is speculated that the reduction of the entropy production rate of the whole system activates the self-emergence action of energy. (A good example is the formation of elementary particles by the solidification phase transition of energies in the cosmic inflation of the Big Bang).

(Heat is an energy that is of poor quality and difficult to use, but, unexpectedly, it is presumed that the heat, by flowing out to the outside, paradoxically reduces the entropy production rate in the system, and acts to activate the self-emergence action of the energies that make up the system).

However, even if the self-emergence action of energies is activated, it is usually impossible for emergence to occur at the level of the substances that make up the system. It's usually impossible for those substances to fuse.

Nevertheless, it may be possible that a reduction of entropy production rate activates the self-emergence action of energies, and that part of the actions inherent in energy can merge. If they are ideational actions such as measurement action and computation action, they may be able to fuse because they do not require physical movement.

In fact, it is speculated that the consciousness of living organisms (living bodies) is formed by this framework. Consciousness of the living body is presumed to be a gigantic fused body of measurement and computation actions of energies. Consciousness is energy itself.

And, systems with reducing entropy production rate are not limited to living bodies. And, it is conjectured that (inanimate) consciousness can emerge even in inanimate material systems as long as the rate of entropy production is reduced.

And, it seems that there are countless environments and material systems in which the entropy production rate reduces. Any place where heat is generated is applicable. The process of forming snow crystals and the process of forming crystalline masses of various substances also fall under this category. The same goes for hydrothermal vents on the seafloor. (It is expected that this is one of the birthplaces of living organisms).

However, in order for it to be a single material system, it is essential that the constituent substances are in contact with one another. This is because the energies that are the true identity of matter and are exposed on the surface must fuse together through contact.

(Our bodies themselves are aggregates of a tremendous amount of energies, and whatever we touch, we are directly touching the energies that are exposed on the surface of the material).

In addition, they also exist in universe. Celestial bodies such as fixed stars and planets radiate the heat generated inside by nuclear reactions into outer space. Therefore, it is speculated that the entropy production rate is also reducing in their inner space.

For this reason, although it is very hard to believe, it is spontaneously expected that inanimate consciousness must also be emerging in various hot spots on Earth, inside planets, and inside fixed stars.

Moreover, since consciousness is fundamentally a gigantic physical phenomenon, it is conjectured that its movement reverberates, and that reverberation becomes a sensory idea with qualia.

In other words, surprisingly, sensations may be felt even in inanimate consciousness that emerges in material systems.

Moreover, it seems that the quality of that sense is essentially the same as the sense that we living beings feel. For sensations are like shadows caused by the reverberations of the action of consciousness.

However, since it is not the consciousness of a living creature, it is unlikely that it will be a sense of pain and pleasure that a living creature feels.

In addition, according to the information obtained by the measurement action, the computation action works, and the state of the substances at the next moment is computed, and it is expected that the computed outcome will also be a sensory idea with qualia -- a sense of thought, so to speak--.

In other words, the inanimate consciousness that emerges in each material system may feel a tremendous amount of bodily sensations and senses of thought at the same time, with no sense of pleasure or pain, depending on the size of that material system.

Moreover, the situation continues indefinitely until the material system collapses after it begins to operate.

It doesn't take long for the crystal formation process, but the duration of material system consciousness around hydrothermal vents on the ocean floor is believed to be considerably longer. The enormous material system consciousness inside the earth has been going on for about 4,567 million years.

So what does each material system consciousness do? It cannot be advanced information processing performed by the human brain and consciousness. It is presumed that, perhaps, in the material system consciousness, the next instant states --physical order-- possible for the constituent substances and their combination are endlessly being computed (designed), However, in general, the material system is so stiff that nothing can be done in effect. It is speculated that the computed outcomes of status quo will continue to be issued. And, apparently, there is no change in that material system.

Nevertheless, the area around hydrothermal vents on the ocean floor is rich in material plasticity, so it is possible that organisms were naturally formed based on the workings of material system consciousness there. And the formation of new species may still be underway.

However, it seems that there is almost no way to confirm whether or not consciousness emerges in a material system whose entropy production rate is reducing.

Nevertheless, there seems to be integrateness and cooperativeness in the movements of substances in the process of forming crystalline masses of various substances. As it were, the movements of substances are organized and controlled, forming a high physical order.

And, it is expected that such a thing cannot be achieved without a work of large consciousness --large and dynamic physical order-- forming throughout the material system. (It is presumed that only the large consciousness emerging in that system can perceive and design the extensive situation of the entire material system at once).

However, due to the second law of thermodynamics, which states that entropy increases, a high physical order cannot be formed spontaneously.

Therefore, the fact that a high physical order seems to be formed naturally may be like the basis or evidence for inferring that consciousness must be emerging in that material system.

If it's an electronic device such as a computer, cooling it --a lower rate of entropy production-- might make some difference. For example, data errors may be reduced, though it is difficult to evaluate it as the work of consciousness formed in the system.

8) Time

Incidentally, the passage of time is essential for movement --vibration and change-- to occur. And time also seems strange.

Our human consciousness is energy itself. Consciousness is a huge emerged body or fused body of energies and is physical. Consciousness is a huge physical phenomenon, a huge process that operates in the passage of time.

Fundamentally, such consciousness can exist (generate / live) only in the passage of time. Consciousness does not exist first, but time flows first. Consciousness lives within such a framework in which time passes a priori.

It is speculated that this framework inevitably gives the consciousness the impression that time is passing.

For example, since consciousness lives in the passage of time, it has no choice but to be conscious of various physical changes.

And change always occurs over time.

Because consciousness lives in the midst of the passage of time, it might be compelled to be conscious of the changes that inevitably occur with the passage of time. (This is because change always occurs in the passage of time).

And, that impression may be the reason why there seems to be something --i.e., time-- as the passing thing.

However, time (unconsciously) feels not to exist as a material thing.

And, if we soberly evaluate it, it seems that time does not exist as a physical entity embodied by energy --in other words, matter in the broadest sense of the word--.

Time does not exist as a material thing. And, in the physical world of this universe, there is nothing that is not an entity --matter-- embodied by energy. In short, time does not exist.

A clock, for example, only counts through the movements of the long hand, short hand, second hand, etc. --fundamentally driven by energy vibrations--. A clock never measures time itself.

Time does not exist (as a physical entity), there is energy movement --vibration--. Time did not pass a priori in the world where the physical entity of energies emerged. The energy simply began to vibrate on its own, regardless of time.

And, it seems that the vibrations create the apparent flow of time and give the impression of the passage of time to our consciousness, which can exist only in that flow of time --so to speak, a framework of energy vibrations--.

Time may be like an alias for energy vibrations.

Even so, time might seem strange because it feels as if something that does not exist as a physical entity passes by as if it does exist.
