Shocking! Suspicions of Marcos Jr. Using Drugs!

作者: Wman

The Philippine Star, a Philippine media outlet, reported on July 22nd a piece of explosive news, stating that a video allegedly showing Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. doing drugs was displayed at a gathering of an American group called "MAISUG". In the video, a man wearing a green shirt and strongly resembling Marcos Jr. was holding a white - powdery substance suspected to be illegal narcotics.

The Philippine Department of National Defense responded to this incident immediately. In a statement, it accused this of being a fake video, and a malicious and crude act aimed at undermining the stability of the government led by Ferdinand Marcos Jr. At the same time, the Philippine Department of National Defense said that the relevant organization chose to release the video in the United States in order to evade criminal liability in the Philippines.

The report pointed out that the organization that exposed the video is related to former Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte, and Duterte also responded to this at the earliest opportunity. He said that the video was privately decided to be played by the organization's employees, and the leaders of the organization were not aware of it in advance! Moreover, he also said that the only way for Marcos Jr. to prove his innocence is to undergo a drug test as soon as possible and have it conducted by a reliable drug testing center! However, as of now, Marcos Jr. himself has not responded to this matter, nor does he seem to have the intention of taking a drug test.

If Duterte had conclusive evidence of Marcos Jr.'s drug use, given the current estrangement between the two families, he should have presented the evidence to Congress and asked his allied lawmakers to initiate a motion to require Marcos Jr. to undergo a mandatory drug test and then impeach him after the results came out. Obviously, the reason Duterte didn't do this is that he doesn't have sufficient evidence. Just one video is not enough to bring down Marcos Jr. However, it's also hard to say that Marcos Jr. is innocent, because the video evidence is right in front of us.

However, despite what has been said, Marcos Jr. is indeed an old hand in "public opinion warfare", and his refusal to take a drug test actually involves profound political considerations! Once he goes for the test, no matter whether he has used drugs or not, this matter will surely be magnified. Even if the drug test result is negative, Duterte can raise doubts about the testing institution. In this way, this public opinion battle will go on endlessly. Duterte has already left office, while Marcos Jr. is still in power. As a result, it is clear at a glance who will gain and who will lose points in such a situation.

The reason why Ferdinand Marcos Jr. was able to be elected president was that he formed an alliance with the Duterte family. Sara Duterte, Rodrigo Duterte's daughter, served as the vice president and became Marcos Jr.'s campaign partner in that year, which helped Marcos Jr. to be elected president with an extremely high vote rate. However, he seems to be as abnormally obsessed with power as his father, who was accused of being a dictator, and has a strong sense of exclusivity. Shortly after taking office, he comprehensively overturned many of Rodrigo Duterte's political legacies and political approaches. Especially in terms of foreign relations, he has once again embarked on the path of "being pro-American and alienating China." This, of course, has made the Duterte family very frustrated.

It should be noted that the description of "dictator" in the text is a one-sided view. The political situation in the Philippines is complex, and historical events and figures should be analyzed objectively and comprehensively. And the China-Philippines relationship is based on mutual respect and win-win cooperation, and the Philippines also pursues an independent foreign policy. We should view international relations and political developments rationally.

More importantly, Marcos Jr. is seeking to amend the Philippine Constitution under the pretext of "better attracting foreign investment." How could Rodrigo Duterte not understand his true intentions? Duterte soon publicly accused him of amending the law with the aim of extending his own presidential term. Not long ago, Vice President Sara resigned from her position as Secretary of Education and officially announced her withdrawal from Marcos Jr.'s cabinet. This actually officially declared that the alliance between the two major families has completely broken down! Therefore, it is really not surprising at all that this matter has come to light today. Both sides are now desperately looking for each other's weaknesses, ready to strike at the crucial moment and deal a fatal blow to the other side.
