Piyopiyo Story Eight -A boy who fights with illness-
Jim is a boy who fights with mental illness. He meets Piyopiyo and gets soothed in the Piyo Star.
He met creatures such as Goopou, Maria and Love and Peace. He ate the Delicious Cake and Cookies made by the Sweets Making Granny.
“I want to live in the Piyo Star forever!” said Jim.
“But you have your doctor and family who worries about you, right?” Piyopiyo said gently. “You can come to the Piyo Star any time you want, but this is not the place to live forever.”
Since Jim was sensitive, he felt hurt at first. But he gradually understood that he was a human, so he should keep fighting with his disease and live like a human.
He had the tendency to keep his worries within himself. One day, he came up with a poem.
Songs from the Glory
I love you from the bottom of my heart
That’s all I have to say
Hopefully, the love is so strong that we’ll never be apart
I kneel down and pray
A voice from above
Saying nobody is the best
Beyond the clouds, a white dove
Flying from east to west
*Singing for the ones you love
Like caring a wounded dove
*Repeat
He came up with this poem when he was thinking of his family.
He intended to cherish his family.
He sent this poem to Piyopiyo by letter and received a reply.
Dear Jim,
You will become a wonderful grownup.
Love, Piyopiyo
Just because he had a mental disease did not mean he was worthless. He was worthy enough just by living.
Life is precious.
Jim was not perfect, but by overcoming his disease, he hoped he could help people who suffered from depression or nervous breakdown like him.
