Piyopiyo Story Five -Environmental issues-
The girl of the forest Annabella has many friends in the forest.
She often listens to the voices of the animals that lived there. Squirrels, deer and rabbits... They had many concerns-
“The streets are dangerous because there are cars running,” said a squirrel.
“The trees are getting cut,” said a deer.
“The hunters are scary,” said a rabbit.
The animals in the river had many worries as well.
“The river is getting polluted,” said a beaver.
“We get caught,” said the fish.
The animals in the ocean had some complaints too.
“The ocean is getting polluted,” said a dolphin.
“We get caught and get taken to the aquarium,” said a polar bear.
“The water temperature is rising,” said a penguin.
Everybody said at once, “What is going to happen to our future?”
Annabella couldn’t sleep at night. When she finally slept, she was in the Piyo Star.
“Everybody who comes to this star gets their problems solved. What kind of a problem do you have?” asked Piyopiyo.
“The animals in my planet are having a hard time.”
“That’s a difficult problem. There is only one solution. Be kind and loving to the animals. You need to stand up and save the animals!”
Annabella returned to earth and held classes about the environment in elementary and middle schools.
She used posters to explain about the global warming, the importance of recycling, the correct disposal of wastes and the saving of sources.
So that earth will become more like the Piyo Star.
It doesn’t have to be the exact same.
Still, we must not forget that kindness and love can save the world. These are in the hearts of all living species.
Let’s live together. Loving each other and caring for each other.
